Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez are both active for Week 16 against the Chargers.

CBS' report that Tebow would not suit up was inaccurate. It means the Jets will be rolling with three quarterbacks against the Bolts, though they've declined to officially announce who will back-up "starter" Greg McElroy. The smart money is on Sanchez, but the smart money doesn't always pay out with Gang Green. It would be far from surprising if all three players ended up seeing snaps. McElroy can't be counted on in two-QB leagues. Inactive for the Jets are TE Dustin Keller, WR Mardy Gilyard CB Aaron Berry, CB Donnie Fletcher, LB Ricky Sapp, OG Caleb Schlauderaff and DL Damon Harrison.

Paxton Lynch will be the Broncos' No. 2 quarterback for Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.

Trevor Siemian will draw the start with Mark Sanchez slotting in as the third-string QB. The pieces of Denver's quarterback puzzle are starting to come together with Siemian the favorite to start Week 1 and Sanchez now fighting for his roster spot. Lynch has done some good things this preseason, completing 21-of-33 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns. He could put heat on Siemian with another strong showing on Saturday.

Ben Watson suffered a torn Achilles' in Saturday's preseason game.

Watson went down on the first play of the night. It's a huge blow to a pass game that relies heavily on tight ends. The Ravens could end up getting nothing on the two-year, $7 million deal they gave Watson this offseason. With Dennis Pitta and Maxx Williams sidelined, Baltimore is down to Crockett Gillmore.

49ers coach Chip Kelly continues to claim the team's quarterback competition remains open.

Blaine Gabbert has done nothing to run with the job, but Colin Kaepernick has somehow done even less. All signs have pointed to Gabbert under center for the opener for weeks now. Kap has seemed checked out of San Francisco since last season, and has seen his on-field performance deteriorate at an alarming rate. All he's really accomplished this summer is setting off constitutional debates on Twitter.

Rams signed WR Tavon Austin to a four-year, $42 million extension through 2021.

The deal includes a whopping $30 million guaranteed, a princely sum for a 5-foot-8 gadget player the Rams have desperately wishcasted as a No. 1 receiver since trading up for him in the 2013 draft. Austin is coming off a unique season where he eclipsed both 400 yards rushing and receiving, but simply isn't worthy of this kind of deal. The Rams under Jeff Fisher have a tendency to compound mistakes instead of trying to fix them. All that being said, despite now being overpaid, Austin is a useful real-life player who has WR4 appeal in fantasy. He is a legitimate playmaker. He's just not who the Rams are paying him to be.

Jeremy Langford rushed six times for 17 yards in the Bears' third preseason game.

The entire offense struggled in the first half, but as has been the case all preseason, Langford worked as the clear three-down starter, playing every snap on the Bears' first three possessions. Langford might not be a special talent, but he has a great shot to top 250 touches. He is worth a look in the fourth round.

Updating previous items, the Dallas Morning News says Tony Romo's (back) "best case" return would be after the Cowboys' Week 7 bye.

That would entail Romo missing six games, and eight weeks altogether. In all likelihood, preseason star Dak Prescott is going to make at least six starts to open the season. He is a QB2 with upside in a talented Dallas offense.

Falcons waived/released QB Sean Renfree, S Sergio Brown, OL Michael Huey, RB Gus Johnson, WR Jordan Leslie, TE Arthur Lynch, LB Ivan McLennan, CB Ryan White, and DL Brandon Williams.

There are no surprises on this list. A onetime favorite of the draftnik community, Renfree was a seventh-round pick out of Duke in the 2013 draft. Renfree was outlasted by Matt Schaub and Matt Simms at Falcons training camp.

ESPN's Jenna Laine believes the Bucs will utilize "a LOT more no-huddle" this season.

The Bucs were almost dead average in offensive pace last season, but it sounds like they plan to up the tempo this year. That is good news for Jameis Winston, who put up QB1 numbers less than a third of the time as a rookie despite finishing as the QB13. Winston might be slightly overvalued in fantasy drafts, but he is a solid upside pick.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Nelson Agholor "really stood out" this week in practice.

The comments were unprompted, suggesting Agholor's performance was good enough to be at the front of Pederson's mind. A good week of practice is certainly a positive sign, but Agholor needs to build on it with a strong showing Saturday against the Colts.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco believes Marqise Lee will be the team's "breakout star" this season.

It is unlikely Lee gets enough work to truly breakout as long as Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns are healthy, but this is still a positive sign. Limited by injuries his first two seasons, Lee has finally had a healthy training camp, and he looks locked into the No. 3 job. He has also earned praise from coach Gus Bradley, who said he has shown more "maturity" this offseason. As long as he stays healthy, Lee should start to turn his career around this season.

Colin Kaepernick sat during the national anthem before Friday night's preseason game.

This is a non-story, but it is something the 49ers could use against Kap if they decide to move on. "The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony," the team said in a statement to Pro Football Talk. "In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose to participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem." In response to the "controversy," Kaepernick told NFL Network's Steve Wyche he is "not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color." The real story is Kaepernick was dreadful on the field Friday night, almost guaranteeing he will open the season as a backup.
