Ben Tate (toe) participated in Wednesday's practice, and coach Gary Kubiak expects him to be ready for Sunday Night Football.

He was officially limited. "Ben did practice today, we were very light in practice today," Kubiak said. "My expectations are that Ben would be ready to go Sunday." Positive news, but Kubiak said the same thing last week before ultimately admitting Tate was "not close" to playing against the Jets. Tate is trending in the right direction for Week 6, but for the time being, he should be considered questionable at best.

Cody Latimer is soaking up first-team reps at Broncos OTAs as unsigned franchise player Demaryius Thomas stays away from workouts.

"There's going to have to be some young receivers (who) really step up, and Cody's one of those guys," coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think it's a very competitive situation right now. But, yes, it's an important month for Cody." The 56th overall pick in last May's draft, Latimer runs 4.44 at 6-foot-3, 215 and has a 39-inch vertical. He projects as Denver's No. 3 receiver this year.

Free agent DE Ray McDonald was arrested again on Wednesday, this time for violating a restraining order.

The Santa Clara (CA) Police Dept. was informed Wednesday that McDonald visited a home he was prohibited from visiting two days after being arrested for domestic assault and child endangerment. The restraining order stems from Monday's Memorial Day arrest. Wednesday's arrest took place at 2:52PM PT. Cut by the Bears two days ago, McDonald has now been arrested five times since 2010.

Adrian Peterson issued a statement regarding his absence from OTAs, saying he is sitting out as a "business" decision.

Perhaps most notably, Peterson ended the statement by saying "Go Vikings," which would seemingly strongly suggest he intends to be playing football for Minnesota in 2015. "The reason I'm not attending OTAs has nothing to do with wanting to be traded," Peterson insisted. "It's about securing my future with the Vikings. It's business, not personal and I understand that firsthand. Go Vikings." It sounds like the sides are still haggling over something related to Peterson's contract, which is scheduled to pay him $12.75 million in base salary this season, but is not guaranteed. Adding guarantees to the contract could be one way for the Vikings to appease Peterson, who turned 30 in March.

Speaking at Vikings OTAs on Wednesday, Teddy Bridgewater called Kyle Rudolph "the biggest weapon we have right now."

"He's like a new player out there," Bridgewater said of Rudolph, who endured yet another injury-ruined season in 2014. Rudolph, Bridgewater, and Charles Johnson spent the offseason training together. Still only 25 years old, Rudolph will be worth a late-round flyer in 2015 fantasy drafts. Durability remains the biggest obstacle in the way of Rudolph realizing his potential.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Adrian Peterson has "two choices: he can play for us or not play."

It's as strong a statement as we've heard from the Vikings regarding Peterson, though they've been hinting at this for months. Peterson has no leverage. He's due $12.75 million, an amount the Vikings are willing to pay and a salary that other teams aren't looking to acquire. It's Minnesota or nowhere for A.D.

The Texans will appear on this summer's season of HBO's Hard Knocks.

As expected. The Texans don't jump off the screen as a team many would have near the top of the list of candidates for the show, but deep down there are plenty of intriguing storylines. Coach Bill O'Brien is fiery much like Rex Ryan and could pop off at any minute on the show, while the Texans will also be holding a full-blown quarterback competition to track this summer. J.J. Watt will certainly have plenty of air time as the league's premier defensive player. Arian Foster and DeAndre Hopkins should have starring roles as premier playmakers.
May 27 - 10:48 AM

Redskins released RG Chris Chester.

Chester, 32, has started all 64 games for Washington the past four seasons, but isn't a fit for coach Jay Gruden's power-blocking scheme at just 305 pounds. The veteran remained a serviceable guard last season, especially in pass protection, so he should get another look. The Redskins save $4 million against the cap with the move. Spencer Long is now the favorite at right guard.

Coach Marvin Lewis admitted WLB Vontaze Burfict (knee) has a "long ways to go" in his rehab.

"Vontaze will be in rehab all the way through the summer," Lewis said. Burfict walked with a "hobble" and "generally looked uncomfortable" after running off to the side of Tuesday's practice. Signs continue to point to him landing on reserve/PUP to start the season. A.J. Hawk ran with the starters to begin OTAs.

Devonta Freeman opened Falcons OTAs as the first-string tailback.

Rookie Tevin Coleman ran with the twos. Freeman best projects as a role-player back, and was likely given the first-team nod out of veteran deference. In Kyle Shanahan's historically productive zone-run scheme, Coleman versus Freeman versus Antone Smith will be one of fantasy's top camp battles to watch.

Richard Sherman (elbow) is participating fully in OTAs.

Sherman was initially tabbed for Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, but opted for rest and rehab instead. It appears his recovery has gone according to plan. Heading into his age-27 season, Sherman is the game's best corner.
May 26 - 4:14 PM

Derek Carr (hand) has yet to resume throwing.

Carr took snaps in Tuesday's OTAs session, but was on the sideline for passing drills. Carr isn't currently considering hand surgery, and he's expected to be back to full health by training camp. It's a story worth monitoring for Raiders fans, but not a major concern.
