Jordy Nelson (foot, hamstring) confirmed that he feels "great" and fully expects to play Sunday at Detroit.

"I hope so, I've been practicing all week. I hope I'm not practicing to be sitting on the bench," said Nelson. "We'll be ready to go. (I) stayed here all bye week, got healthy and I'm out there feeling good. I've been practicing just like it's a normal week." Rotoworld ranks Nelson No. 6 among fantasy receivers for Week 11.

A source told the Boston Globe that Aaron Dobson was deactivated in Weeks 3 and 4 because he "mouthed off" to Patriots OC Josh McDaniels.

"Mouthing off" to Belichick wannabe McDaniels apparently costs you two full games, despite the Patriots' glaring needs at perimeter wide receiver. 23 years old, big, and fast, Dobson would give New England an offensive element it sorely lacks, but it sounds like McDaniels is putting his ego before the team. Dobson's status going forward is unclear. He's just a WR5 stash in 12-team leagues.

NFL suspended Panthers DE Frank Alexander 10 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Alexander just returned Monday from a four-game suspension for violating the same policy. He's now out for the next 10 games, and can't return until Week 16. What a boneheaded mistake. Carolina will continue to move forward with Charles Johnson, Kony Ealy, Mario Addison, and Wes Horton as its four-man rotation at end. Alexander's rookie deal ends following the 2015 season.

Arian Foster (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

Foster is likely going to miss plenty of practice reps this week before being a game-time decision against the Cowboys on Sunday. Foster said he wasn't 100 percent in Week 4, and coach Bill O'Brien later called his running back day-to-day. If Foster can't play, Alfred Blue would likely get the start for Houston.
Oct 1 - 4:38 PM

Marvin Jones tweaked his ankle on Wednesday and was listed as "DNP."

Jones can't catch a break. After missing all of the offseason program with an ankle injury, Jones returned to training camp for all of one practice before breaking his foot. In his first official practice back from the broken foot on Wednesday, Jones hurts his ankle. He was initially expected to make his season debut this week against New England, but now Jones' status is up in the air.
Oct 1 - 4:13 PM

Coach Ron Rivera said Darrin Reaves is currently the Panthers' starting running back.

With DeAngelo Williams (ankle) and Mike Tolbert (leg) out and Jonathan Stewart (knee) still working his way back, Reaves is next up on the depth chart, followed by Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whittaker. Reaves (5-foot-7, 209) is an undrafted rookie out of UAB, but was a favorite by some in the draft community. For owners in a bye-week or injury crunch, Reaves is worth a grab for Week 5 against the Bears. He won't be the full-time ball carrier, but should lead a committee attack.
Oct 1 - 4:01 PM

Coach Jeff Fisher announced that Austin Davis will be the Rams' starting quarterback moving forward.

Fisher says there will be "no short hook." After initially claiming Shaun Hill would resume the starting job once 100 percent healthy from a Week 1 thigh injury, Fisher has changed course. Rightfully so. Among quarterbacks with at least 90 pass attempts, Davis is tops in the league with his 72.3 completion percentage. He's averaging a healthy 8.0 YPA with a 3:3 TD:INT ratio. He's had a couple back-breaking turnovers, but Davis has generally moved the offense pretty well. Davis has a plus matchup against the Eagles this week, but is still a QB2. Davis isn't the long-term option past 2014. The Rams should know that.
Oct 1 - 3:31 PM

Carson Palmer will seek a second opinion on the nerve issue in his throwing shoulder.

After signs of progress last week when Palmer threw on the side at practice, his status for Week 5 is headed back downhill. Palmer was reportedly noticeably down on Monday when he tried to throw on the side. It appears better than 50:50 that Drew Stanton will get another start. Arizona will be cautious with Palmer.
Oct 1 - 3:04 PM

Teddy Bridgewater (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's Week 5 game against the Packers.

Bridgewater missed practice Monday and Tuesday before the Vikings went through a walkthrough on Wednesday. The No. 32 pick in May's draft is looking like a full-blown game-time decision for Thursday night. Coach Mike Zimmer said the team has plans in place if Bridgewater can't go. Christian Ponder would start.
Oct 1 - 3:00 PM

Brandon Marshall (ankle) is practicing in full Wednesday.

It's great news after coach Marc Trestman said Monday that the Bears would have to take a "good look" at Marshall's health this week. Playing on one leg the past two games, Marshall has caught a total of three passes for 25 yards as more of a decoy. Marshall will have to avoid setbacks the rest of the week, but it's looking like he'll be healthier for Week 5 against the Panthers.
Oct 1 - 2:56 PM

Joique Bell (concussion) is not practicing on Wednesday.

Bell suffered a concussion in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Jets. Fantasy's No. 38 running back, Bell is averaging just 3.2 YPC on 48 totes through four games. He's averaging a meager 33 yards rushing per game the past three weeks. Bell is day-to-day. If he can't play, Reggie Bush will handle the majority of the work against the Bills. Bell has been a big-time disappointment.
Oct 1 - 2:47 PM

Jake Locker (wrist) returned to practice Wednesday and was throwing with "no issues."

Beat writer Jim Wyatt observed Locker throwing well with "good velocity." Early signs point to Locker returning to the lineup after missing last week's start against the Titans. Locker is averaging 228 yards passing through three starts with a 3:4 TD:INT ratio. He'd be a bottom-barrel QB2 option against the Browns.
