Warriors sign G Leandro Barbosa.

Barbosa's deal with be for one year at the veteran minimum as he joins his fifth NBA team. The 31-year-old averaged 7.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 20 games with the Suns last season, so his fantasy value is virtually non-existent as a role player for the Warriors.

Thon Maker will continue to start at center for the Bucks, according to coach Jason Kidd.

Milwaukee seems to be fully embracing the stretch-five idea after struggling to develop an effective center rotation with John Henson, Greg Monroe, and the recently-traded Miles Plumlee. In seven starts this season, Maker is averaging 7.3 points, 1.3 triples, 3.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks.

Tiago Splitter will reportedly be dealt to the 76ers as part of a package for Ersan Ilyasova.

The Sixers have three centers on their roster, with Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel already mentioned in trade talks, and Splitter has yet to play this season due to injuries. His contract is expiring and this is entirely about the salary cap, draft picks, and clearing room for Dario Saric. Saric was already trending up and he's simply must-own as the obvious starting PF with Ilyasova out of town.

The Pelicans are close to signing Hollis Thompson to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

New Orleans lacks depth in the backcourt and wings, following their splashy trade for DeMarcus Cousins, and they recently auditioned Thompson in addition to Mario Chalmers, Quinn Cook and Reggie Williams. He'll be a bit player, assuming he does crack the Pelicans' rotation, and the vast majority of owners can leave him on the wire.
Feb 22 - 7:23 PM

Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut did not practice on Wednesday.

Coach Rick Carlisle said everyone can "read into what you want" about this move being tied to the trade deadline. Owner Mark Cuban has also talked about the Mavs taking on salary to get a draft pick. The Mavs aren't under the cap right now, so that makes dealing veterans even more likely. Deron would almost certainly lose fantasy value on a new team. Yogi Ferrell is still a hold.

The Wizards will acquire Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris McCullough in a trade with the Nets, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The Nets will get back Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thornton and a lottery-protected 2017 first-round pick. The Wizards lost out on the Lou Williams sweepstakes, so they'll go after the next easy trade target out there. Bogdanovic's playing time was really trending up with 29.4 minutes per game in February, averaging 15.1 points, 5.3 boards, 1.6 assists and 1.7 treys. Obviously his value will be falling off a cliff in fantasy. Meanwhile, guys like Caris LeVert, Sean Kilpatrick, Joe Harris and Thornton should all be looking to pick up some of that playing time. Most owners can take a wait-and-see approach, especially with Jeremy Lin likely to return.

An MRI revealed Miles Plumlee (calf) has a second degree strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The Hornets are razor thin at the five spot with Cody Zeller (quad) also doubtful, so this one really hurts. On the positive side, Frank Kaminsky has played very well at the center spot and looks to be locked in to big minutes, making him worth owning in standard leagues in the short term.
Feb 22 - 3:57 PM

Coach Mike D'Antoni called Lou Williams the seventh man in the rotation.

He also said Williams should be helping Eric Gordon, which suggests Lou will be passing more than he did in Los Angeles. Williams was carrying the Lakers' second unit with a 30.0 usage rate and also in the top 25 for unassisted baskets among the 170 players with at least 30 games and 24 minutes per outing. Williams is also a good catch-and-shoot guy at 39.6 percent on treys, so basically he can get his own shot and create his own. Plus, he's just behind fifth-ranked DeMarcus Cousins for fifth in free throws per 36 minutes to also be a great fit there. Williams' fantasy value will be taking a hit here, but he could still have some late-round appeal.
Feb 22 - 3:36 PM

Kenneth Faried (ankle) is doubtful for Thursday night against the Kings.

He has been out since Feb. 8 due to his ankle injury, but Faried did go through some practice on Tuesday. The Nuggets did practice on Wednesday, so we'll be looking out for any reports on his status for that one. If he can't go, we should see a decent amount of Juancho Hernangomez and maybe a little more Mason Plumlee at the four.
Feb 22 - 3:23 PM

Chris Paul (thumb) has been cleared to play and could play Thursday against the Warriors.

It would appear he's almost certainly going to beat his target of early March. Coach Doc Rivers said Paul looked good in practice, but the team has yet to decide for sure on CP3's status in the "Cool Story, Glen" game to start the second half. CP3's return means Jamal Crawford, Raymond Felton and Austin Rivers will all be taking massive hits and are drop candidates. Blake Griffin has also busted loose as a passer with 7.8 assists per game over his last five, so that stat will be dropping, as well.
Feb 22 - 3:05 PM

Coach Mike Malone said Jameer Nelson will be the starting point guard going forward.

With the Nuggets going for the eighth seed, this move makes a lot of sense. Since taking over as the starter last month due to some injuries to Mudiay, Nelson has gone 7-7, averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 boards, 6.3 assists, 1.6 turnovers, 1.7 treys and 0.5 steals in 30.7 minutes per game. That has given him low-end value in standard leagues and is also a fair expectation going forward. Plus, he's been hot lately, so he should be owned in most formats.
Feb 22 - 3:01 PM

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) may be able to return to the court for Friday's game against the Heat.

Sefolosha was spotted getting up some 3s after going through a full practice on Wednesday and given that he's been out since Jan. 27 with this groin injury, he has to be getting very close to a return. Sefolosha has value as a steals specialist as Atlanta's starting small forward, but a trade at the deadline would likely crush his value. Until he's actually playing games, he can remain on the wire in most leagues.
