C.J. Spiller (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.

The Bills website considered Spiller a "long shot" to play earlier in the day, suggesting a game-time decision at best. Spiller only took "a few reps" on Thursday and conceded his status is up in the air. "We didn't do tackling drills out there," added coach Chan Gailey. "We'll see where it takes us. I don't know where it's going." Fred Jackson is a better bet to suit up versus the Pats.

DeAndre Hopkins (toe) didn't practice on Thursday.

Hopkins wasn't listed on Wednesday's practice report, so this must be a new injury. It's too early to get a gauge on Hopkins' status, but if he were to sit against the Jaguars, it would make a brutal matchup even worse for fill-in quarterback T.J. Yates. Nuk leads the NFL with 11 touchdowns this year and ranks second in both catches (88) and receiving yards (1,233) behind Antonio Brown. His absence would be a big loss for fantasy owners.
Dec 14 - 3:55 PM

Amari Cooper (ankle) is expected to miss Week 15.

Cooper remained sidelined at Thursday's practice. It's hard to see how he suits up after aggravating his injury last Sunday against the Chiefs. A lost season is ending in lost fashion for the disappointing third-year pro.
Dec 14 - 2:48 PM

Adam Thielen (knee) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Thielen was just getting some maintenance on Wednesday. He's a top-five option for Week 15 against the Bengals.
Dec 14 - 2:41 PM

Jordan Matthews (injured reserve) underwent left knee and right ankle surgery Thursday.

In a social media post, Matthews said both injuries had "plagued" him over the past two years. He's expecting a full recovery, but did not provide a timeline. Finishing his age-25 season on I.R., Matthews is headed to free agency.
Dec 14 - 2:38 PM

Mike Wallace (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday.

Two missed practices is never a good sign, but Wallace did play through the issue against the Steelers. Even a "limited" session on Friday would have him on track to suit up against the Browns.
Dec 14 - 2:20 PM

Adrian Peterson (neck) wasn't seen at the open portion of Thursday's practice.

He's likely to miss his third straight game Sunday at Washington. There's no timetable for Peterson's recovery and it's possible he's played his final game of 2017. Kerwynn Williams will be an RB2/3 in the likely event that Peterson sits.
Dec 14 - 1:38 PM

Kyle Rudolph (ankle) did not practice Thursday.

Rudolph also sat out on Wednesday, raising big concerns about his availability. He almost certainly has to practice on Friday to have any shot at suiting up. Backup TEs Blake Bell (shoulder) and David Morgan (concussion) are also dealing with injuries.
Dec 14 - 12:30 PM

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Tevin Coleman remains in the concussion protocol.

There are different stages of the protocol, so being in it does not mean Coleman will necessarily miss Thursday's practice. Still, he was not able to get in any work Tuesday, and it looks like he is at best questionable for Monday night.
Dec 14 - 12:30 PM

Leonard Fournette (quad) did not practice Thursday.

Fournette also sat out Wednesday's practice, raising real concerns about his availability for Sunday against the Texans. His participation during Friday's session should tell the story. Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon will split reps if Fournette cannot play.
Dec 14 - 12:14 PM

Giants placed RT Justin Pugh (back) on injured reserve.

Pugh went for a second opinion this week which obviously recommended him shutting things down for the rest of the season. The good news is he will not need surgery, a welcome development as he heads into free agency. As long as he is healthy, Pugh should have a hot market as a quality and versatile lineman.
Dec 14 - 12:12 PM

Interim GM Kevin Abrams said he would like to see Davis Webb get some playing time.

"But you can only play one quarterback at a time," Abrams added before saying interim coach Steve Spagnuolo will make the final decision. It makes perfect sense for the Giants to get Webb some snaps at the end of a lost season, but it might not be a good move for a coach trying to win games and help his resume. For now, Eli Manning will remain under center.
