The foot injury that ended CB Shawntae Spencer's season was a serious Lisfranc sprain.

Similar to the Darren McFadden situation last year, the Raiders never revealed the true extent of Spencer's injury. The impending free agent will have to prove his health before attracting interest on the open market this summer.

The Jets have named Geno Smith their starting quarterback for Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Unfortunately, we'll all be subjected to this nightmare of a quarterback situation on Monday Night Football. At this point, it doesn't even matter who starts under center for the Jets. Both Smith and Michael Vick are beyond horrible, having nothing but a negative effect on the entire pass game. Eric Decker and Percy Harvin don't receive a boost or downgrade, while Smith is obviously not even an option in two-quarterback leagues. GM John Idzik likely forced coach Rex Ryan's hand here to get one last look at Geno.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Redskins are planning to start Colt McCoy in Week 13 at Indianapolis.

Schefter reports Robert Griffin III remains "a significant part" of the Redskins' long-term plan, but it appears the coaching staff has decided McCoy offers a better chance to be competitive at this moment. Coach Jay Gruden has not been able to run his offense with RG3 under center. McCoy has appeared in two games this year, completing 85.7 percent of his throws for 427 yards with a touchdown and an interception, engineering an upset of Dallas and leading the game-winning drive versus Tennessee. We suspect McCoy will close out the season as the Redskins' starter.

Profootballtalk reports Marshawn Lynch (back, illness) will "without question" play against the 49ers on Thanksgiving.

It's not a surprise, as coach Pete Carroll essentially guaranteed on Monday that Beast Mode would suit up for Seattle's grudge match with the 49ers. Lynch has been playing mostly dominant football, but on a short week against a tough run defense, he'll be a lower-end RB1 for Week 13.

Broncos signed K Connor Barth.

He'll replace second-year undrafted free agent Brandon McManus, who's been waived after missing four of his first 13 field-goal attempts. Barth has been accurate throughout his career with a big leg, but missed all of 2013 with an Achilles' injury. He was released by the Bucs at final cuts. Provided he's healthy, Barth will be a weekly fantasy option for the Broncos' high-scoring offense.

The Denver Post says "there's a chance" Julius Thomas (ankle) could return for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs.

Thomas sat out Week 12 with his sprained left ankle. His status can't be taken for granted for Week 13, but he's trending in the right direction. "I have had better days, and I have had worse days," Thomas said Monday. "You hope you just wake up one day and it feels good again, but that didn't happen last week. But it has improved." Jacob Tamme was held to just one catch filling in for Thomas last week.

According to ESPN Cleveland, signs point toward Jordan Cameron (concussion) playing in Week 13.

Cameron has suffered three concussions since 2012, but has been assured by doctors he's not putting his long-term health in jeopardy by continuing to play football. He practiced on Friday and is expected to practice this week before suiting up against the Bills. With Josh Gordon back to clear out the middle of the field, Cameron is trending up at the razor-thin tight end position. He needs to be scooped up off waivers if he was dropped in your league.

SS Troy Polamalu (knee), ILB Ryan Shazier (ankle) and CB Ike Taylor (arm) are all expected to return for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Saints.

It's a much-needed talent infusion for the Steelers as they come out of their bye. Their defensive unit has been getting shredded for much of the year, even struggling to contain the likes of Zach Mettenberger and Michael Vick recently. Polamalu is no longer a dominator at age 33, but he'll add playmaking ability as he comes off his knee sprain. Shazier's sideline-to-sideline speed jumps off the screen and Ike Taylor at least gives veteran experience opposite William Gay. The Steelers are also expected to get OLB Jarvis Jones (wrist) and DL Steve McLendon (shoulder) back shortly.

According to the New York Daily News, Rex Ryan wants to start Michael Vick in Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Beat writer Manish Mehta couches his report by saying Ryan had to clear his previous decision to change quarterbacks previously with GM John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson. "Override this time is possible too," Mehta says. There's also the issue of Vick's calf, which isn't considered a serious issue but could give the front office an out if they want to see what Geno Smith has over the final five meaningless games. Although Vick was nothing short of atrocious on Monday night, we'd still prefer him to get the nod if we own Percy Harvin or Eric Decker.

Drew Brees completed 35-of-45 passes for 420 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Saints' 34-27, Week 12 loss to the Ravens on Monday night.

Brees averaged a healthy 9.3 YPA, but his night will be most remembered for a pick-six to Will Hill late in the third quarter that put the Ravens ahead on the scoreboard for good. It was Brees' third pick-six of the season, as he's been crippled by back-breaking turnovers all year. His three scores went to Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston, and Graham again. The 4-7 Saints are clearly the most talented team in the abysmal NFC South and still sit atop the standings, but they lost all three games on the homestand. They'll try and right the ship next week in Pittsburgh.
Nov 24 - 11:44 PM

Justin Forsett rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in the Ravens' 34-27, Week 12 win over the Saints on Monday night.

He added two catches for eight yards. Rob Ryan's Saints defense came into the night allowing 4.3 YPC, 11th-worst in the league. Meanwhile, Baltimore has the league's ninth-ranked rushing offense. The Ravens' mauling offensive line pushed the New Orleans front around all night, creating gaping holes for Forsett, who walked in untouched on his 13- and 20-yard touchdowns. His longest run of the night came on the Ravens' opening play, when Forsett busted through a mammoth hole for 38 yards. Forsett will remain an RB1 next week vs. San Diego.

Bengals RT Andre Smith suffered a torn triceps in Week 12 and is done for the season.

Smith will have surgery next week. The 27-year-old has had a down season, struggling with penalties, but he's been okay in pass protection, surrendering just four sacks. The Bengals will turn to Marshall Newhouse at right tackle. He's a replacement-level talent. Smith is due $5.6 million in 2015.
