Dwyane Wade scored 21 points in the first half and made several key plays late to help the Heat hold off the charging Sixers for a 113-103 win in Philadelphia for Game 2, tying their series at 1-1.

Wade was on fire in the first half and helped the Heat outscore the Sixers 34-13 in the second quarter. He finished by hitting 11-of-18 shots and 6-of-8 free throws for 28 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, and added a steal and dunk in the fourth quarter, a great pass to James Johnson, and a dagger jumper with 43 seconds left in the game. Wade was gassed, but still came through in the fourth, when Philly was chucking ill-advised shots and turning the ball over too often. Game 3 is Thursday in Miami. Wade's 28 were a team record for points off the bench in a Heat playoff game.

Damian Lillard acknowledged that he tweaked his left shoulder during Tuesday's loss to the Rockets.

Lillard got tangled up with Nene on a drive to the hoop towards the closing minutes of the first quarter of Tuesday's game, although he played through it, and wound up dropping in 34 points across 39 minutes. Lillard tends to always play through his various ailments, and it's worth noting that the injury is to his non-shooting arm, but we'll be monitoring Portland's injury report with the Trail Blazers on the second leg of a back-to-back set.

The Pacers could look to trade either Darren Collison or Cory Joseph this season.

Collison and Joseph essentially split the point guard duties in Indiana, but the Pacers' management is very high on Aaron Holiday and would like to see him earn more consistent minutes. Both Joseph and Collison are on expiring deals, and they could be solid additions to a contending team, so those will be two names to watch as the trade deadline approaches.

The Cavs are reportedly shopping Alec Burks and Rodney Hood.

Burks has played pretty well since landing in Cleveland, but the Cavs would probably be more than willing to move him if it resulted in a draft pick; the same goes for Hood. Both of these guys are in an ideal situation with the Cavs, so a move away from Cleveland could really only hurt them.

Doc Rivers said he's expecting Lou Williams to miss roughly two weeks of action with his hamstring injury.

"They say it’s not a bad hamstring but I’ve never heard of a good one," said Rivers when discussing Williams' timetable. With Williams on the sidelines, there will be more minutes available for guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Milos Teodosic and Tyrone Wallace.

Marc Gasol acknowledged during a recent interview that the ankle injury he suffered against the Raptors back on Nov. 27 has been bothering him.

Gasol has been seriously struggling through the month of December, connecting on just 31.5% of his shots to go with averages of 9.8 points, 5.2 boards, 4.0 assists, 1.0 triple, 1.4 swats and 2.4 turnovers per game, but it doesn't sound like he intends to take any time off. "To me, it’s all about winning," said Gasol. "Instead of taking maybe five days to recover, six days to recover, maybe it takes two or three weeks to recover because you try to play through something." For what it's worth, Gasol is not on the injury report for tonight's game.

Fred VanVleet got the start with Kawhi Leonard out with a hip injury on Tuesday and had a career-high 10 assists by halftime.

He finished with five points, six rebounds, a career-high 14 assists and a 3-pointer in 29 minutes. VanVleet should return to the bench soon, assuming Kawhi's injury isn't serious, but if you used him in DFS tonight, he came through in a big way. If Kawhi's out again on Wednesday against the Warriors, FVV will be a popular play again in DFS.

Kyle Lowry picked a trio of the league's best defensive guards to break out of a slump against on Tuesday, hitting 8-of-13 shots and four 3-pointers for 21 points, five rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a block in a 123-99 rout of the Clippers.

There it is. Lowry came in really struggling, scoring seven or fewer points in his previous four games, hitting 4-of-28 shots along the way. That all changed tonight, and the fact he did it against the defense of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Patrick Beverley and Avery Bradley is impressive, to say the least. Ding, dong baby, the slump is dead!
Dec 12 - 1:04 AM

Bryn Forbes started again and hit 8-of-14 shots, 5-of-5 3-pointers and 3-of-3 free throws for a season-high 24 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, three assists and a steal in 32 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Suns.

He came out on fire tonight and stayed that way, as the Suns refused to guard him. Derrick White fizzled again and Forbes has now scored in double digits in three straight games, making him worth a look in most leagues, despite playing for the wishy-washy Spurs. Just know that this may end up being his best game of the season, as he had everything working against one of the league's worst teams.
Dec 11 - 10:57 PM

De'Anthony Melton started at point guard again on Tuesday and hit 7-of-16 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and five turnovers in 33 minutes.

Devin Booker was out with his hamstring injury and Elie Okobo is in the G-League, clearing the way for Melton to run the show in Phoenix. Melton's averaging 14 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 3-pointers on 43 percent shooting over his last five, and we've been touting him as a pickup for about a week. It's officially time to move on him.
Dec 11 - 10:51 PM

Chris Paul had 11 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and a block for his first triple-double of the season on Tuesday, but hit just 2-of-12 shots in the win.

The Rockets shook it up tonight, starting Eric Gordon over James Ennis, scored a season-high number of points in the paint, and saw their bench, which is the lowest scoring one in the league at 28.2 points per game, come through with 37 points in the tough win.
Dec 11 - 10:29 PM

James Ennis suffered a right hamstring injury on Tuesday night, and as we feared, will not return to the game.

He missed time earlier this season with the same injury, and while it only kept him out for three games, hamstring injuries are tricky in the NBA - especially when recurring. Eric Gordon, Gerald Green and Danuel House are all playing well tonight, and should continue to do so as long as Ennis is sidelined.
