Bills RE Mark Anderson is out indefinitely after Monday's MRI apparently revealed extensive damage to his injured knee.

He requires surgery. There are no indications that this is a season-ender, but the Bills don't expect their $20 million addition playing anytime soon. Buffalo's offseason defensive makeover has backfired spectacularly, with Anderson's absence adding injury to insult. Through five weeks, the Bills rank 31st in both yards and points allowed. They're averaging two sacks per game. Anderson had one of those sacks and a dozen tackles. He figures to be replaced by Chris Kelsay.

Jacoby Brissett (concussion) is practicing Thursday.

It is not a surprise after he got in a full practice Wednesday, but it is good to see he has not suffered any setbacks. He is fully expected to be cleared before Sunday's game against the Titans.

Bears placed OLB Leonard Floyd on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Howard Jones was promoted from the practice squad to take his place. Floyd was carted off the field with a knee injury Week 11. The Bears said he did not suffer any damage to his ACL, but he obviously is still dealing with a serious injury. Floyd finishes his sophomore campaign with 5.5 sacks in 10 games.
Nov 23 - 11:53 AM

Greg Olsen (foot, injured reserve) is practicing again Thursday.

Olsen remains on injured reserve, but he is almost certain to return this week after practicing Monday, Wednesday, and now Thursday. Even coming back from a serious injury, he will be a back-end TE1 in a good matchup against the Jets.
Nov 23 - 11:35 AM

Matt Forte (knee) returned to practice Thursday.

Forte was out on Wednesday, but he was able to get in some work and run some routes during practice on Thursday. He will almost certainly be listed as limited on the official report, but this does give him a chance to return against the Panthers. If he does, he will be in the FLEX conversation.
Nov 23 - 11:29 AM

Devonta Freeman (concussion) will practice on a limited basis Thursday.

Freeman remains in the concussion protocol, but this is a step in the correct direction after he was sidelined during Wednesday's practice. He is still questionable at best to face the Bucs, but he now at least has a shot. If Freeman cannot go, Tevin Coleman will once again have a workhorse role, this time in a better matchup.
Nov 23 - 11:20 AM

Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (groin, questionable) is expected to play Thursday against the Chargers.

Despite a questionable tag, Smith always seemed likely to return following a limited week of practice. His presence is a massive upgrade for the entire offense and a downgrade for the Chargers DST.

Ty Montgomery (ribs) did not practice Thursday.

Montgomery also sat out on Wednesday, suggesting he is not going to play on Sunday night against the Steelers. Aaron Jones (knee) also remains sidelined, leaving Jamaal Williams to once again carry the load. It is not a good matchup, but Williams will be a volume-based RB2.
Nov 23 - 10:17 AM

Travis Benjamin (abdomen) and Mike Williams (knee) are expected to play Thursday against the Cowboys.

Both were listed as questionable following a limited week of practice, but there never seemed to be any real concern. With Benjamin, Williams, and Tyrell Williams all vying for targets behind Keenan Allen, it is unlikely any of them return consistent fantasy value.
Nov 23 - 10:12 AM

Eagles coach Doug Pederson believes K Jake Elliott (concussion) will be ready for Week 12 against the Bears.

Elliott was limited on Wednesday. "Everything is looking good for him, where he’s at right now," Pederson said. "I feel in the bottom of my heart, that Jake will be ready." The Eagles have yet to activate Caleb Sturgis from injured reserve or add another kicker, indicating there is a good chance Elliott is ready to go.

Broncos coach Vance Joseph wants Paxton Lynch to use his legs.

"I said, 'Just play. Don’t try to be a pocket passer. We call a play and it’s not there, take off and run,'" Joseph said. "That’s one of his strengths, so I’m looking forward to watching him play on Sunday." Lynch rushed for 40 yards in one of his starts as a rookie and has the skill set to be a factor on the ground. Lynch has a good schedule down the stretch starting with Oakland this week, and he could return solid value in two-quarterback formats and perhaps even get on the streaming radar down the stretch, especially if he is adding points on the ground.

New Lions DE Dwight Freeney will not play Thursday against the Vikings.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the veteran had a chance to suit up, but it always seemed unlikely considering he was just claimed off waivers on Wednesday. In better news for Detroit, Ezekiel Ansah is expected to return following a two-game absence with a back injury.
