According to Profootballtalk, Dwayne Bowe (broken ribs) will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Bowe had already been ruled out for Week 15 after breaking two ribs on Sunday, and now it seems the Chiefs will end his season and likely his Kansas City career. Jon Baldwin and Terrance Copper are expected to start on the outside with Dexter McCluster in the slot for the final three games. If the report rings true, Bowe ends the 2012 campaign with 59 catches for 801 yards and three touchdowns. The 28-year-old will be the most sought after free agent receiver in free agency this offseason.

Sources tell ESPN's Ed Werder the Eagles are discussing a short-term contract extension with Sam Bradford.

It's a tricky time to do a new deal as Bradford hasn't been healthy since 2012 yet has massive upside in Chip Kelly's offense. If he stays upright this year, he'll have a great shot at (another) huge contract in the spring. Of course, the Eagles want to keep their starting quarterback under club control beyond this season -- when his $78 million rookie contract will finally expire. Per Werder, Bradford has "made a strong early impression" on the team.

Coach Lovie Smith confirmed Doug Martin will be the Bucs' "lead" back this season.

"We talked about being able to establish the run," said Smith. "Doug will be the lead guy doing that, so it's very important that we open up some holes and let him do his thing." On a Bucs team with a 6.5-game Vegas Win Total, Martin is expected to be a two-down back only, ceding passing-down snaps to Charles Sims. Still, Martin has value-pick potential at his seventh-round ADP.

NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports the Colts are "working diligently" toward an extension with contract-year WR T.Y. Hilton.

Getlin does acknowledge there is "no definitive timeline" for a deal to be finalized. Although many assumed Hilton was as good as gone after the Colts used a first-round draft pick on Phillip Dorsett, both local and national media have reported Indianapolis remains intent on locking up Hilton long term. Hilton's Dynasty owners, in particular, should hope for a deal.

According to the Falcons' website, Leonard Hankerson has been "the best wide receiver at Flowery Branch so far."

It should be noted that Roddy White is taking it slow on his balky knee. Still, Hankerson appears to have parlayed his big spring into a productive early summer. "I think it’s the length, he’s got such a big catching radius," coach Dan Quinn said. "You’ve probably seen some of the sideline plays, he’s got such a knack for keeping it in bounds and going to stretch for the ball, so that’s probably one of the biggest things that stand out for me with Hankerson." Hankerson has the inside track on the Falcons' third receiver job.

ESPN Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky expects the team to employ a committee at running back this season.

"I know people want an RB1, but likely it's (going to be a) running back by committee," were Kuharsky's words as he broke down the Titans' backfield from a fantasy perspective. Noting fifth-rounder David Cobb figured to feature prominently inside, Kuharsky also said Cobb has been "lit into frequently" for his failures in pass protection early in camp. Cobb remains behind both Bishop Sankey and Antonio Andrews on the Titans' depth chart.

The Kansas City Star considers NT Dontari Poe (back surgery) a candidate for the reserve/PUP list.

Poe went under the knife early last month, and is staring at a three-month timeline. That means even in a best-case scenario, he's unlikely to return before October. The Chiefs don't have to make a decision on Poe's status until next month. Arian Foster is going to run wild on Kansas City in Week 1.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports unsigned Giants franchise player Jason Pierre-Paul (fingers) won't report to training camp until he can pass his physical.

Pierre-Paul finally talked to GM Jerry Reese on Sunday, but he's avoiding all Giants activities — including signing his one-year tender — until he can be medically cleared. It's a bizarre strategy, but one the G-Men may be more at peace with following Sunday's meeting. It's completely unknown when JPP might finally be ready.

Bears first-round WR Kevin White (shin) has now been sidelined for more than six weeks.

White continues to make progress, but remains on active/PUP. The Bears have declined to give any kind of timetable or reveal the exact nature of his injury. "I hope sooner rather than later, but that's just a hope," coach John Fox said. Once cleared, White will have a lot of ground to make up under notorious rookie hater Fox. Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett, Matt Forte and Eddie Royal are all competent targets for Jay Cutler.

Sources tell the Baltimore Sun S Matt Elam will need surgery to repair his torn biceps.

Elam sustained the injury while trying to make a tackle during Saturday's practice. The No. 32 overall pick in 2013 has scuffled in his career and lost the strong safety job to Will Hill, but the Ravens were counting on him to provide quality depth this year. Instead, he'll be placed on IR shortly and rehab ahead of 2016, the final year of his rookie contract.

Geno Smith has thrown zero interceptions through the first four days of training camp.

Considering Geno has been picked off 34 times in 30 NFL games, this qualifies as news. He's taken the vast majority of first-team reps and been "solid." Armed with a Chan Gailey scheme that suits his skill set and legit NFL-caliber weapons for the first time, we're expecting Geno to take a significant step forward toward two-QB league relevance.

Browns CB Justin Gilbert continues to run behind Pierre Desir at camp.

Gilbert was the No. 8 overall pick in 2014 out of Oklahoma State while Desir went 127th overall out of D-II Lindenwood. That hasn't stopped Desir from earning the No. 3 job on the depth chart, behind starters Joe Haden and Tramon Williams. Gilbert might be the biggest disappointment in the 2014 draft if it wasn't for Johnny Manziel, who the Browns took 22nd overall that year.
