Danny Amendola (heel) missed Rams practice for the third straight day on Friday and is listed as doubtful for Week 13.

As expected, Amendola will be a game-time decision for Week 13 against the 49ers. The doubtful tag no longer is especially meaningful for his status because he was active despite the same designation last week. The Rams are willing to let Amendola play without having practiced, but how long he'll be able to go is the real question mark. He lasted seven snaps in last week's win at Arizona, and will not be a recommended Week 13 fantasy start.

DeMarco Murray (hamstring) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Speaking Thursday, Kenny Britt said he had a "man-to-man" conversation with coach Hue Jackson about "stepping up."

Britt said Jackson has asked him to bring more energy "on- and off-the-field." Jackson acknowledged challenging the 29-year-old wideout, who has displayed embarrassing effort through his first two games as a Brown. Loafing, Britt has totaled two catches for 15 yards. He's seemed content to let Rashard Higgins, who was on the practice squad as recently as last week, take over as the Browns' No. 1 receiver. Britt has already reached now-or-never time with his new club.

Coach Ron Rivera said Carolina's backfield work will be determined by "flow of the game" and who is playing well.

Fantasy owners who used an early-round pick on Christian McCaffrey can't be too thrilled by this development. Essentially the Panthers are going with a hot-hand approach, which means McCaffrey's role is going to be different each week. For all his promise, McCaffrey has been out-touched by veteran Jonathan Stewart 35-30 in the early going. McCaffrey's day will eventually come, but it could be a while before he overtakes Stewart.

ESPN Bengals reporter Katherine Terrell expects Tyler Eifert (back, knee) to miss Week 3 against the Packers.

Eifert didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday and wasn't even seen on the rehab field. The Bengals will make an official ruling on his status after Friday's walkthrough, though Eifert's absence already seems like a foregone conclusion. Expect Tyler Kroft to start in his place.

Jordan Reed (chest, toe) was officially "limited" in Thursday's practice.

"The pain is becoming manageable," coach Jay Gruden said afterward. "We'll see how he does tomorrow." Gruden's comments come one day after he said Reed was "not healthy right now." The tea leaves suggest Reed will gut out his multiple injuries against the Raiders. His effectiveness will be anyone's guess.

Markus Wheaton (finger) has been removed from the Bears' Week 3 injury report.

Wheaton will make his 2017 debut against the Steelers, and should immediately slide in as the Bears' No. 2 receiver against his old team. In theory, there will be targets aplenty, but Wheaton offers little upside with Mike Glennon under center.
Sep 21 - 2:45 PM

John Brown (quad) wasn't seen at the open portion of Thursday's practice.

Brown sat out last week's game with a quad injury and has shown few, if any, signs of progress. He's a long shot for Monday night's game versus Dallas. Larry Fitzgerald, J.J. Nelson and Jaron Brown will continue to operate as the Cardinals' top wideouts.
Sep 21 - 2:35 PM

Broncos LT Garett Bolles (ankle) resumed practicing on Thursday.

Bolles was carted off against the Cowboys, but escaped with only a bruise. He was still expected to miss Sunday's game against the Bills. He likely will, but this gives him an outside shot at suiting up. The Broncos' badly undermanned line has almost zero depth behind Bolles at tackle.
Sep 21 - 2:30 PM

Bengals WR John Ross (knee) was held out of Thursday's practice.

Ross' knee was the issue that held him out in Week 1, but he was listed as "limited" on Wednesday with an illness. Today he was DNP with the troublesome knee. The Bengals could just be managing Ross' reps, but it's also possible he suffered a setback. Even if Ross does suit up against the Pack, he will be nothing more than a dart throw WR5.
Sep 21 - 2:27 PM

Jets OC John Morton said the team plans to use a three-man running back committee going forward.

Rather than separating himself from the pack, Bilal Powell was out-touched by both Matt Forte and rookie Elijah McGuire while seeing just 18 snaps in last week's loss to Oakland. Mired in a three-man timeshare in one of the league's worst offenses, Powell is looking like a wasted fantasy pick.
Sep 21 - 2:16 PM

Odell Beckham (ankle) said he expects to play "a lot more" against the Eagles in Week 3.

OBJ was eased in on Monday night after missing the opener with a high-ankle sprain, but it doesn't sound like he'll have any restrictions heading into Week 3. The Giants' offense has been in a funk but Beckham remains a weekly WR1 in all formats.
