The NBA has suspended P.J. Tucker for three games after he pled guilty to a 'super extreme' DUI.

The Suns were aware of Tucker's DUI prior to giving him a three-year, $16.5 million contract this summer, and they'll have to make do without their starting SF for the season's first three games. Rookie T.J. Warren or Gerald Green may be thrown into the fire on opening night, but for now, the starting job is still Tucker's to lose.

Blake Griffin (quad) and Chris Paul (hand) both said on Monday that they are 100 percent.

This means the Clippers will open training camp at full strength. Griffin spent most of the summer rehabbing, and while his recovery was abnormally long, hopefully the quad issue is in the rearview mirror. He's entering a contract year and the trade rumors have been buzzing, so his price in fantasy drafts has noticeably dropped. It will be interesting to see how he holds up during the preseason.

Giannis Antetokounmpo said Jabari Parker will be an All-Star this year.

It's not that wild of a thought. The Bucks are really going to need a lot out of Parker, especially with Khris Middleton (hamstring) expected to miss most of the season. After the break last year, Parker played 80 percent of his minutes next to Antetokounmpo and Antetokounmpo will run the offense, so this is good to hear for Parker. What's more, he did get a handful of minutes at small forward late in the year. With some talk of Parker adding more treys, he might have success in that spot. He's a very interesting pick in the middle rounds of drafts.

Kelly Olynyk (shoulder surgery) has been cleared for non-contact drills.

Just in time for training camp. Olynyk will be reevaluated on Oct. 15, but this doesn't mean that he will be ready for the season opener. The Celtics won't rush him back given their frontcourt depth, but this could give Tyler Zeller an early edge over Olynyk for the backup center role.

Chandler Parsons (knee surgery) doesn't have a set timetable to return according to Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace.

"He's progressing," Wallace said. "He had a good offseason. I just saw him in the weight room doing some things. He's back on a limited basis now; not totally fully cleared but has been progressing well." Wallace added that it's still unclear if Parsons will be ready for opening night. The versatile forward will be limited to non-contact drills early in camp, and he will continue to be reevaluated on a weekly basis. His upside is very real, but so are the durability concerns.

Coach Mike Malone said the Nuggets "have two young bigs that can play together."

In other words, it sounds like he's open to playing Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic together. In the last 11 games, Jokic played 12 percent of his minutes next to Nurkic. What's more, that combo had a positive net rating and looked good against bigger teams. While the Nuggets aren't likely to unleash Nurkic due to his injury history, his per-minute output makes him a very intriguing pick in the later rounds after the reliable bigs come off the board.

Hornets coach Steve Clifford said that his starting lineup is set except for the center position.

Cody Zeller and Roy Hibbert will compete for the starting role, but Clifford simply said that they will both "play a lot." Neither player has much upside and Hibbert has been a ghost for the past two years, so a potential timeshare won't help. This is a situation that most fantasy owners will want to ignore. In case it needs to be said, Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams are the confirmed starters at 1-4.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (shoulder) is a "full go" for training camp.

Hornets coach Steve Clifford said that MKG is in great shape and that he won't be limited in camp. Clifford added that there is a noticeable difference in his range shooting, an encouraging sign because his shooting has always been his biggest weakness. It's a small sample size, but MKG looked great in seven games before the injury last season, averaging 12.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 54.1 percent shooting from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. MKG will be the starting SF next to Nicolas Batum on the wings.

Coach Mike D'Antoni said James Harden is basically the point guard when he's on the floor.

This isn't a surprise to hear whatsoever. While the perception is that Harden has the ball all the time, the NBA's leader in minutes last year ranked just 13th in time of possession per game last year -- the 12 ahead of him are all point guards. Teammate Eric Gordon has already said Harden can "easily" get double-digit dimes, so his ceiling in fantasy is sky high. He makes a very compelling case as the top pick in standard leagues.

C.J. Wilcox will have some X-rays on his hand on Monday and could be cleared in time for training camp.

He broke his finger over the summer, but it sounds like the Magic are expecting good news. Jodie Meeks (foot) won't be ready for the season opener, so Wilcox will fight for minutes off the bench behind Evan Fournier. His role will be limited, at best.
Sep 26 - 12:32 PM

Aaron Gordon (ankle) will not participate in full-contact drills at the start of training camp.

He tweaked his ankle in a recent workout, but it's not believed to be serious. In fact, Magic GM Rob Hennigan said that Gordon is fully expected to play in the preseason games. Gordon is fine and this shouldn't dissuade owners from spending a mid-round pick on him.
Sep 26 - 12:28 PM

Andre Drummond said he is using virtual reality to improve his free throw percentage.

You can't make this stuff up. Drummond said that he puts on a headset and watches himself making free throws at various angles. "They’re all makes, obviously, so it’s constantly watching myself shoot the same shot, over and over again, and now while I’m out there it’s second nature," he said. Drummond shot 35.5 percent from the line last season, so it's encouraging to see him so devoted to improve despite signing a max deal over the summer. His free throw shooting is the only thing holding him back from being an elite standard-league asset.
