Colts selected Stanford QB Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

Surprise. It's a selection that's been in the making for nearly two years, though the notion that a player some consider to be the top quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning would end up in Indianapolis seemed absurd until last fall. Refurbishing the house that Manning built will be no easy task, but Luck has the arm strength, athleticism and intangibles to make it a quick rebuild. He won't be as dynamic of a fantasy player as Cam Newton was as a rookie, but his dynasty league potential is through the roof.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tom Brady (knee, questionable) will play Week 13 against the Rams.

Schefter also reports Julian Edelman (ankle), Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder), and Chris Hogan (back) are "good to go." With Rob Gronkowski (back) done for the year, Brady will have to lean on Edelman and Bennett especially in the passing game, but Hogan and rookie Malcolm Mitchell should have expanded roles as well. Even with Gronk out, Brady remains a high-end QB1.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Eagles are expected to "make a strong push" to sign impending free agent DeSean Jackson this offseason

Aaron Rodgers (hamstring, questionable) is expected to play Sunday in Week 13 against the Texans.

Rodgers' status was never in much doubt after putting in a limited week of practice. After getting off to a relatively slow start, Rodgers has gone ballistic over his last six games, contributing 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions during that span. Even at less than 100 percent, he'll be an elite QB1 Sunday against Houston.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Colin Kaepernick will void his contract after the season to become a free agent.

Rapoport added voiding the deal would not "rule out a return" to the 49ers next season. Kaepernick is set to make $14.5 million in base salary if he sticks around in San Francisco next season, and it is unlikely he would get much more than the $7.5 million per year Robert Griffin III landed from the Browns on the open market even after a strong finish. Perhaps he is so ready to get away from the 49ers he will take his chances, but this is more likely a negotiating ploy.
Dec 4 - 8:28 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jordan Matthews (ankle, questionable) is expected to miss Sunday's Week 13 game against the Bengals.

It would be the first game he's missed in his three-year career. Matthews is still feeling the effects of a sprained right ankle he suffered in Monday night's loss to Green Bay. He tried to practice on Thursday but never felt right. Beat writer Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advanced Media called him a "true 50/50 game-time decision" for Week 13, but it looks like the decision has already been made. Nelson Agholor will return to the lineup this week in place of Matthews. He was benched for Week 12.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Marvin Jones is "a long-shot to play" Week 13 against the Saints.

According to the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett, Jones "moved cautiously while taking sporadic reps" at Friday's practice, so this report is anything but a surprise. With Jones likely to sit, Golden Tate, Anquan Boldin, and Eric Ebron should take on bigger roles in the passing game.
Dec 4 - 8:23 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Mark Ingram (toe) is expected to play Week 13 against the Lions.

Ingram was non-committal about his availability on Friday, but he did say the toe "felt good" during Friday's practice. Still, he could be forced into a more limited role because of the injury. Even in a good matchup, Ingram is a risky RB2 play. Tim Hightower deserves a look in the FLEX.
Dec 4 - 8:17 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports DeVante Parker (questionable, back) isn't expected to play in Week 13 against the Ravens.

Coach Adam Gase said he would "err on the side of caution" with Parker this week. Parker got in some side-work Friday and looks like he'll only miss one game. Jarvis Landry should see more targets with Parker out, with Kenny Stills and rookie Leonte Carroo playing bigger roles on the outside.
Dec 4 - 8:14 AM

Michael Crabtree (ankle, questionable) will play in Sunday's Week 13 game against the Bills.

So will Latavius Murray (ankle, questionable). Crabtree hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 7 but recorded a season-high 110 yards in last week's win over Carolina. He'll be in the WR2 mix this week.
Dec 4 - 8:12 AM

Lions promoted WR T.J. Jones from their practice squad.

Lions beat writers expressed concern about Marvin Jones' health all week, and the activation of T.J. suggests the Lions also have concerns about Marvin's availability against the Saints. This will be a situation to monitor into Sunday morning. Per the Detroit Free Press, Marvin "moved cautiously while taking sporadic reps" in the portion of Friday's practice that was open to the media. Marvin is listed as questionable with a thigh injury.
Dec 3 - 5:33 PM

Patriots placed TE Rob Gronkowski (back surgery) on injured reserve.

The Patriots already designated a player to return, so he's done for the rest of the season/playoffs. Gronkowski underwent his third back surgery Friday but is expected to make a full recovery. He should be healthy for the start of 2017 OTAs.
