Roddy White exploded for 169 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions and 12 targets to lead the Falcons to a 30-28 victory over the Panthers in Week 4.

Taking advantage of single coverage, White made up for a tough end-zone drop with a 49-yard bomb to get the Falcons on the board in the first quarter. He came back with a 14-yard score out of the slot just before halftime, and hauled in a 59-yard bomb to set up Matt Bryant's game-winning field goal with less than a minute remaining. The monster game puts White on pace for a 108/1,652/12 stat line heading into a tasty matchup against a Redskins secondary that has hemorrhaged big plays.

Aaron Rodgers completed 6-of-9 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in his first preseason action Friday night against the 49ers.

Aug 26 - 10:59 PM

Steelers TE Jesse James caught 4-of-5 targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in Friday night's third preseason game.

He played exclusively with the first-team offense with Ben Roethlisberger on the field, seeing three targets from Ben on Pittsburgh's opening drive alone, and capping it with a short touchdown deep in the red zone. A second-year tight end out of Penn State, James stands 6-foot-7, 261 and plays in an undersized pass-catcher corps. He's a sneaky candidate for 6-8 touchdowns with Ladarius Green's (concussions, ankle) availability uncertain.
Aug 26 - 10:39 PM

Markus Wheaton caught 2-of-3 targets for 40 yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

Wheaton has begged the coaching staff to let him play outside more, and he's getting his wish. The Steelers' first-team three-receiver set with Ben Roethlisberger on the field had Wheaton and Antonio Brown on the perimeter with Eli Rogers stationed in the slot. Wheaton is an interesting test case this year because he's flush with opportunity, but has shown average to above-average talent. He's worth a shot in the eighth and ninth rounds of 12-team drafts.

DeAngelo Williams managed 12 yards on four carries and caught 3-of-4 targets for nine yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

The Steelers used a timeshare involving both Williams and Le'Veon Bell. Bell started the game, but Williams spelled him to the extent that they were on the field roughly equally with the first-team offense, though Bell was clearly the superior all-purpose back. Williams is assured three starts to begin the season, where he'll be a top-ten fantasy running back play in each week. Williams' role will be up in the air once Bell comes off suspension.
Aug 26 - 10:31 PM

Chris Hogan caught 5-of-6 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown Friday night against the Panthers.

Hogan came out on fire, catching two passes for 23 yards on the Patriots' first drive. He did a nice job getting a step on Bene Benwikere a couple times, and Tom Brady hit him with a beautiful pass for a 33-yard touchdown over the corner in the second quarter. He should have had another long catch, but Jimmy Garoppolo overthrew him near the end of the first half. Hogan is up to nine catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in two preseason games. His role is still unclear, but it looks like he could be a big part of the offense.
Aug 26 - 10:29 PM

Mike Evans caught 5-of-5 targets for 115 yards and one touchdown in the Bucs' third preseason game against the Browns.

Jameis Winstin hooked up with Vincent Jackson and Evans early and often Friday night. Evans dominated one second-quarter drive in particular, running right by first-round bust CB Justin Gilbert for a 47-yard pickup down the right sideline before then leaping over the top of the smaller Jamar Taylor on the other side of the field for a 34-yard touchdown. Evans has elite WR1 upside if he can correct the mental mistakes that plagued him last season. Through three preseason games, Evans has caught 8-of-13 targets for 143 yards and a pair of scores.
Aug 26 - 10:27 PM

Suspended RB Le'Veon Bell rushed three times for 21 yards and caught 5-of-5 targets for 37 yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

Bell rotated with DeAngelo Williams equally, but was clearly the superior talent on the field. Coming off a torn PCL and MCL, Bell showed his trademark springy explosiveness, speed to get the corner, and elite versatility. When Bell returns from his three-game ban, he will be a top-five weekly play among fantasy running backs. Bell's ADP is currently in the late first round.
Aug 26 - 10:26 PM

Josh Gordon caught 2-of-2 targets for 87 yards and one touchdown in the Browns' third preseason game against the Bucs.

It was Gordon's first game action of any kind since Week 16 of the 2014 season. On his first target, Gordon ran right by Brent Grimes on a double-move for a 44-yard pickup. He then closed out the first half with a 43-yard touchdown over the top of Grimes on a ball he fought to come back to over the smaller corner. Gordon worked as the No. 3 receiver behind Corey Coleman and Terrelle Pryor, but he vastly outperformed the two youngsters. Gordon will probably get some more run in the preseason finale before serving his four-game suspension to open the season. If Friday night is any indication, Gordon looked like his old self.
Aug 26 - 10:22 PM

Eli Rogers secured 2-of-4 targets for 17 yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

The Steelers played two drives with Ben Roethlisberger. Rogers was the first-team slot receiver on both of them, working between Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton. Rogers was targeted four times by Big Ben in the two drives, before Landry Jones entered. Rogers is the favorite to open the season as the Steelers' No. 3 wideout. For now, at least, Sammie Coates is with the twos.
Aug 26 - 10:20 PM

LeGarrette Blount rushed five times for 26 yards and caught all three of his targets for 16 yards Friday night against the Panthers.

The real story of the night was Tyler Gaffney, who started the game and rotated series with Blount all night. Blount did his best to make his claim for the starting job, including a long gain which he ended by hurdling Tre Boston, but it's clear his spot atop the depth chart is at the very least contested. Blount has RB2 upside with Dion Lewis (knee) sidelined, but he needs to solidify his role.
Aug 26 - 10:16 PM

Jameis Winston completed 16-of-25 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs' third preseason game against the Browns.

He added two carries for nine yards. The Bucs opened the night in no-huddle, and Winston looked extremely comfortable in the hurry-up offense. Coach Dirk Koetter got him on the move on rollouts and bootlegs, letting Winston find open space to hit Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans for numerous chunk gains. Jackson posted a 4078 line, and Evans exploded for 5-115-1, catching a 49-yard bomb behind Justin Gilbert on a 49-yard gain and then leaping over the smaller Jamar Taylor for a 34-yard touchdown to finish the same drive. Winston's other score went to Charles Sims. The Browns didn't put up much of a fight, but Winston was flawless on Friday.
