Raiders waived LS Nick Guess.

With regular long-snapper Jon Condo (concussion) back to full health, Guess was no longer needed.

Colts acquired LB Sio Moore from the Raiders in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2016.

We're going to go out on a limb and guess this deal works out better than Colts GM Ryan Grigson's Jerry Hughes and Trent Richardson trades. For whatever reason, Moore was immediately disliked by the new Jack Del Rio coaching staff in Oakland despite piling up 7.5 sacks, 140 tackles, and two forced fumbles in his first two NFL seasons. The 66th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Moore turned 25 years old in May. He can play inside and outside linebacker and should become a contributor as the season moves along. The Colts also acquire Moore's contract, which puts him under Indy's control for near-minimum base salaries the next two seasons. The Colts should win this one pretty handily.

Seahawks signed RB Fred Jackson to a one-year contract.

Robert Turbin (ankle) is out indefinitely, and the Seahawks don't trust Christine Michael as a clear-cut backup. Long tight with Marshawn Lynch from their time together in Buffalo, Jackson is 34 1/2 years old but still set career highs in receptions and receiving yards last season, and can get what's blocked as a runner. It's possible he'll maintain the Seahawks' No. 2 running back job even when Turbin returns. Turbin was unimpressive this preseason coming off hip surgery, lacking burst and change of direction en route to a 16-36 rushing line.

The Denver Post suggests Cody Latimer might not open the season as the Broncos' No. 3 receiver.

Latimer impressed in Denver's exhibition opener, but he was a disappointment in the final three games, getting outplayed by Andre Caldwell and Jordan Norwood. The Post's Troy Renck suggests Caldwell and Norwood could "receive opportunities before (Latimer)" behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. At this point, Latimer is barely even a consideration in re-draft leagues.

Jaguars waived RB Storm Johnson.

The No. 222 overall pick of last year's draft, Johnson made one start and notched 29 carries as a rookie, but averaged just 3.0 yards per tote. He's pretty much the definition of a replacement-level back. The Jaguars have also waived CB Jeremy Harris, TE Ben Koyack, WR Neal Sterling, DE Cap Capi, DT Richard Ash, DE Camaron Beard, WR Kasey Closs, OG Will Corbin, TE Connor Hamlett, DE Ike Igbinosun, WR Erik Lora, OG Chris Reed, CB Rashaad Reynolds, LB Todd Thomas, CB Peyton Thompson and WR Tony Washington.

LeSean McCoy (hamstring) has vowed to be ready for Week 1.

McCoy made the proclamation in a text message to ESPN's Josina Anderson. He was more diplomatic following Friday's practice, saying "we'll see." Coach Rex Ryan has generally suggested McCoy will be ready to go against the Colts. Our first concrete clue will come with the Bills' first official injury report on Wednesday.

Dolphins released QB Josh Freeman.

Freeman was previously released in July before being re-signed four days later. The former first-rounder's downward spiral continued unabated this summer, as he completed just 23-of-48 preseason passes (47.9 percent). It's been a bizarre career for the now 27-year-old quarterback. Freeman might not get another chance.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt says his running back usage will be game-plan specific.

Whiz doesn't like his running back corps, so he's trying to become an amateur Bill Belichick. Bishop Sankey will presumably be the lead back when the Titans try to go uptempo, and David Cobb when Whiz decides he needs to ground-and-pound. Dexter McCluster and Antonio Andrews will mix in at miscellaneous intervals. We (slightly) prefer Cobb to Sankey in fantasy, but neither is more than an RB3.

Cardinals acquired QB Matt Barkley from the Eagles in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.

The "condition" is Philadelphia gets a seventh-round pick if Barkley is on Arizona's roster for six games this year. The Cardinals' interest in Barkley has been rumored since he came out of USC, but Arizona brass didn't deem Barkley worthy of a day-two draft pick at that time. He went 98th overall to Philadelphia in 2013 and has since disappointed in preseason games. Barkley was probably going to get cut by the Eagles, perhaps in favor of Tim Tebow. In Arizona, weak-armed and barely-mobile Barkley will likely open the season on the third string behind Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton. The Barkley trade bodes poorly for Logan Thomas' chances of making the Cardinals' 53.

Duke Johnson remains in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Coach Mike Pettine said Friday that Johnson would "absolutely" play in Week 1 if he's cleared by then, but there was no real update with Johnson having yet to pass all his tests. Isaiah Crowell will be the Browns' Week 1 starter. The Browns would likely mix in Johnson sparingly if he's active against the Jets.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien is unsure if Jadeveon Clowney (knee) will be on a snap count in the opener.

The implication being, not only will Clowney be active, he could be full steam. It's the best-case scenario for Clowney after he was held out of practice until August 20. Ultimately, a snap count is likely, but Clowney's recovery appears to be exceeding the Texans' expectations. If Clowney can simply resemble the form that made him the top pick of last year's draft, the Texans are going to have one of the league's most terrifying pass rushing duos.

Bucs placed WR Kenny Bell on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.

It's a bitter disappointment for a day-three pick who entered the league on a wave of momentum. Nebraska's all-time leading receiver, Bell tore up the Combine, and had an inside track on No. 3 duties. He missed the Bucs' final two preseason games, however, and wasn't shining in practice. Now set to "redshirt" his rookie year, Bell won't be guaranteed a roster spot in 2016.
