Citing "several sources," SI's Tony Pauline reports the Eagles' target if they trade into the top-ten picks would be Mississippi State DT Fletcher Cox, not Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill.

There's been enough Cox buzz coming out of Philly that we're inclined to believe Pauline's report. The Eagles have shown pre-draft interest in Tannehill, but SI's Peter King reported Monday that it's not enough to move up particularly high. Jacksonville at No. 7 is shaping up as a hotspot in the draft. The Jaguars want to trade down, and teams could leap into that position to secure an impact pass rusher or the draft's third-best quarterback.

FS Eric Weddle believes he's headed into his final year with the Chargers.

Due $7.5 million in the final year of his contract, Weddle is unhappy the Bolts haven't played ball on an extension. A 2007 second-rounder, Weddle turned 30 in January. He's spent his entire career in San Diego, and been a playmaker throughout. He remained one of the league's top safeties in 2014.

Giants signed WR James Jones, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.

With Rueben Randle ineffective and Victor Cruz rehabbing, the G-Men are giving themselves veteran insurance behind superstar Odell Beckam. Jones is reuniting with OC Ben McAdoo, whom he played for in Green Bay from 2007-13. Jones appeared withered during his lone year in Oakland last season, but offers a red-zone threat from the slot. Jones averaged a pathetic 9.1 yards per catch last year, but it was partly a function of Oakland's pop-gun offense. Jones boasted a 13.9 mark before 2014. Realistically, he's competing for No. 4 or 5 duties.

The St Louis Post-Dispatch reports Jets DL Sheldon Richardson was arrested in Missouri earlier this month for resisting arrest and "various traffic violations."

Richardson was arrested on July 14 for his role in an "apparent high-speed road race." Driving as fast as 143 miles per hour, Richardson is accused of trying to elude an officer attempting to pull him over. All the while, he had two other men and a "12-year-old child" in the car. It's a concerning, embarrassing incident for a player who earned a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy just 12 days before his arrest. It's unclear if Richardson's latest issue will lead to further league discipline. Richardson is a budding star on the field, but has always been a bit of a knucklehead off of it.

Dolphins LT Branden Albert (knee) is unsure if he'll be ready for Week 1.

"I told everybody it’s going to be sooner than later," Albert said Thursday. "I’m ahead of schedule. We don’t want to push it too much. This is a good starting point." It's a bit of a surprise, as Albert opened camp on the active roster, while the Dolphins spun sunshine about his status all offseason. All we know for sure is that he's avoiding the reserve/PUP list since he wasn't placed on active/PUP. Albert still has a real shot at being ready for Week 1.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports a "sizable gap" remains between Russell Wilson and the Seahawks ahead of Friday's artificial extension deadline.

Per Garafolo, "only significant concessions by one or both parties" will get a deal done. Garafolo reports the Seahawks have offered to make Wilson one of the three highest-paid quarterbacks in the league, and are willing to best Cam Newton's five-year, $103.8 million extension. That's not good enough for Wilson, who understands that historical precedent dictates he becomes the highest-paid player in the league, at least until Andrew Luck gets a new deal.

Victor Cruz (knee) has avoided the PUP list to begin training camp, but will be "eased in."

Cruz has made surprisingly-fast progress since tearing his patellar tendon last Week 6, and is tentatively expected to play in the preseason. He should be ready to go for Week 1. With Odell Beckham established as one of the best wideouts in the NFL, Cruz is no longer a WR1/2, but checks in as an upside WR3.

ESPN reports the Rams have had "continued dialogue" with contract-year QB Nick Foles about an extension.

Per reported Nick Wagoner, "nothing appears imminent," but GM Les Snead believes a deal is possible before the end of the season. Translation, talks won't be cut off after Week 1. Locking up Foles now would be a "buy low" on a player who could end up staying low.

Tyler Eifert declared himself 100 percent on the first day of Bengals camp.

He indeed avoided active/PUP and should be all systems go after suffering a year-ending elbow injury in Week 1 last season, and undergoing a shoulder surgery while he was on the shelf. The 21st overall pick in the 2013 draft, Eifert conceded he hasn't felt 100 percent since 2014 OTAs. Eifert offers some breakout potential and is priced reasonably in most forms of fantasy.

Cowboys placed RB Darren McFadden on the active/PUP list with a hamstring injury.

Act surprised. With his career running on fumes, McFadden has been battling a hamstring issue since OTAs. We'd like to say he's day to day for the start of camp, but you never know with someone who has suffered as many injuries as DMC. McFadden's roster spot is far from assured. It's possible he's eventually replaced by free agent Chris Johnson.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt has confirmed Marcus Mariota is the team's starter.

Speaking about the Titans' "quarterback competition," Whisenhunt was emphatic that it was "after Marcus." It's not in any way surprising, but the Titans aren't going to make the No. 2 overall pick jump through any artificial hoops on his way to No. 1 status.

Terrance West got the first rep in team drills as the Browns opened training camp Thursday.

Coach Mike Pettine said he will mix it up by day and by drill. But at the very least, West getting the first rep on the first day of camp shows he's not buried on the depth chart as previously speculated. Isaiah Crowell, who got the second rep Thursday, remains our favorite for early-down work. Rookie Duke Johnson will also push for a significant role in this muddled, hot-hand situation.
