Former University of Maryland head coach Gary Williams thinks Kevin Durant could wind up back in the Washington D.C. area.

Williams' thoughts on Durant are just idle summer chatter, but the former Terrapins head coach thinks Durant could sign with the Wizards when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2016. "One interesting thing on this LeBron going back to Cleveland, Durant’s watching that very close," Williams said on a radio interview last week. "He’s seeing the adulation pouring out for LeBron James for coming home. And Durant loves this area." We'll chalk this one up to summer conjecturing for now, but if Williams is correct, the Wizards have two seasons to prove to Durant that he can win in D.C.

The Bucks are planning to sign Sean Kilpatrick, according to ESPN.com's Chris Haynes.

The Nets had to cut him to make room for Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas. It's hard to believe that Kilpatrick had a headphones advertisement near Barclays Center, but now he'll be heading up north to add some depth to the Bucks. By the time he's up to speed, chances are Tony Snell and/or Matt Dellavedova are back.

Maxi Kleber scored a career-high 21 points during a 98-96 loss to the Spurs on Saturday, adding three rebounds, three blocks and three 3-pointers.

He was 9-of-10 from the field to give him a 105.0 effective field goal percentage. Kleber's defense was also really good and he's clearly locked up his starting job. Of course, Kleber does only have a 12.6 usage rate on the season, but the minutes are up with at least 29 in each of his last four and maybe he gets more shots. He's a possible deep-league option and he is trending up.
Dec 17 - 12:09 AM

Alex Len played 28 minutes during a 108-106 win over the Wolves on Saturday, grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds with 12 points, six assists, one block and two steals.

His dimes were also one off his career high. Based on the pattern, it was Lens' turn to get a DNP-CD, but he has now played in three straight games. Maybe the Suns will continue to play him or maybe a Greg Monroe buyout is coming. Either way, adding Len in standard leagues makes some sense because he's played fairly well since early October.

The Bucks are planning to waive Gary Payton II in the coming days, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.com.

His two-way deal ends on Monday, so the Bucks are not going to convert him a la Mike James in Phoenix. Payton was getting some starts to help their perimeter defense, but this could mean either Tony Snell or Matt Dellavedova are getting close to a return.
Dec 16 - 11:52 PM

Dragan Bender scored a career-high 17 points with two rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and five 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday.

Saying it was his best game would be an understatement as Bender showed some aggressiveness, and of course his night was made on his 5-of-8 from deep. Bender also had a team-high +22 in plus-minus while Marquese Chriss managed a team-low -16 in this exciting win. Bender had basically disappeared behind his mask before this game, so we'd probably have to see him do it again before suggesting him as a pickup unless you're dropping dead weight. This is bad news for Chriss, as well.
Dec 16 - 11:41 PM

Isaiah Canaan made a big impact during his Suns debut in a 108-106 win over the Wolves on Saturday, scoring 15 points with five rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

He was awesome as he took Mike James' spot in the rotation and he closed this game out in style with three clutch free throws with six seconds left to get the game to its final score. Canaan was added via the injury hardship exception, so looking ahead this may change things for when Devin Booker (groin) is set to come back. Still, the Suns have been dying for someone to produce some offense, so maybe they ride Canaan for a bit. His long-term upside isn't great, but he does get four games next week. If you don't like the guy at the end of your bench in a 16-team league, he could be worth a shot. To be clear, it's certainly possible he's out of the rotation in a few days and maybe the Suns pull the same move with their point guards as they did with their centers.
Dec 16 - 11:34 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points during a bad 108-106 loss to the Suns on Saturday, adding 11 rebounds, four assists, one block, two steals and matching a career-high four 3-pointers.

This was a terrible loss and somewhat surprisingly it's the second time they've lost to the Suns on a Saturday with another loss in Phoenix last month. Plus, this was Minnesota's first home loss to a Western Conference opponent all year. Bad loss aside, Towns is absolutely crushing over his last five games, averaging 25.2 points, 13.0 boards, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 treys on 55.1 percent from the field. KAT being at 30 games already has him as fantasy's No. 4 player in standard leagues to this point and he still hasn't missed a game yet in his NBA career.
Dec 16 - 11:27 PM

Josh Richardson carried the Heat during a 90-85 win over the Clippers on Saturday, scoring a career-high 28 points with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, three blocks and six 3-pointers.

Those six treys were also a career mark as part of his 10-of-16 line from the field and 2-of-2 from the line for a beautiful 82.9 TS%. Richardson more than doubled the rest of his teammates in scoring tonight and he brought outstanding defense as per usual. It's all coming together for Richardson over his last 10, averaging 15.8 points, 3.2 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.6 treys on 55.1 percent from the field and 82.4 percent from the line. He's been a third-round player per game in standard leagues over that 10-game span, so his patient owners can pat themselves on the back.
Dec 16 - 11:10 PM

Michael Beasley moved right into Kristaps Porzingis' role in a 111-96 win over the Thunder on Saturday, matching his season-high 30 points with five rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

The Walking Bucket was awesome, making 11-of-18 from the field, 6-of-7 from the line and only turning it over twice with all that usage. Beasley dropped another 30-point gem against the Rockets earlier this year when KP was out, so he's thrived in this understudy role. The Unicorn was somewhat close to playing and he did some work in warmups, so there's a decent chance Beasley will have to move back to the bench on Monday against the Hornets. Hopefully you didn't fade him in DFS.
Dec 16 - 10:33 PM

LeBron James finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in Saturday's win against the Jazz for his 60th-career triple-double.

LeBron moves into sixth place on the NBA's all-time triple-doubles list, as he broke a tie with former Boston Celtics standout Larry Bird. Next up in LeBron's crosshairs will be Wilt Chamberlain (78). He said earlier this week that he is feeling better than at any point in his career and that's best news for the rest of the NBA.
Dec 16 - 10:29 PM

Carmelo Anthony didn't have a successful trip in his return to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, making 5-of-18 from the field for 12 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes during a 111-96 loss to the Knicks.

He got mostly cheers during this game and the Knicks gave him a proper intro with the P.A. announcer saying his name just like he normally would as a Knick. Although, part of the MSG crowd was chanting "O-la-di-po" during this game, so Paul George got some love. Melo hit a 3-pointer on the first possession of this game, but he did cool off and he didn't have a strong defensive showing either. Plus, Anthony has been ice cold lately, failing to score in the teens in three of his last four games. Melo will forever be a legend in NYC and his Big Apple legacy will never die for showing up at a bodega wearing a robe.
