Jamaal Charles rushed 30 times for 140 yards and added three catches for 21 yards in the Chiefs' 9-6 Week 5 loss to the Ravens.

It was yet another special performance for Charles. The Ravens' defense came into this one giving up 94.5 yards per game on the ground, but Charles gashed them for 20 carries and 125 yards in the first half alone. They stacked the box with nine guys in the second half, leading to a bunch of carries for a loss. Still, Charles' ability to find and explode through a hole is uncanny. Although his lateral movement isn't quite up to par off the ACL tear, he's still among the best backs in the league.

The Indianapolis Star calls is "unmistakably clear" that the Colts' "go-to lineup will feature three wide receivers."

The Colts have been two-tight end heavy for the majority of the Andrew Luck era, but with Coby Fleener departed for New Orleans and Phillip Dorsett waiting in the wings, going three-wide is a no-brainer. Dorsett figures to be boom or bust behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief, but WR4 value is a real possibility.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says he intends to determine his backfield touches "game to game."

"That'll go game to game," Arians claimed when asked how often David Johnson would be getting the ball. "If he's hot, he's staying in there. But there's no script right now." They're alarming comments on their face, but almost certainly just coachspeak. Both the Cardinals' website and ESPN's Josh Weinfuss consider Johnson a shoo-in bell cow. Perhaps a "hot" Chris Johnson or Andre Ellington could occasionally steal a series, but we're confident in Johnson's ability to dominate touches to the degree that he'll be an elite RB1.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin expects Le'Veon Bell's suspension appeal to take place in "mid-August."

Bell's odds of getting his four-game ban overturned are considered poor. He's gone from the No. 1 overall running back to a boom/bust mid-range RB1.

Steelers placed TE Ladarius Green (ankle surgery) on the active/PUP list.

There isn't a lot known about Green's status. He underwent an operation in January, the severity of which is unclear, and missed most, if not all, of the offseason program. We'd expect he will be cleared soon, but that's just a guess until we get more information. Green will be a legitimate TE1 if his health cooperates.

Jimmy Graham (patellar tendon) won't be ready for the start of camp.

The Seahawks have been adamant that Graham will be ready for Week 1, but we'd consider him a candidate for the reserve/PUP list until proven otherwise. Graham can't be trusted as more than a flier TE2 in fantasy drafts.

Thomas Rawls (ankle) won't practice on the first day of training camp, but the Seahawks remain undecided on the active/PUP list.

Rawls had previously insisted he'd be full-go for the start of camp. Either way, coach Pete Carroll maintains Rawls will be ready for Week 1. It's concerning Rawls still isn't 100 percent after going down last December, but it's been the belief all along that he will be ready for the opener. Barring a setback, Rawls can be drafted as an upside RB2.

The Falcons want to get second-year RB Tevin Coleman more involved as a pass catcher this season.

At least once a week, the Falcons talk about getting last year's third-rounder more touches. "They’re finding more ways to get the backs out there and get them the ball," Coleman said. "So it’s going to be exciting for us to be back there and get the ball more than just running." Catching the ball is one of Devonta Freeman's fantasy firewalls after he notched 73 receptions last season, but Coleman had decent hands in college. The Falcons seem deadly serious about having more of a committee this season, but Freeman's red zone and third-down work still have him on the RB1/2 borderline.

Browns placed DE Desmond Bryant (torn pectoral) on the reserve/NFI list, ending his season.

The move was expected after Bryant went down in a workout earlier this month. Bryant has been a quality rotational lineman since coming over from the Raiders two years ago, but is going on 31 and due $7 million next season. He probably won't be back at that price.

Bears RG Kyle Long suffered a strained calf in Thursday's practice, and is week to week.

Per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the injury "doesn't seem severe," but that Long is "expected to miss some time." It will only be a concern if the injury lingers to around the third preseason game.

Redskins first-round WR Josh Doctson's Achilles' injury has lingered since May, but he insists he's not worried about his health for the regular season.

Doctson injured himself on the first day of voluntary practice, but insists it isn't a concern. "I know my body, and I’ve never really had lingering problems," Doctson added. "I heal fast." Doctson did add he doesn't plan to rush his rehab. "It’s going to be a long year, so I’ve got plenty of time." We'd consider Doctson week to week, and doubtful for Washington's first preseason game.

Vikings extended coach Mike Zimmer's contract.

The terms were not announced. "There is no doubt Zimmer is going to be our coach for a long time," GM Rick Spielman said. It's a bit unusual for a third-year coach with zero playoff victories to already be getting an extension, but Zimmer has done an undeniably excellent job through two seasons. He's settled the defense and helped set a tone on offense. Zimmer is known for being fiery, but has been surprisingly calm and levelheaded as a head man. He's a born head coach.
