The Packers have agreed to a restructured contract with Donald Driver.

"We have agreed to terms with the Packers but need to review it tomorrow to finalize," said Driver's agent. Driver himself tweeted, "When I said I will be a Packer for life. It is now true. Packer for life." Driver was never going to return at his scheduled $4.3 million in salary and bonuses, so a revised contract was necessary. While the deal makes sense for a Packers legend, Driver may block second-year receiver Randall Cobb from taking on a significant offensive role.

Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) and Jacoby Brissett (thumb) both practiced on Wednesday.

Garoppolo reportedly is "still in pain and doesn't yet have full mobility" in his throwing shoulder, but he didn't look any worse for the wear while throwing at Wednesday's practice. He and Brissett split the first-team reps. Don't expect gamesman coach Bill Belichick to name a starter until the end of the week.

DeSean Jackson (ankle) is not practicing on Wednesday.

Jackson went into Week 3 with an ankle ailment, but he played through it and ran right by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for a 44-yard touchdown. He appeared to re-tweak the ankle but quickly returned. At this point, we'd expect Jackson to play Sunday against the Browns. Check back Thursday.

Coach John Harbaugh expressed disappointment in the Ravens' running game and said he's looking at potential changes in the backfield.

"More than changes," Harbaugh said. "It's about seeking to improve." Justin Forsett has been dreadful with just 98 scoreless yards on 31 attempts (3.2 YPC) as the "starter." Terrance West hasn't been much better with 119 scoreless yards on 33 carries (3.6 YPC), but he recorded the Ravens' longest run of the young season last week, a 15-yarder to open the third quarter. Rookie Kenneth Dixon (knee) is nearing a return and will likely be given a shot to handle a chunk of the load.

Drew Brees said his "trust factor and confidence level" in Coby Fleener "just continues to go up."

"We’re still growing, big time," Brees said. "But I think there were some things that happened out here [Monday night] where it’s the way that I envisioned. The way that we’ve been talking about, the way I've been communicating to him and we’ve been working on it during practice. So when those things begin to happen, the trust factor and the confidence level just continues to go up." Fleener exploded for a 7-109-1 line on 11 targets in the Week 3 loss to the Falcons and will again be a mid-range TE1 in a dream matchup with the Chargers this Sunday.

Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.

As expected. Stewart is fully expected to miss multiple games with his strained hammy. Cameron Artis-Payne, Fozzy Whittaker, and Mike Tolbert will again carry the running-back load Week 4 against the Falcons.
Sep 28 - 12:25 PM

Sammy Watkins (foot) is not practicing Wednesday.

Watkins is expected to test his foot either today or Thursday and will then make a decision on his Week 4 status. His week isn't starting off on the right foot.
Sep 28 - 12:22 PM

Rob Gronkowski (hamstring) said he's experienced "no setbacks" since last Thursday night's win over the Texans.

In his first action of the season, Gronkowski splayed just 14-of-64 snaps in a very limited offensive role. The Patriots still steamrolled the Texans. Gronk should be closer to full go this week against the Bills and will be a top-end TE1 since he'll likely be in the game for red-zone situations at the very least.

Dez Bryant (knee) will not practice Wednesday.

The Cowboys say Tuesday's MRI results aren't yet known. Yeah, okay, right. Beat writers remain in the dark regarding Bryant's injury and status. It's truly anybody's guess whether Bryant will play against the 49ers.

Coach Doug Pederson had nothing but praise for rookie RB Wendell Smallwood's performance following the Week 3 win over the Steelers.

"He's the same type of runner that we felt he was coming out of college and what we saw in preseason," said Pederson. "He's a big, powerful guy. He's a downhill guy. He's a one-cut runner. He did a great job for us." At the link below, Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski broke down a bunch of Smallwood's runs from the win, and his burst through the hole was incredible. He also showed great awareness to stay in bounds on a 3rd-and-7 run late in the fourth quarter to keep the clock moving. "To get the first down and stay in bounds as a rookie is tremendous," said Pederson. Smallwood missed much of training camp with a quad injury, but he looks poised to take on a big role in this backfield with Ryan Mathews again banged up and struggling to make plays.

CSN New England's Mike Giardi reports Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) is "still in pain and doesn't yet have full mobility in his throwing shoulder."

There have been reports Garoppolo has made steady progress, and the Patriots are "hopeful" he'll play Week 4 against the Bills, but it doesn't sound like he's anywhere near 100 percent. Meanwhile, rookie Jacoby Brissett (thumb) replied "oh yeah" when asked if he's feeling in tip-top shape. If the Patriots were to play today, Brissett would likely be the one under center.
Sep 28 - 10:03 AM

Kendall Wright (hamstring) is expected to practice fully this week and make his season debut Sunday against the Texans.

Wright has been out since early August with the strained hamstring. He returned to limited practices two weeks ago, but now should have "no limitations." The Titans could really use Wright to help jumpstart their No. 24 passing offense. Rookie Tajae Sharpe has taken a step back on the outside, and veterans Harry Douglas and Andre Johnson are providing nothing. Wright should immediately take back over slot duties from Douglas and is worth watching in PPR leagues.
