Redskins coach Mike Shanahan stated Monday that Leonard Hankerson has played well enough to earn a full-time starting job going forward.

Hankerson will start at X receiver until Pierre Garcon (foot) returns, and then likely kick over to Z receiver, replacing Josh Morgan. Although Hankerson didn't light up the box score in Week 3 against the Bengals, he secured four of his seven targets for 56 yards and was an impact blocker in the run game. Through three games, Hankerson has six grabs for 124 yards and a touchdown. He should be owned in the heavy majority of 12-team fantasy leagues.

Devonta Freeman (concussion) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

It's not a good sign for his availability Sunday against Tampa Bay. Tevin Coleman contributed 58 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in Monday night's win at Seattle and would draw another start if Freeman can't go for Week 12.

Marshon Lattimore (ankle) was seen in a walking boot on Wednesday.

Lattimore suffered the injury in Week 11 and didn't practice on Wednesday. The Saints re-signed Sterling Moore earlier this week, suggesting that Lattimore won't be available Sunday in Los Angeles. The first-round rookie has been even better than advertised this year, earning PFF's No. 4 cornerback grade out of 119 qualifiers. Lattimore would be a big loss, though Kenny Vaccaro (groin) is expected to return this week following a two-game absence.

Chiefs signed CB Darrelle Revis to a two-year contract.

Revis had some in-season interest from the Chargers, but there hadn't been any updates on him since September. His signing is a splash move for a Chiefs secondary that's struggled opposite Marcus Peters. It's anyone guess how much Revis has left after missing the last three months and coming off a heavy decline in 2016. Revis played the first five years of his career with DC Bob Sutton, so he should be a strong scheme fit.

Julio Jones (ankle, knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Jones has been dealing with ankle issues for weeks, but the knee injury is new. It's possible the Falcons are managing his reps coming off a Monday night game. Even at less than 100 percent, Jones has a blowup Week 12 matchup with the Bucs.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Smith-Schuster is dealing with a minor hamstring injury. It's not believed to be serious but with Pittsburgh hosting the Packers on Sunday night, his status will need to be monitored throughout the week. The 21-year-old leads all rookies with 568 receiving yards this season.

Jacoby Brissett (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 12 against the Titans.

As of earlier today, Brissett was still in the concussion protocol, though all signs point to him suiting up Sunday versus Tennessee. Only Denver and Houston have allowed more passing touchdowns than the Titans this year. That puts Brissett on the streaming radar for Week 12.

Lions claimed DE Dwight Freeney off waivers from the Seahawks.

Freeney will be reunited with Jim Caldwell, who coached him throughout his tenure in Indianapolis. The 37-year-old logged three sacks in four games for the Seahawks before being waived on Tuesday. Freeney is understandably past his prime but can still be a helpful pass-rusher for the Lions down the stretch. He also provides some insurance for Ziggy Ansah, who has battled injuries the past several weeks.

Tom Brady (Achilles) didn't practice Wednesday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Brady is "fine," but any Achilles' issue is a concern. It sounds like Brady's practice reps will be managed this week. Brady remains on track to start Sunday against Miami.

Coach Kyle Shanahan announced C.J. Beathard will start Week 12 against the Seahawks.

After getting their first win of the season last time out against the Giants, Shanahan will give Beathard another game under center coming out of the bye, and Jimmy Garoppolo will continue to have to wait his turn with his new team. We'd still expect to see Garoppolo before the season is over. Beathard has managed back-to-back top-12 fantasy finishes and is on the streaming radar once again at home against an overrated defense missing several key components.

Coach Bruce Arians admitted Carson Palmer (arm, I.R.) isn't expected to return this season.

"None of the guys on IR have made expected progress in rehab, so as of today, no one is expected to return this season," Arians said. Palmer, along with David Johnson (wrist) is one of those players on I.R. He broke his arm back in Week 7 and was hoping to be back in around six weeks, but that was always on the optimistic side. The Cardinals are done at 4-6 and will ride with Blaine Gabbert as the current starter. He actually has a decent fantasy playoffs schedule.

Coach Bruce Arians admitted David Johnson (wrist, I.R.) hasn't "made expected progress" and isn't expected to return this season.

"None of the guys on IR have made expected progress in rehab, so as of today, no one is expected to return this season," Arians said. That seems to go for Carson Palmer (arm) as well. The Cardinals seem to realize their season is in the gutter and circling the drain at 4-6. Owners holding onto Johnson can likely cut bait without consequence. He'll be 100 percent for the offseason.
