Elfrid Payton (hamstring) will play against the Suns on Friday.

He reported some soreness after Wednesday's win, so coach Frank Vogel will try to limit him to 25 minutes. Expect the Magic to do some damage on offense and get Payton in your season-long lineups.

James Harden, Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green reportedly pushed into the Clippers' locker room on Monday night looking to confront Austin Rivers, but security intervened before anything physical took place.

It's uncertain if players will face fines or suspensions from the league as a result of the altercation, but we'll keep an eye on it closely. Head coach Mike D'Antoni said Harden could return from his hamstring injury Thursday or Saturday, but any kind of penalty from the league could delay his return. Stay tuned. The teams meet again Feb. 28.
Jan 16 - 1:43 AM

Chris Paul finished with 19 points, seven assists, rebounds and a blocked shot over 35 minutes in Monday's game against the Clippers, his first game against his former team.

CP3 was given a hearty ovation from the home crowd before the game, and then the Clips spoiled the homecoming with a 113-102 victory. He finished 8-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-10 from behind the 3-point line, while turning it over just once. He has picked up the pace with James Harden (hamstring) on the mend, posting at least six or more rebounds and six or more assists in each of his seven games in January while averaging 24.8 points per game over the past six contests.
Jan 16 - 1:13 AM

Isaiah Thomas returned from a maintenance rest on Monday but hit just 8-of-21 shots and 1-of-7 3-pointers for 19 points and four assists in 32 minutes.

Maybe we should start calling him the 'Rust Guy' instead of the 'Pizza Guy,' as it's going to take him a minute to shake off the rust after missing seven months with his hip injury. The good news is that he played 32 minutes and hasn't had any issues with the hip, so it should only be a matter of time before he gets the ship righted.
Jan 15 - 11:00 PM

Kings coach Dave Joerger said that he will be resting two veterans in every game going forward.

It apparently started on Monday vs. the Thunder, as Zach Randolph and Vince Carter both picked up DNP-CDs without any warning from the coaching staff or reporters. The Kings are going to focus on their younger players going forward, so in addition to Z-Bo and Carter, George Hill, Garrett Temple and Kosta Koufos are going to be constant threats for rest days.
Jan 15 - 10:58 PM

Russell Westbrook scored 19 points with 16 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and 10 turnovers before he was ejected with 2:51 to play against the Kings on Monday.

Westbrook thought he was fouled on a layup attempt and completely lost it on the refs, picking up a double technical in the process. He'll be fined by the NBA, but his fantasy owners don't have to worry about a suspension. He finished 8-of-14 from the field, but hit just 3-of-7 from the line in what was a very inefficient night. This was the 8th game of his career with 10 or more turnovers, but he should have a monster night against the Lakers on Wednesday to make up for it.
Jan 15 - 10:35 PM

DeAndre Jordan (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. the Rockets.

We've been in the dark for a while here with nothing but the game notes to go by, but coach Doc Rivers confirmed that DJ is out tonight and added that he would be surprised if he played on Wednesday vs. the Nuggets. Willie Reed was terrific on Saturday in a fill-in start, putting up 14 points with 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 26 minutes.
Jan 15 - 8:52 PM

Jordan Bell will start on Monday vs. the Cavaliers, sending Zaza Pachulia to the bench.

Coach Steve Kerr went with this lineup against the Cavaliers on Christmas, as he's expecting a lot of small ball tonight. Bell is coming off two straight DNP-CDs and he might be in and out of the rotation based on matchups, but his solid upside in fantasy has never been in question.
Jan 15 - 7:52 PM

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Skal Labissiere will move into the starting lineup on Monday vs. the Thunder.

De’Aaron Fox, Garrett Temple and Willie Cauley-Stein are also starting, so George Hill and Zach Randolph will head to the bench. Coach Dave Joerger can't make up his mind when it comes to his lineups, so we have no idea if this permanent or just another matchup move. Bogdanovic should be owned in standard leagues, while Labissiere is just a stash for the second half of the season.
Jan 15 - 7:37 PM

Pau Gasol revealed after Monday's game that he's been dealing with a right (shooting) hand injury.

"I can't really bend it much," Gasol said. "It's been building up. I jammed it and it's been a little swollen. I decided to play [Monday]." It sounds like Gasol's ability to play will be dependent on pain tolerance, but knowing the Spurs, he could certainly hit the sidelines on Wednesday in Brooklyn. If he does need to miss time, Davis Bertans and Joffrey Lauvergne would likely pick up most of his minutes. Stay tuned.
Jan 15 - 6:59 PM

In just his second game back, Zach LaVine scored 18 points in 20 minutes against the Heat on Monday.

He's showing little to no rust right now, but the Bulls are going to continue to build him up slowly. He finished 7-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from the line with five rebounds, five assists, two steals and two triples, posting a 31.1 usage rate in his first two games -- that would easily be a career-high, but it's obviously a small sample size. He has to be owned in all formats and his value will trend up as his restrictions are reduced.
Jan 15 - 6:58 PM

Updating a previous report, there is currently no MRI scheduled for Tyler Johnson (ankle).

The Heat want to wait and see how he feels tomorrow morning before going through with the MRI, but the fact that they're even waiting to make that decision is a very positive sign. While he grabbed at his knee after the injury, after being examined in the locker room they determined he's dealing with a sprained left ankle, so it seems like he's avoided a serious injury. For now, we'll consider him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.
