Magic spokesman Joel Glass revealed on Wednesday that Jonathon Simmons underwent right wrist surgery on April 24.

Simmons sat out the final 12 games of the 2017-18 season due to what the Magic labeled a "right wrist contusion," but after visiting a hand specialist and getting an MRI after the conclusion of the season, it was concluded that surgical intervention was necessary. The Magic still haven't offered an official timetable for Simmons, but he has until late-September to get himself right for training camp.

Domantas Sabonis (knee) and T.J. Leaf (ankle) are questionable for Monday's matchup with the Timberwolves.

Both Sabonis and Leaf did not play on Saturday, but we'll have a better idea on their status following Monday morning's shootaround. If they're out again, Myles Turner should see an uptick in minutes, as will Kyle O'Quinn. Check back for another update tomorrow morning.

Kevin Knox (sprained left ankle) underwent an MRI on his injured ankle, which confirmed the sprain, and he will be re-evaluated in one week.

Knox will miss at least the Knicks next three games and likely more. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported last night that Knox would miss 2-4 weeks and this doesn't go against that. He's set to miss time, which elevates Noah Vonleh and Allonzo Trier in the rotation. Mitchell Robinson might also see more time.
Oct 21 - 2:43 PM

Larry Nance (right ankle sprain) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Hawks.

Nance did not appear in either of the first two games for the Cavs and might miss his third straight on Sunday. Sam Dekker, Ante Zizic, and even Kevin Love will see an uptick in minutes if Nance were to miss again. We should know more soon.

Will Barton (right hip) is listed as out in the game notes for Sunday's game against the Warriors.

Barton injured his hip in Saturday's game and we have yet to here of the severity of the injury. Trey Lyles, Juan Hernangomez, Torrey Craig, and maybe Malik Beasley all have a chance to gain time in Barton's absence.

Omari Spellman (left ankle sprain) is set to return to action on Sunday against against the Cavs.

Spellman tweaked his ankle in the Hawks season-opener on Wednesday and missed their game on Friday. He produced in just eight minutes before his injury and is an interesting DFS flier on Sunday.

There is a strong expectation among the teams that the NBA will announce any disciplinary action for Saturday's melee on Sunday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Woj says this is because the Rockets are scheduled to play the Clippers on Sunday evening. Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, and Brandon Ingram will all be suspended, it's just a matter of how much. It's highly unlikely that CP3 will be available Sunday.
Oct 21 - 11:39 AM

JaVale McGee hit 7-of-11 shots and 2-of-3 free throws for 16 points, six rebounds, two assists and five more blocks in 20 minutes of Saturday's loss to the Rockets.

OK then! McGee backed up his opening-night line of 13 points, eight boards and three blocks with tonight's gem, and he's starting to look very real. If you picked up Boban Marjanovic recently, or are in need of a center, it's time to grab McGee. It's a small sample, but the role looks stable and he's jelling well with his teammates. Go get him.

Rajon Rondo took exception to Chris Paul trying to gouge his eyeballs out, and threw a punch at Paul during a fourth-quarter melee on Saturday, causing both players (and Brandon Ingram) to be ejected.

Paul and Rondo were arguing after Brandon Ingram shoved James Harden in frustration and a fight broke out. Rondo was really just defending himself after CP3 went after his face, but he threw a punch. Suspensions are coming and we're guessing Rondo will get fewer games off than Ingram and Paul. Rondo finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a 3-pointer, and hit 6-of-8 shots on the night.
Oct 21 - 1:12 AM

Brandon Ingram was ejected for throwing a punch in the second half on Saturday.

He has a big suspension coming his way here. Ingram was in an altercation with James Harden, he walked away, and then came back into the scuffle and threw punches. If it's under three games, it would be a surprise and it may even be closer to 10, so Ingram's fantasy owners should be planning on not having him this week.
Oct 21 - 1:08 AM

Chris Paul put his fingers in Rajon Rondo's face and pushed him violently, causing Rondo to react with a punch, which Paul followed up with a punch of his own, causing both players to be ejected on Saturday. Brandon Ingram, who also hit Paul with a punch and started the melee by shoving James Harden, was also ejected with about four minutes left in the game.

Suspensions are coming for all three players and Paul's and Ingram's will be the longest. Paul had 28 points, seven boards, 10 assists, a steal and three 3-pointers before departing, but unfortunately for his owners, he's about to get some time off.
Oct 21 - 1:08 AM

Blake Griffin scored 33 points with 12 rebounds, five assists, no turnovers and five 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Bulls during a 118-116 win on Saturday.

He's off to a great start with this one and a 26/8/6 line in the opener, but of course these games came against the Bulls and Nets. Still, Griffin looked poised for a bounce-back season after subpar 2017-18 season. Plus, Griffin is among the league leaders for time of possession, excluding point guards. He'll be the heart of the Pistons offense.
