Bills hired Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator.

A former Bills assistant, Hackett spent the past two years as new coach Doug Marrone's offensive coordinator at Syracuse. According to WGR 550 Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia, the Bills "loved" Hackett during his time in Buffalo. Hackett is just 33 years old. Hackett and Marrone oversaw the Big East's number one offense in 2012, and favor a balanced approach. Hackett's hiring will further fuel speculation that Buffalo will target Orange signal caller Ryan Nassib in the draft.

Seahawks UDFA RB Thomas Rawls has emerged as the rookie the coaches love.

Per ESPN, coach Pete Carroll "loves Rawls’ toughness, seeing him as a bruising runner similar to (Marshawn) Lynch." It's the same things we saw on Rawls as he ran extremely physical, aggressive and angry at Central Michigan. There's speculation he could push Christine Michael off the roster in Seattle, meaning he needs to be on deeper Dynasty benches. Lynch is 29 years old and Robert Turbin is ticketed for 2016 free agency.

A source tells the New York Post Jason Pierre-Paul suffered "significant burns on his palm and several fingers, and one finger may have sustained nerve damage."

The injuries are a result of a Saturday night fireworks incident at his South Florida home. Pierre-Paul's career is not threatened, but his availability for the start of the season could be -- especially if the nerve damage limits his hand usage. It's terrible timing for JPP, who hasn't yet signed his $14.8 million franchise tender for the 2015 season. If the Giants rescind the tender, he would become an unrestricted free agent.

The Denver Post's Troy Renck anticipates Montee Ball mixing in for "seven to eight" carries per game behind C.J. Anderson.

Renck has Anderson ticketed for 18 carries a game. Before flopping last year following a preseason appendectomy, Ball averaged 4.66 yards per carry as a change-of-pace back behind Knowshon Moreno as a rookie in 2013. Ball's career YPC average currently stands at 4.18. Ball has been a fantasy disappointment through two NFL seasons, but he can be effective in a complementary role. He'll also offer handcuff appeal behind Anderson.

According to Raiders OL coach Mike Tice, Trent Richardson shed weight this offseason, which helped some of his quickness to return.

We've been pining for T-Rich to shed weight for years. It sounds like he's finally done so, and according to Tice it showed during the offseason program. "I thought the young man out of Alabama came on," said Tice. "He lost some weight, his quickness came around." Richardson is battling Roy Helu and Latavius Murray for snaps in Oakland's backfield. In all likelihood, Murray will be the Week 1 starter with Helu playing on passing downs.

ESPN Seahawks reporter Terry Blount believes Christine Michael is on the roster bubble.

Blount suggests Michael could lose his roster spot to impressive UDFA Thomas Rawls, a physical runner who caught the coaching staff's attention at spring practices. The 62nd overall pick in the 2013 draft, Michael has special physical attributes and a 4.88 career YPC average, but has earned just 52 carries through two seasons and has never seemed to earn the coaches' trust. Still only 24 years old, Michael would certainly generate interest on waivers. The Seahawks might be able to get a late-round pick for him if he's made available for trade.

Packers TE Andrew Quarless was arrested in Miami Saturday morning after allegedly firing a gun twice during an altercation.

Quarless tried to flee the scene and hide the gun in a plant, but he was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm in public, a first-degree misdemeanor with penalties of up to one year in jail in Florida. No matter what happens in the legal system, Quarless is likely to face a significant suspension from the NFL. Nothing more than a mediocre talent, Quarless' days with the Packers could be finished.

CBS Dallas-Fort Worth's Mike Fisher reports the Cowboys could announce a long-term deal with Dez Bryant as early as Monday.

"The two sides having moved to such a negotiating comfort level," Fisher said, "that there is discussion about announcing a done deal following the July 4 weekend." Rumors of an imminent deal between Bryant and the Cowboys have been swirling for days, but we have yet to hear anything official from either camp. The two sides have until July 15 to hash out a long-term deal.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports the Cowboys believe unsigned franchise player Dez Bryant is bluffing about holding out and missing games.

The two sides met Friday, and Cole reports "no progress" was made. Cole went as far as to say the Cowboys believe Bryant is having money problems and wouldn't be able to afford missing paychecks. Dallas isn't budging off the long-term offer it already made to Bryant and will either tell him to sign the deal or play out the season on the one-year, $12.82 million franchise tender.

NFL suspended Chargers TE Antonio Gates four games for violating the league's PED policy.

This one is a shocker. Headed into his 13th NFL campaign, Gates has always been a model NFL citizen, both on- and off-the-field. In a statement, Gates said he never "knowingly" ingested a banned substance. While possibly true, it's the oldest PED excuse in the book. Now 35, Gates has been thus far ageless as Philip Rivers' go-to target, but his absence will free up a massive amount of looks for Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson, and give Ladarius Green the opportunity he's deserved for some time now. Missing such a huge chunk of the fantasy season right off the bat, it's hard to sell Gates as a TE1.

NFL suspended Cowboys MLB Rolando McClain four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

McClain was originally believed to be facing a four-game fine, which would have meant three failed tests. A fourth failed test triggers a suspension. McClain simply can't stay out of his own way, though this is his first league-imposed suspension. It would likely be his second had he not "retired" in May 2013. McClain is coming off a renaissance year for the Cowboys, but is recovering from a knee scope in addition to his suspension. The end to his 2014-15 was marred by repeated head issues. McClain turns 26 in July. He's likely one strike away from being out of the NFL.

NFL suspended Jets DL Sheldon Richardson four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

"I apologize for letting down my family, teammates, this organization and the fans," Richardson said in a statement. With the Jets on bye in Week 5, Richardson won't make his season debut until Oct. 18 against the Redskins. It's a massive blow for Todd Bowles' defense, as Richardson will miss contests against the Browns, Colts, Eagles and Dolphins. Alongside an equally-dominant Mo Wilkerson, Richardson was one of the league's best defenders last season. His absence will ramp up the pressure on No. 6 overall pick Leonard Williams. Richardson has always been outspoken, but had previously avoided off-the-field drama through his first two years in the NFL.
