Latest Headlines

Paul George (leg) will stay in a Las Vegas hospital for three days.

He suffered an open tibia-fibula fracture and had successful surgery on Friday night. George didn't have any additional damage to ligaments, arteries, veins or nerves, so thankfully he'll just need to focus on the recovery of his two bones. The 2014 All-Star is expected to miss the upcoming 2014-15 season and we hope to see him back on the court putting up huge stat lines as soon as possible.
Aug 2 - 9:05 AM

Derrick Rose (illness) and Taj Gibson (ankle) are ready to play against the Raptors on Monday.

He was expected to play at shootaround earlier today, but there's always the need of confirmation on Rose. He missed tow games with an illness over the weekend and should be able to handle his normal workload. If you had Aaron Brooks, you can look to cut him in most leagues.
Dec 22 - 6:27 PM

Dwight Howard (shoulder), James Harden (hamstring) and Trevor Ariza (calf) will play against the Blazers.

They obviously were not going to sit against the Blazers. Howard's shoulder injury popped up over the weekend, but it didn't seem to be affect him. His fantasy owners can start him like they normally would.
Dec 22 - 6:17 PM

Danilo Gallinari (knee) will have surgery on his meniscus on Monday.

He is out indefinitely and the All-Star break seems like a fair estimation. Gallinari just can't stay on the court these days and the Nuggets might shut him down for the year. Wilson Chandler's minutes are safe while Alonzo Gee may also play more.
Dec 22 - 5:51 PM

Ty Lawson (back) will play against the Hornets on Monday.

He is dealing with back soreness and there is no word of him being limited. Lawson's bigger issue has been his ankle and he hasn't had too many back issues in his career, so his fantasy owners can throw him into their lineups. If something goes wrong, Nate Robinson would get more run.
Dec 22 - 5:39 PM

Kobe Bryant was held out of practice on Monday and coach Bryon Scott has not decided on his status for Tuesday.

Kobe has been complaining about his body not being right, so there's a good chance he sits on Tuesday or at least one game this week. The Lakers have four games this week, so it still makes sense to start Bryant in weekly formats. If he's out Nick Young, Wayne Ellington and Wes Johnson will benefit.
Dec 22 - 3:32 PM

The Houston Rockets have emerged as the frontrunner for Josh Smith, according to Yahoo! Sports.

From an offensive standpoint, this makes zero sense. Smith gave himself the nickname Mid Range Shawty a couple years ago and the Rockets take less mid-range shots than any team. He reportedly was "fixated" on joining the Rockets, who have two improving power forwards in Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones (leg). Owners in standard leagues might have an excuse to cut him now because he was just the No. 182nd player in those formats before today.
Dec 22 - 2:46 PM

David Lee (hamstring) will play against the Kings on Monday.

He went through both practices over the weekend and should be ready to go. One thing that will not be ready to go is his former role, which has been taken over by Draymond Green. Lee is not going to have the fantasy value he used to have and is unlikely to be a top-80 guy over the next month. Green owners shouldn't be too concerned.
Dec 22 - 2:29 PM

Kevin Durant (ankle) missed practice on Monday and is a game-time decision against the Blazers on Tuesday.

The Thunder called it a "mild" ankle sprain on Friday, but they're still being very cautious. OKC rattled off a seven-game winning streak this month and are already just 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, so resting him makes sense. The Thunder have four games this week, so it's almost impossible to bench KD in weekly leagues.
Dec 22 - 2:21 PM

George Hill (knee) has been upgraded to questionable against the Pelicans on Tuesday, and he could make his season debut.

Hill's knee has responded well, and now he just has to get his conditioning together in order to make his season debut. At this point, Hill should not be on the waiver wire in any format, and if he is, make sure to scoop him up immediately as the Pacers sorely need everything he brings on offense. He'll be tasked with playing as large of a role as he can handle. CJ Watson and Donald Sloan will be pushed into their usual reserve roles when Hill returns.
Dec 22 - 1:41 PM

Jeff Teague (hamstring) is doubtful to play on Monday against the Mavericks, and there is no timetable for his return.

Teague hasn't been able to suit up since last week, and it doesn't appear he's getting close yet. Dennis Schroder will draw another start in Teague's place, and he's averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 2.5 turnovers in a tiny two-game sample size.
Dec 22 - 1:20 PM

Tony Parker (hamstring) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers.

Parker has missed five straight and eight of nine games with the hamstring injury, so the upgrade in status is a great sign after he was previously declared out. If Parker is able to play, Cory Joseph would go back to the bench and lose a lot of his fantasy appeal in the process. However, it is worth noting that Parker has already aggravated the issue once, and the Spurs are notoriously careful with their veteran players.
