Darren Sproles (hand) is practicing in full this week.

Barring a setback, Sproles will be ready to roll for New Orleans' showdown with the 49ers after being a last-minute scratch in Week 11. The Saints' backfield has grown increasingly muddled in recent weeks, but Sproles should immediately slot back in as Drew Brees' preferred passing-down back. The question is, will Chris Ivory return to being a game-day inactive. Sproles will be a shaky flex play in standard leagues.

Saints rookie RB Alvin Kamara rushed five times for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers.

Kamara's first carry of the game was an explosive 50-yard touchdown run. He looked great throughout, running decisively and exploding through the hole. He was also utilized in the passing game, catching a ball in the flat and scampering for a 20-yard gain. Kamara's success seems to have guaranteed him playing time in the regular season, but it's unclear how much.

ESPN's Jim Trotter reports Anquan Boldin has elected to retire.

He lasted 13 days after signing a one-year deal. After the Bills made the unprecedented maneuver to trade both their best wide receiver AND cornerback just weeks before the start of the season, 37-year-old Boldin decided it wasn't worth it staying in Buffalo anymore. He had been running with the first-team offense. The Bills are left with Zay Jones and Jordan Matthews with Andre Holmes and Rod Streater behind them. We wouldn't be surprised if Boldin resurfaced with a team in a few weeks. We would be surprised if the Bills won more than a handful of games this season. The new regime is off to a rocky start.

Martavis Bryant caught 2-of-3 targets for 20 yards in his preseason debut Sunday.

Still "conditionally suspended" but by all accounts on track for a full return, Bryant made his preseason debut with Josh Dobbs at quarterback. Bryant lost three yards on the first drive of the game, but flashed his big-play ability on a 20-yard reception down the sideline. Bryant played into the third quarter and looked good out there. He is a fringe third-/fourth-round target in non-PPR leagues and a fourth-/fifth-rounder in PPR.

Steelers rookie RB James Conner rushed 20 times for 98 yards and caught 1-of-4 targets for three yards on his preseason debut Sunday night.

After a shoulder injury hobbled him for the first two weeks of camp, Conner worked behind Fitzgerald Toussaint on Sunday and has yet to earn the Steelers’ No. 2 back job. He dropped two passes and didn’t get rolling as a runner until Atlanta’s third-string defense came in, blew a chance at a huge run by falling down in the backfield, and failed to stay in bounds on a play where he needed to late in the fourth quarter. A third-round pick out of Pittsburgh, Conner’s job security is shaky. He should be given another long look in the Steelers’ third preseason game as Le’Veon Bell’s holdout continues, perhaps even getting some first-team reps with the Ben Roethlisberger group.

The Denver Post believes Paxton Lynch may have already lost the Broncos' quarterback derby to Trevor Siemian.

The fact of the matter is Siemian has at least shown some ability to move the offense, while Lynch has not. "I saw Paxton make some plays with his legs, which he should. He’s an athlete," coach Vance Joseph said. "And Trevor, he was solid. He was Trevor. He made good decisions, his ball-placement was on point tonight, he controlled the huddle. So I was pleased with Trevor." Siemian has a limited ceiling, but he gives the Broncos their best chance to win.

Redskins activated TE Jordan Reed (toe) off the active/PUP list.

Dealing with a toe sprain, Reed recently tried out new orthotics in his shoe which he seems to believe are working. He is now eligible to resume practicing with the team. The Redskins' next practice isn't until Wednesday. If Reed gets through the week unscathed, we could see him make a cameo appearance in Washington's regular season dress rehearsal next weekend.

Manti Te'o is expected to be the Saints' starting middle linebacker.

Beat writer Nick Underhill anticipates Te'o starting in the Saints' base defense, then leaving the field on passing downs. Saints linebackers always offer theoretical IDP upside due to increased tackle opportunities, but Te'o's two-down role severely curbs his ceiling. He is also likely to be a liability enemy offenses attack with tight ends and running backs on early-down passes.

Jordan Matthews (chest) caught passes during individual drills at Sunday's practice.

He had a helmet on but wasn't wearing pads. Matthews suffered a chip fracture in his sternum at his first Bills practice last Sunday but is already on the mend. The Bills are going to take things slow with Matthews but it looks like the slot receiver will be ready for Week 1.

Jets coach Todd Bowles blamed Christian Hackenberg's poor showing in Saturday's preseason loss to the Lions on poor blocking by the offensive line.

Hackenberg was predictably awful, completing just 2-of-6 passes for 14 yards before bowing out at halftime. The Penn State alum has made shockingly little progress since arriving as a second-round pick last season, though Bowles said Saturday's clunker wasn't his fault. "They really didn’t give him a chance," he said. "I don’t think anybody can have a chance when we’re blocking like that." Adding to the dysfunction, likely Week 1 starter Josh McCown was instructed not to speak with reporters after Saturday's game. The Jets are a hot mess in all facets.

According to Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media, "it wouldn't be surprising" if LeGarrette Blount is among the Eagles' cuts.

Lombardo also wonders if Wendell Smallwood's job is in jeopardy, hypothesizing that Smallwood may need to beat out UDFA Corey Clement. Blount has started both preseason games but has rushed for just 17 yards on nine carries. It's an admittedly small sample, though Blount hasn't shown much in camp and seems to be showing signs of fatigue after logging a career-high 299 carries last season. He's also not a great fit in Doug Pederson's offense, where backs are expected to play in the passing game. Blount may still have some value as a goal-line vulture if the Eagles keep him, but his fantasy arrow is pointing in the wrong direction.

Mitchell Trubisky completed 6-of-8 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' second preseason game.

Trubisky did not enter the game until late in the third quarter, with Mark Sanchez getting in one series between starter Mike Glennon and the rookie. Coming off a rampaging performance in his NFL debut, Trubisky had a nondescript night on Saturday. Half of his yardage came on a screen pass and an easy dump-off on a bootleg, and Benny Cunningham was wide open on his short touchdown pass. He also forced a throw to the sideline which probably should have been intercepted. Even with Glennon struggling, playing Trubisky so late suggests the Bears are not serious about evaluating the No. 2 overall pick as a potential starter.
