Latest Headlines

Michael Thomas caught 7-of-9 targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 7 win over the Ravens.

The catches were Thomas' most since Week 3, while the score was his first since Week 2. Surprisingly, Thomas has failed to clear 10 targets or 75 yards in each of his past three games. He has a tough Week 8 matchup in Xavier Rhodes and the Vikings, though Rhodes could end up missing the game with an ankle injury.
Oct 21 - 7:45 PM

Dak Prescott completed 22-of-35 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown, chipping in another 33 yards and one score on the ground in the Cowboys' Week 7 loss to the Redskins.

Oct 21 - 7:41 PM

Alvin Kamara rushed 17 times for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 7 win over the Ravens, adding two catches for 11 additional yards.

Kamara got the start and out-touched Mark Ingram 19-14 one game after Ingram out-touched Kamara 18-9 in his 2018 debut. Both players received goal line looks, but only Kamara cashed his in. We would expect today's touch distribution to be closer to the norm than Week 5's going forward. With Taysom Hill emerging as a bigger nuisance, however, Kamara will remain a mid-range to low-end RB1 for Week 8 in Minnesota.
Oct 21 - 7:37 PM

Raheem Mostert rushed seven times for 59 yards and hauled in all four of his targets for 19 yards in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Rams.

With Matt Breida in and out of the game after aggravating his ankle injury, Mostert was given the chance to build on his big performance last Monday night, and he certainly delivered. Mostert had 48 yards on his first four touches, and he easily out-gained Alfred Morris despite seeing two fewer carries. It is concerning the 49ers continued to give Morris carries on Sunday, but Mostert needs to be rostered in all leagues.
Oct 21 - 7:33 PM

Ezekiel Elliott handled 15 carries for 34 yards, tacking on two catches for the nine yards in the Cowboys' Week 7 loss to the Redskins.

Washington's defense kept Elliott bottled at the line of scrimmage, permitting just 2.2 YPC. He was in position to score on the goal line late in the fourth quarter, but Dak Prescott kept the ball and scampered over the middle and crossed the plain himself instead. Although his six targets were encouraging, it's the second straight week Zeke has been held under 12 yards receiving, and already the fourth time he's failed to reach that mark this season. His on-field usage and involvement remains that of a true bell-cow, though, keeping him as a weekly top-five option despite porous results in Dallas' passing game. The Cowboys are on bye in Week 8.
Oct 21 - 7:31 PM

C.J. Beathard completed 15-of-27 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Rams.

Beathard had a rough first half, turning the ball over twice including a lost fumble and failing to complete a pass to a receiver. He did find George Kittle for several big plays, however, including a 10-yard touchdown with just 10 seconds left to at least give the 49ers a chance. Unfortunately for San Francisco, he could not build on that drive in the second half, and he tossed another interception on a pass thrown slightly behind Kittle in the third quarter. Beathard has to take some blame for the showing, but he was constantly under pressure and ended up taking seven sacks. The road will not get any easier in Arizona against an underrated defense next week.
Oct 21 - 7:29 PM

John Brown caught 7-of-7 targets for 134 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Week 7 loss to the Saints.

Coming off back-to-back quiet games, Brown set new season highs in catches and yards. 56 of his yards came on a dig route where Brown was allowed to run free. He got tackled at the two-yard line. Despite the big day, Brown did get out-targeted by Michael Crabtree. Brown's big-play volatility keeps him on the WR2/3 borderline. The Panthers are on deck for Week 8.
Oct 21 - 7:23 PM

Jared Goff completed 18-of-24 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' Week 7 win over the 49ers.

With the 49ers turning it over for fun, Goff did not have to do much in this one. He still managed a respectable fantasy outing with two touchdowns. The first came on a great route by Brandin Cooks in the second quarter, and the second was on a screen pass to Todd Gurley in the fourth. After a hot run, Goff has now thrown for just 403 yards and two scores total in his last two games. He should fare better next week against the Packers.
Oct 21 - 7:18 PM

Drew Brees completed 22-of-30 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints' 24-23, Week 7 win over the Ravens.

The scores Nos. 500 and 501 of Brees' Hall-of-Fame career. He is just the fourth member of the 500-touchdown club. The Saints were methodical in the road victory, rushing 39 times while trying to gobble up clock. No. 2 quarterback Taysom Hill remained extremely involved as a red zone gadget player. Hill is little more than a nuisance, though he is curbing both Brees and Alvin Kamara's ultimate upside. The Saints are headed on the road to Minnesota's dome for Week 8.
Oct 21 - 7:15 PM

Todd Gurley rushed 15 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns and caught 4-of-5 targets for 23 yards and another score in the Rams' Week 7 win over the 49ers.

He scored a touchdown because that is what he does, but Gurley was mostly held in check in the first half. That changed in the third quarter when he went for nine and 18 yards on back-to-back carries, and he managed to find the end zone again from one yard out later that quarter. Following a long punt return, he ended his day and any doubt about the outcome of the game with a 12-yard touchdown catch on a screen pass in the fourth. That score gave Gurley 14 for the season and tied him with Priest Holmes for the most touchdowns through seven games in NFL history. He now has three games with three touchdowns this season and eight total the last three weeks. He will look to keep things going next week against the Packers.
Oct 21 - 7:15 PM

Alshon Jeffery caught 7-of-10 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 7 loss to Carolina.

Through no fault of Jeffery’s, the Eagles wound up losing this game despite building a 17-0 halftime lead. Jeffery dominated his matchup against Panthers CB James Bradberry, frequently looking like a man among boys and whipping Bradberry for an early 11-yard touchdown on an inside move. Alshon has been an elite producer since returning from his shoulder injury. He will face a talented but downward-spiraling Jaguars defense next.
Oct 21 - 7:00 PM

Zach Ertz caught 9-of-11 targets for 138 yards in the Eagles’ Week 7 loss to the Panthers.

Ertz was legitimately unstoppable, relentlessly beating the Panthers’ linebackers and safeties on slants and exploiting every hole known to man in Carolina’s zone coverage. Ertz came oh-so close to a second-quarter touchdown, but he was tackled just short of the goalline. As the NFL’s premier route-running tight end, Ertz has also been fantasy football’s most-consistent TE1. Even against the Jaguars in London in Week 8, Ertz will be a top-three option at the position at worst.
