ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Ray Rice is not expected to play on Sunday against the Bengals with Baltimore already having clinched the AFC North division title.

Bernard Pierce will carry the load for the Ravens on Sunday, and fantasy owners that play through Week 17 need to adjust accordingly. Pierce should see upwards of 20 touches against Cincinnati and would be a very solid flex play. Anthony Allen is the No. 3 running back in Baltimore. This is the danger of having fantasy seasons that last past Week 16. Joe Flacco, Torrey Smith, and Anquan Boldin could see zero-to-limited action as well.

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a potentially serious non-contact left knee injury in Tuesday's practice.

Bridgewater went down in a heap, and his teammates immediately called for the trainer. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, players were cursing and throwing their helmets. They gathered around Bridgewater in prayer. The scene was described as "complete shock." The Vikings canceled practice. Obviously, it has the looks of a potentially season-ending injury, which would be a devastating blow even considering Bridgewater's game-managing ways. Journeyman veteran Shaun Hill is the next man up on the depth chart.

The MMQB's Albert Breer reports the Patriots are "shopping" Aaron Dobson.

They're shopping him because he'll be cut if/when they can't find a trade partner. Dobson has played over 100 snaps this summer, but has a modest six catches for 96 yards to show for it. Always hurt and mistake-prone, Dobson probably won't fetch a conditional day-three pick.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys "have received calls" from teams wanting to acquire Darren McFadden, but Dallas "really wants to keep him."

Dealing with a severe elbow injury, McFadden is expected to begin the season on the Cowboys' reserve/NFI list should he stay put in Dallas. If not, he could be available earlier if cleared by another team's doctors. Alfred Morris has played well enough this preseason to open 2016 as Ezekiel Elliott's clear backup. McFadden is owed $1.75 million in the last year of his deal.

Chiefs placed OLB Justin Houston (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs are "hopeful" of a mid-season return. Houston will be first eligible to suit up in Week 8, as the Chiefs are on bye in Week 5. It's a major blow, but far from unexpected. Houston was given a 6-12 month timetable after having his (apparently non-torn) ACL repaired in February. It's still not a certainty he suits up this season.

Giants signed OT Will Beatty to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.

Beatty made the free agent rounds, but couldn't find a new home. He'll likely begin the year as the Giants' swing tackle, but could put immediate pressure on RT Marshall Newhouse. If the G-Men grow uncomfortable with Ereck Flowers on the blindside, Flowers could be shifted to the right with Newhouse headed to the bench.
Aug 30 - 2:26 PM

Breshad Perriman (knee) will make his preseason debut on Thursday.

It will be the first time the No. 26 overall pick of the 2015 draft has ever played a live snap. Perriman doesn't figure to be on the field for more than a series or two, but the real takeaway is that it confirms he'll be ready for Week 1. That's barring a setback, of course. The Ravens' receiver corps is one of the least settled in the league, but with Perriman so far behind, he isn't worth a late-round flier in 12-team re-draft leagues.
Aug 30 - 1:48 PM

Speaking Tuesday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Josh Doctson (Achilles') still doesn't have "full-speed burst," but will resume practicing "very soon."

It's basically what we've been hearing from Gruden all summer about his first-round pick. Doctson seems to have no shot at suiting up for Week 1, and can best be clarified as "week to week." He's been battling the still-mysterious issue since June 1. The situation could change in a hurry, but Doctson begins the year without real value in re-draft leagues.
Aug 30 - 1:18 PM

John Brown (concussion/headaches) "couldn't say" Monday whether he'll be ready for Week 1.

The good news is Brown says this is the first concussion of his life. The bad news is he's endured several setbacks, leaving practice early twice with headaches and missing several more entirely. "I’m just taking it one day at a time," Brown said. "My focus is just being able to practice, just being able to get through a full practice." The Cardinals host the Patriots on September 11.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said TE Dwayne Allen (hip) is "fine."

Allen has missed the last two practices with "hip soreness," which is concerning considering his injury history. Pagano does not seem worried, however, and there is no reason to doubt his Week 1 availability at this point. If he can stay on the field, Allen should return back-end TE1 value this season.

Dolphins placed DE Dion Jordan (knee) on the reserve/NFI list.

The move will prevent him from playing for at least the first six weeks of the season. Despite the injury, Jordan has earned praise from coach Adam Gase for his work ethic since being reinstated. He could play a role this season. LB Zach Vigil also landed on reserve/NFI, getting Miami to the 75-man roster limit.
Aug 30 - 12:20 PM

Cowboys WLB Sean Lee is sidelined with a knee injury.

He had an MRI on Monday, but coach Jason Garrett says the results were "positive," likely meaning the test results were negative. It does not sound like Lee is dealing with a serious injury, but it is another reminder of his injury history. Already down several key members of the front seven, Dallas cannot afford to be without Lee.
