The Mavericks may nullify their recent contract agreement with Rashard Lewis after a physical revealed the need for knee surgery.

Lewis already signed his contract, according to Mavericks radio announcer Chuck Cooperstein, which seems odd if he didn't pass his team physical. It shouldn't take long for more details of the situation to emerge -- with luck the 34-year-old Lewis won't require major surgery, and will be ready to play for the Mavs (or another team) on opening night.

Matt Barnes is wanted by the NYPD for questioning after he allegedly choked a woman inside a nightclub early Monday morning.

After he allegedly choked the woman, Barnes reportedly punched two other people who tried to intervene. Barnes left the scene before the cops showed up, but the NBA and Kings will likely investigate this along with the NYPD -- the Kings were in town after Sunday's meeting with the Knicks. It's worth noting that DeMarcus Cousins was shown in the video after the incident, but it's not clear if he was involved in any way. If the allegations are true, Barnes is going to be in hot water.

Zach Randolph (personal) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Pelicans.

This will be his seventh game in a row away from the team as he's still on bereavement leave for the loss of his mother. JaMychal Green is a lock to play over 30 minutes Monday, while Jarell Martin will remain in the rotation until Z-Bo returns. Green is coming off a 16-point, 13-rebound performance against the Lakers with three blocks.
Dec 5 - 9:18 AM

Vince Carter (hip) will not play on Monday vs. the Pelicans.

This will be his fourth game in a row on the shelf. The Grizzlies will only have nine players available Monday, so Troy Williams and Troy Daniels will both see heavy minutes on the wings. Daniels may be the better dart throw in DFS after erupting for 31 points against the Lakers in his last outing.
Dec 5 - 9:15 AM

Paul George (sore left ankle) returned to action on Sunday with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

George missed six of the Pacers' past seven games and he showed some rust early, going scoreless in the first quarter, but he quickly found his groove in an impressive road win. The offense ran through him extensively as the Pacers fended off the Clippers down the stretch, and the fact that he logged 34 minutes proves that he doesn't have any medical restrictions.
Dec 5 - 12:27 AM

The Clippers lost at home to the Pacers on Sunday, in spite of Blake Griffin's team-high 24 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal.

L.A. coughed up a big early lead and Griffin was one of the only players who looked engaged on both ends tonight, as the Clippers committed 20 turnovers while getting out-scored in the paint 58-36. Blake drained 10-of-21 shots tonight and the Clippers' loss doesn't make his line any less appealing to fantasy owners.
Dec 5 - 12:23 AM

Anthony Davis (right foot/ankle) reportedly had X-rays taken after Sunday's game in Oklahoma City, though Davis denied the report.

ESPN's Justin Verrier reports, "Davis had an X-ray taken after the game in Oklahoma City, according to league sources. Davis denied the account, but the Pelicans forward received treatment and [had] a black wrap on his right foot at his locker before speaking to the media. Davis ... appeared to be walking without a hobble in the locker room." He played 43 minutes on Sunday and did appear to be limping on certain possessions, though he never left the game. We're adding him to the injury report, and in the absence of an update owners should consider him questionable for Monday's home game.
Dec 4 - 10:41 PM

Kristaps Porzingis posted 15 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and two assists on Sunday, going 6-of-18 from the field with one 3-pointer.

Porzingis could have had a monster line if he shot better from the field, but his fantasy owners can't complain with tonight's block-laden double-double. He's a second-round value in most fantasy formats, and has been averaging 34.2 minutes despite ranking third in the NBA in fouls per game.
Dec 4 - 10:28 PM

DeMarcus Cousins went 9-of-30 from the field and 14-of-16 from the line on Sunday, finishing with 36 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, one steal and just two turnovers in 43 minutes.

Cousins had a few 3-point attempts blocked late in the game but he still finished 4-of-10 beyond the arc. He's averaging a career-high 1.7 triples on 38.4 percent shooting, and at this point he's basically matchup-proof. One negative tonight is that he picked up another technical foul, giving him six techs in Sacramento's first 20 games.
Dec 4 - 10:25 PM

Anthony Davis piled up 37 points (14-of-32 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs) with 15 rebounds, four blocks, two steals and two assists on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to avoid a road loss to the Thunder.

Davis was simply unstoppable for stretches tonight, but he got negligible help from his teammates. His offensive exploits shouldn't obscure the fact that he ranks first in blocks (2.7), fourth in defensive rebounds (9.1), and is holding opponents to 4.4 percent below their typical shooting averages against him. Expect another monster effort vs. the visiting Grizzlies on Monday.
Dec 4 - 9:50 PM

Buddy Hield scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting on Sunday, making four 3-pointers with four rebounds and one assist in just 15 minutes.

Hield shot at least three airballs but they didn't rattle his confidence in front of an appreciative OKC audience (he played for the University of Oklahoma). The Pelicans' lottery pick was even instrumental in a too-little, too-late comeback in the fourth quarter. He hadn't scored double-digit points since Nov. 12, however, and we'll need to see him do this a few more times before recommending him in re-draft leagues.
Dec 4 - 9:49 PM

Tim Frazier shifted to a bench role vs. the Thunder on Sunday, where he went scoreless on 0-of-5 shooting with four rebounds, two steals and one assist in 16 minutes.

Frazier started the Pelicans' previous game alongside Jrue Holiday, but that small backcourt didn't last long. He hasn't scored double-digit points in any of the past four games and the impending return of Tyreke Evans won't help matters, so Frazier's owners should at least be keeping an eye on potential waiver-wire additions.
