Owen Daniels (hip) returned to practice on a limited basis Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 10.

Coach Gary Kubiak called Daniels a "game-time decision" after the practice. Daniels will be worked out before Sunday's game, and the Texans will decide whether he should or shouldn't play at that point. It's a tricky situation for fantasy owners because Houston and Chicago face off in a late game, on Sunday Night Football. The best option for owners to take would be to secure James Casey as a fallback option and start Casey if Daniels is announced among the Texans' pre-game inactives. Daniels is a must-start if he plays.

SNY reports the Giants are "planning to be aggressive" with free agent Jason Pierre-Paul.

The G-Men have made it clear through the media that keeping Pierre-Paul is a priority. The franchise tag makes the most sense for the team, but reporter Ralph Vacchiano makes it sound as if they aren't ruling out a long-term deal. JPP has said he wants to avoid a one-year contract. The reasons are obvious for a 28-year-old pass rusher who suffered a career-threatening injury in 2015. Pierre-Paul is Rotoworld's No. 2 free agent edge rusher.

Bucs released CB Alterraun Verner.

The no-brainer move creates $6.5 million in cap space, and leaves behind no dead money. Signed to a four-year, $25.5 million contract in March 2014, Verner was a comprehensive bust in Tampa, losing his starting job in 2015. Despite good health, he made just nine combined starts over the past two years, playing 838 replacement-level snaps. The ex-Titan turned 28 in January. He'll search for fourth corner work.

Jets released OT Breno Giacomini.

The move creates $4.5 million in cap space. Coupled with Nick Folk's release, Giacomini's departure saves the Jets a total of $7.5 million. Going on 32, Giacomini is recovering from back surgery. He's been a liability for years now. He won't be signed as a locked-in starter in free agency. Perhaps his ex-team Seattle will be interested as they pick up the pieces along their offensive line.

Jets released K Nick Folk.

The move creates $3 million in cap space. Now 32, Folk had been the Jets' kicker since 2010. Folk converted 27-of-31 field goals last season, though he did shank two extra points. Folk was effective enough to keep his job, but the rebuilding Jets would rather save money. Folk will likely be kicking somewhere in 2017.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman was noncommittal when speaking about Adrian Peterson on Thursday.

Spielman said the team is still mulling its options, but that Peterson will "always be a Viking." Spielman's words confirm there's a strong chance the Vikings move on from one of the best players in franchise history. Both sides seem ready for a divorce.
Feb 23 - 1:43 PM

Speaking Thursday, Vikings GM Rick Spielman said "everybody's hoping" Teddy Bridgewater (knee) can resume his career.

Spielman passed up an opportunity to guarantee his 24-year-old quarterback will ever play again. Bridgewater has yet to resume football activities, and is without a timeline for doing so. Headed into the final year of his contract, Sam Bradford will be under center in Week 1.

The Cardinals and Cowboys will play in the 2017 Hall-of-Fame Game.

The league's annual preseason opener will take place on a Thursday (Aug. 3) as opposed to its traditional Sunday this year. Last year's game was canceled because of an unplayable field. We can only assume The Shield has since pumped some money into the Canton stadium. Carson Palmer and Dak Prescott will play a few snaps before giving way to the bottom of the 90-men rosters.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports the Broncos will not pick up LT Russell Okung's four-year, $48 million option.

Okung would have landed $19.5 million guaranteed including an $8 million bonus if the Broncos had picked up the option. The decision makes Okung a free agent, although the Broncos may look to bring him back on a deal which guarantees less and pays less up front. That might be easier said than done in a thin left tackle market of which, even coming off a down year, Okung is now near the top.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports Ryan Tannehill (knee) is "healed" and will be ready for OTAs.

Tannehill did not require surgery to repair the partially torn ACL and sprained MCL which ended his season in Week 14. Salguero reports the team could manage his workload, but he will be good to go for the "entire offseason program." Coming off one of his best seasons, another full offseason in coach Adam Gase's system could allow Tannehill to take another step forward.

MMQB's Albert Breer wrote his "sense" is new Bills OC Rick Dennison wants to keep Tyrod Taylor.

Dennison was the Ravens' quarterbacks coach in 2014, Taylor's final year in Baltimore, so he knows the quarterback well. Despite Dennison's desire to keep Tyrod, Breer correctly points out "cash will be the deciding factor." Taylor is due $30.75 million guaranteed over two years if the Bills pick up his option.

MMQB's Albert Breer was told impending free agent A.J. Bouye will be the "clear king" of the cornerback class.

The fourth corner on his own team this time last year, injuries gave Bouye the opportunity to show what he can do, and he did not disappoint. Now the 25-year-old is an ascending star heading to the open market with plenty of teams desperate for corner help. It will not be surprising if he betters the five-year, $62.5-million deal Janoris Jenkins landed last March.
