Jameer Nelson has committed to signing with the Mavericks, according to Yahoo! Sports.

It's been expected for a couple days now and Nelson will add some depth to the Mavs. They're expected to use Nelson, Devin Harris and Raymond Felton as a three-point guard rotation while they will also spell Monta Ellis. The Mavs are going to have one of the smallest backcourts in the NBA, so it'll be of the utmost importance that Tyson Chandler stays healthy. Nelson is only a late-round flier in standard leagues right now.

The Hornets will not tender a qualifying offer to Bismack Biyombo and he is now an unrestricted free agent.

The Hornets are really changing their team this summer. Noah Vonleh is with the Blazers, they added Nicolas Batum, and they think the world of Frank Kaminsky. Bismack actually came around on offense a bit last season, but that's not saying much because he was awful on that end before the 2014-15 season. Expect him to wind up on another team as a backup.

Coach Jeff Hornacek denied reports that the Suns are looking to deal Eric Bledsoe.

"Eric is a big part of our future and there was no entertainment of that," Hornacek said. With the Suns reportedly set to offer Brandon Knight a five-year, $70 million deal, it's not going to be easy to have two of those deals essentially for just one position -- they would obviously play next to each other a lot. Expect plenty more Bledsoe rumors in the next couple weeks.

LaMarcus Aldridge is planning to have a meeting with the Raptors.

The Raptors do have some money under the cap to go after Aldridge, but the Spurs are still considered as the favorites. The Raptors had some issues at power forward last year and Jonas Valanciunas still hasn't come around on offense. LaMarcus figures to be one of the first unrestricted free agents to sign.

Dwyane Wade will not pick up his player option for next season and will be a free agent.

The vast majority of players are opting out this summer, so he still could wind up with the Heat next season. Still, Miami is the favorite to land Wade, but Goran Dragic figures to be a better bet to be in a Heat uniform next season. Expect Wade to get some interviews with some contending teams.

Nets executives believe there is a trade market for Deron Williams, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com.

The Nets are hopeful that teams believe a change of scenery will help Williams. Besides a big 35-point game against the Hawks on Apr. 27, Williams failed to score more than 13 points in 10 of his last 11 games last year (playoffs included). The Nets are short on picks and may need to start rebuilding.
Jun 29 - 2:53 PM

The Warriors have picked up their team option for Marreese Speights for the 2015-16 season.

It's a good deal for the Warriors, who will owe Speights around $3.8 million for this upcoming season. The Warriors have drafted two solid young power forwards in the last two drafts in Kevon Looney and James Michael McAdoo, so they'll be looking to unload David Lee.
Jun 29 - 2:47 PM

The Knicks are frontrunners for Arron Afflalo in free agency.

The Knicks really need some help on the wing, so expect them to go after guys like DeMarre Carroll and Wesley Matthews, too. Afflalo had an abysmal finish with the Blazers last year, averaging 10.6 points, 2.7 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.4 treys on 41.4 percent from the field in 30.1 minutes. Afflalo wasn't great with the Nuggets last year either, so the Knicks will be hoping he can be more like the 2013-14 version of himself.

Brook Lopez is commanding a deal in the three-year, $60 million range from the Nets in free agency, according to ESPN.com.

He can thank a big post-break run for this high demand, averaging 19.7 points, 9.2 boards and 1.8 blocks on 52.5 percent from the field. Lopez had chronic foot issues leading up to this strong finish, so cashing in on a big deal would be a huge win for him.

Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young are expected to stay with the Nets this offseason with Young looking for a deal worth around $50 million over four years.

Both are expected to agree with the Nets early in free agency. With the Nets dealing Mason Plumlee, they are absolutely going to need both Young and Lopez. Thad played 32 minutes per game in the playoffs and is likely looking at similar playing time next season. He'll be a mid-round pick next year

Updating a previous item, Luol Deng has opted in with the Heat and will remain in Miami.

Just minutes ago it was reported that Deng would opt out, but apparently he's decided to delay his chance at another payday for a season. It's a surprising and winning scenario for Miami, who now doesn't have to worry about finding a starting small forward next season. Deng will also mentor rookie Justise Winslow. Pat Riley wins again.

Mario Hezonja has completed his buyout with Barcelona for $1.4 million.

This is the first step in Hezonja joining the Magic next season, a scenario that Orlando has expressed zero hesitation about since taking him fifth overall. With Tobias Harris a candidate to depart via (restricted) free agency, Hezonja should make an impact right away.
