Beanie Wells rushed 17 times for 67 yards and three touchdowns in Arizona's Week 15, 38-10 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Wells' three rushing scores were all three offensive touchdowns for the Cardinals, as the defense pitched in with two pick-sixes of Matthew Stafford to account for the other visits to the end zone. Before rushing for a garbage time 31-yard score around the right edge, it was shaping up as a Michael Turner-ish type of afternoon for Wells. Ryan Lindley started under center for Arizona and limited himself to just one interception after throwing five in his previous two starts. As good of an afternoon as it was for Wells, he won't be a recommended fantasy option next week against the Bears. The win snapped Arizona's nine-game losing streak.

Marlon Mack carried five times for 45 yards while adding two receptions for 14 yards in Saturday’s preseason game.

It was the fourth-round pick’s first game action after missing the preseason opener with a shoulder issue. Although he played all his snaps against the Dallas reserves, Mack showcased the explosiveness he did at South Florida. Mack ripped runs of 10 and 13 yards on his first two carries of the game before adding a 23-yard jaunt in the third quarter. The Colts need a playmaker in their backfield as they had just four runs of 20 or more yards all of 2016, which was tied for last in the league. Mack is still behind 34-year old Frank Gore and journeyman Robert Turbin on the depth chart, but is a name to monitor as an end of the bench stash in deeper leagues.

Bilal Powell rushed nine times for 32 yards in the Jets' second preseason game, adding two catches for 14 yards.

Powell was the only Jet who looked like he belonged on the field against the Lions' first-team defense. His two receptions were literally the Jets' only completions of the first half. Despairing stuff. Nevertheless, it's the kind of three-down role Powell proved capable of down the stretch in 2016. With an aging-out Matt Forte sitting out the summer, Powell should be ticketed for big early workloads. It might not produce the desired fantasy numbers in what's looking like a once-in-a-century bad offense, but Powell should be a factor in both standard and PPR.

Rob Gronkowski played in the Patriots' second preseason game.

He played two series, we believe. It was Gronk's first preseason appearance since 2012. Gronkowski wasn't targeted in the passing game, but he did show up positively as a run blocker. The snaps were just confirmation that Gronkowski is all systems go following last year's injury-marred campaign.

Rob Kelley rushed nine times for nine yards and caught one pass for five yards in the Redskins' second preseason game.

Along with the rest of the offense, Kelley could not get anything going against the Packers, although the offensive line did not do him any favors. On the bright side, fourth-rounder Samaje Perine did not get any run in the first half, meaning Kelley is way out in front in the running back battle. Unfortunately, Perine will likely earn a role at some point, and Kelley struggled to consistently produce even as the clear lead back late last season. There are better picks in the seventh round.

Kirk Cousins completed 14-of-23 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins' second preseason game.

Cousins orchestrated a nice touchdown drive in the two-minute drill to close out the half, but it came against mostly second teamers. For most of his snaps, he struggled with his accuracy and led Washington to just three first downs before the final drive. He also missed what should have been a couple big plays, although he threw two nice passes down the sideline in the second quarter. Washington's offense has not lit the world on fire in the first two preseason games, but the passing game should get things rolling before Week 1.

Scott Tolzien completed 10-of-14 passes for 70 yards in Saturday’s preseason game.

Tolzien’s completion percentage was solid, but his 5.0 yards per pass attempt isn’t going to cut it. The Colts went three and out on all three of their drives against the Dallas starters and scored on just one of six drives while Tolzien was in the game. To be fair to Tolzien, he has largely worked with a skeleton crew at wide receiver this entire offseason, but the Colts’ offense has just eight first downs on nine possessions with their "first-team" offense in the game so far in the preseason. At this juncture, it’s close to a lock that Tolzien starts at minimum Week 1 of the regular season for Indianapolis. Andrew Luck’s absence obviously compromises all the Colts’ skill players for fantasy purposes.
Aug 19 - 9:32 PM

Patrick Mahomes completed 10-of-14 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns, adding three scrambles for 29 additional yards.

Checking in after an impressive performance by Alex Smith, Mahomes had some fun against the Bengals' backups, showing off his entire skill-set. He scrambled, made some nice throws on the run and wasn't afraid to look down the field. Flushed from the pocket, he nearly had a 17-yard touchdown run, but stepped out of bounds before diving for the pylon. Smith can't afford any letups this season.

Lions WR T.J. Jones left Saturday's second preseason game with a hamstring injury.

He was ruled out for the game. Jones isn't a fantasy factor in and of himself, but he has been running as the Lions' first-team slot receiver. If Jones misses any time, Golden Tate would move into the slot with rookie Kenny Golladay playing outside as a starter in Detroit's three-receiver sets.
Aug 19 - 9:13 PM

Rex Burkhead rushed seven times for 20 yards and caught 3-of-3 targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' second preseason game.

Burkhead's 22-yard touchdown came on a bullet from Tom Brady over the middle, and he evaded Texans ILB Zach Cunningham to the house. Burkhead operated as the Patriots' feature back on Saturday night, gobbling up all of the first- and second-down snaps with the Tom Brady group. James White did enter on third downs, but Burkhead was highly active in the passing game. With Mike Gillislee (hamstring) still on the shelf, Burkhead is a legitimate contender for New England's Week 1 starting running back job.
Aug 19 - 9:04 PM

Christian Hackenberg started Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, completing 2-of-6 passes for 14 yards.

Hackenberg was removed at halftime. Named a "surprise" starter by coach Todd Bowles, Hackenberg played jaw-droppingly bad football worthy of sympathy. He took two thundering sacks and let a ball squib out of his hand, "generating" -3 yards of passing offense. His "completions" were a pair of checkdowns to Bilal Powell. It's true that Hackenberg received zero help from his offensive line or "weapons," but once again, he looked completely lost on the preseason field. The Jets hid Hackenberg, a second-round pick, as a rookie because he wasn't ready. The year in mothballs did nothing to make him better, or counter his awful college film. The Jets have an albatross of a pick on their hands. It's frankly inexcusable considering Hackenberg's résumé coming out of Penn State.
Aug 19 - 8:58 PM

Martellus Bennett caught a three-yard touchdown in the Packers' second preseason game.

Like the rest of the first-team offense, Bennett played limited snaps, but he made his final one count by going up over a defender to pull down a fade from three yards out. Bennett scored on four of his five targets inside the 10 last season with the Patriots, and he could see even more work near the goal line in Green Bay. That touchdown upside makes him a TE1.
