Bengals signed FB John Conner.

The Jets waived Conner due to injuries in October. He was dealing with a hamstring issue and sprained MCL at the time, but has been reportedly training for the last seven weeks. The former "Hard Knocks" star will replace FB Chris Pressley, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Eric Decker (hamstring) remained sidelined at Jets practice Friday.

Coach Rex Ryan remains confident Decker will be available Monday night against the Bears, and says Decker doesn't have to practice to play. With few pass-game alternates outside of Jeremy Kerley in the Jets-Bears game to hold in case Decker misses, owners with other WR3 options would be wise to plug them in over Decker. It'd be nice to see Decker practice Saturday afternoon.

DeAngelo Williams (thigh) is officially listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Steelers.

Coach Ron Rivera once again said he expects to have Williams for Sunday Night Football. He has some FLEX appeal in a plus matchup. The concern with Williams is he doesn't score touchdowns. Owners should be aiming higher.

Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is probable for Week 3 against the Colts.

Allen Hurns (ankle) is also listed as probable. Both players practiced in full Friday. With Marqise Lee (hamstring) out, look for Shorts and Hurns to open as the starters. Allen Robinson will be serve as the No. 3 receiver. With Chad Henne still under center, it's hard to trust any of these guys as more than WR4/5 plays. For Shorts' sake, hopefully he can avoid setbacks with his balky hamstring.

DeSean Jackson (shoulder) is questionable for Week 3 against the Eagles.

Jackson got in a limited practice session Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday. Coach Jay Gruden called it a "step in the right direction" for Jackson, and they'll look at hime again on Saturday. Jackson has already said he doesn't plan on missing his return to Philadelphia. But the Redskins aren't going to jeopardize his long-term health by sending him out there. We tentatively expect Jackson to play. He's our No. 32 receiver play this week as a boom-or-bust WR3.

Cardinals placed OLB John Abraham on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season.

Abraham's Week 1 concussion proved to be too much to overcome for the 36-year-old. After suffering the injury, Abraham went home to contemplate his future. He returned to the team this week, but couldn't pass the concussion protocol. The NFL's active sack leader with 133.5 of them, Abraham's career may be over. The Cardinals are in dire need of edge-rush help. They'll roll with some combo of Matt Shaughnessy, Sam Acho, Thomas Keiser, and Victor Butler.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Josh McCown will undergo an MRI on Friday morning, but the "belief" is that he has a sprained right (throwing) thumb.

McCown banged his thumb on Falcons CB Robert McClain's helmet on his follow-through Thursday night. With McCown performing so terribly in his first three starts, even if the thumb injury doesn't prove to be significant, it will give the Bucs an excuse to look at Mike Glennon. Tampa Bay has ten days to figure things out, but chances are better than 50-50 Glennon starts Week 4 at Pittsburgh.

Knowshon Moreno (elbow) has told teammates that he plans to be back in the lineup Week 6.

Moreno was originally given a 4-8 week timetable for recovery after dislocating his elbow last week against the Bills. A Week 6 return would be right at four weeks, and comes directly after the Dolphins' Week 5 bye. Players are always more optimistic about their own injuries, so we're not going to hold Moreno to this. Owners need to continue to stash Moreno. Lamar Miller will handle lead-back duties in his absence. Damien Williams and Orleans Darkwa are Nos. 2 and 3.

A.J. Green (toe) said he "feels good" and plans to play Sunday against the Titans.

After returning to practice Thursday, Green said Friday morning that there's no soreness in his toe, and if he feels like this on Sunday, he's going to be out there. We still need to keep a close eye on Green up through Sunday morning. For now, he can be penciled into lineups as a low-end WR1. There's a heightened chance for aggravation. Green's not a recommended FanDuel play.

Roddy White (hamstring) expects to play in Week 4.

Speaking after Thursday's blowout win, coach Mike Smith implied White would have played had the Falcons not been on a short week. He now has 10 days to get ready for Atlanta's Week 4 trip to Minnesota. A former iron man, White hasn't been anyone's idea of durable over the past two seasons, but is a cinch WR2 whenever he's healthy and playing opposite all-world beast Julio Jones.
Sep 19 - 12:07 AM

Steven Jackson rushed 14 times for 54 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta's 56-14, Week 3 bombardment of the Buccaneers.

S-Jax's two-yard score in the third quarter — where he stood up four Bucs defenders to put the Falcons up 49-0 — was his first of the season. Jackson could have had two first-quarter scores, but was gassed by the time the Falcons reached the red zone on each of their first two drives. Jackson is running with extremely little lateral agility these days, but still has more than enough power to churn out yardage up the middle. The leader of the Falcons' four-man committee, Jackson is also by far the best touchdown bet. He's a safe RB3.
Sep 18 - 11:43 PM

Bobby Rainey rushed 10 times for just 33 yards in Tampa Bay's 56-14, Week 3 loss to the Falcons, catching seven passes for 64 yards while also losing two fumbles.

The 97 yards from scrimmage were actually a best-case scenario for a player who was briefly benched following his first fumble in the first quarter, and could have been sent to the pine for good after coughing it up on the Bucs' opening drive of the second half. Thankfully, coach Lovie Smith showed mercy on a night where his entire team stunk. Rainey's long-term role remains up in the air with Doug Martin (knee) likely back for Week 4, but he's going to keep getting work. Rainey should remain owned in 10-12 team leagues.
