In addition to Bengals DC Mike Zimmer, the Browns are interviewing Panthers OC Rob Chudzinski for their head coaching vacancy Wednesday.

The Browns are having a busy day with two intriguing coordinator candidates in town. Chudzinski is one of the brightest offensive minds in the game, using an aggressive, vertical passing game that often features tight ends to spark Cam Newton and the Panthers over the last two years and the Chargers in the two years before that. He also has ties to Cleveland after serving as their tight ends coach in 2004 and offensive coordinator in 2007 and 2008 -- when he somehow turned Derek Anderson into a Pro Bowler. Chud, who had three head coaching interviews last year, is from Toledo.

Aaron Rodgers completed 6-of-8 passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' second preseason game.

Rodgers also picked up a third down with a 13-yard run, and he drew a 12-man penalty on a different third down by quick snapping. He capped his only drive of the night by hitting Martellus Bennett on a fade route from three yards out, something fans should probably get used to seeing. In short, Rodgers is still good at football, and he is the best fantasy option at the position.

Darren McFadden carried eight times for 56 yards with one reception for four yards in Saturday’s preseason game.

McFadden also lost a fumble at the Colts 12-yard line on his final carry that killed the Cowboys second drive. Six of McFadden’s runs went for five or more yards as the Dallas running game steamrolled the Colts defensive starters on the ground. McFadden came out for just one play after a 14-yard gain while the Dallas starters were on the field. Despite his fumble, McFadden remains the unquestioned lead back while Ezekiel Elliott is suspended. He is a sturdy option in fantasy drafts for the opening six weeks of the season whether you have drafted Elliott or not.

Dak Prescott completed 7-of-8 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ third preseason game.

It was Prescott’s first action of the preseason. Six of his seven completions went for first downs as he led the Cowboys on a 95-yard scoring drive to open the game that ended with him hitting Dez Bryant on a 32-yard touchdown. He then led a 58-yard drive on his second and final possession that ended in a red zone turnover by Darren McFadden. Prescott remains a high-floor starting quarterback in fantasy leagues entering the season.

Dez Bryant caught both of his targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s preseason game.

Bryant caught a 23-yard pass on the first play of the game in which he threw down a defender after the reception. He then caught a 32-yard touchdown reception over Vontae Davis on a deep back shoulder target that was vintage Bryant. Bryant caught 10 touchdowns over his final 11 full games a year ago including the postseason. Even with a tough opening schedule over the opening three weeks of the regular season, Bryant remains a low-end WR1 for the season since he carries so much touchdown upside.

Christian McCaffrey rushed three times for 33 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers' second preseason game, adding two catches for 39 yards.

The Panthers' offense barely saw the field in the first quarter due to a first-play fumble by Devin Funchess and then a Derek Anderson interception, but Jonathan Stewart played six of the first ten snaps, with McCaffrey getting the other four and the next five. McCaffrey ripped off numerous big plays in succession, first a 13-yard run up the gut followed by a 17-yard touchdown between the right guard and tackle. On the next drive, he took a screen 38 yards. McCaffrey's burst especially stands out. He's the real deal. McCaffrey's ADP has settled in the mid third round.

Derrick Henry rushed 16 times for 36 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans' second preseason game against the Panthers.

DeMarco Murray rested for this one, so Henry played the bulk of the first half and was the clear focal point of the offense when Matt Cassel entered the game. Henry couldn't get much going on his first few runs, but he blew around the edge and stiff-armed two defenders on his 17-yard touchdown before later scoring from one yard away on fourth-and-goal. Henry added three catches for 17 yards. If Murray ever goes down, Henry will be a fantasy RB1.
Aug 19 - 4:40 PM

Marcus Mariota completed 6-of-8 passes for 61 yards and one touchdown in the Titans' second preseason game against the Panthers.

Mariota played a pair of series, leading a field goal drive on the first before finishing the second off with a four-yard touchdown to Delanie Walker who was wide open on a corner route. Mariota's first pass was a 20-yard bullet on a deep in to rookie WR Taywan Taylor. On the next play, Mariota kept it on a read-option for a nine-yard run. Looking healthy off last year's broken fibula, Mariota has top-five fantasy QB upside with a now-loaded skill group.

Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, The Ringer's Mike Lombardi reported Colts WR Phillip Dorsett is available for trade.

"He's available in trade," Lombardi said. "You can have him if you want him." The Colts would likely be willing to part with Dorsett for a late-round pick. Teams that gave Dorsett high draft grades in 2015 may come calling closer to final cuts. Dorsett was one of ex-GM Ryan Grigson's most egregious draft picks.

NFL Network's Tiffany Blackmon reports the Panthers will "increase" Cam Newton's workload this week.

Newton is not going to play in the second preseason game, but the Panthers' don't seem to be worried about his Week 1 availability. Blackmon's source said it's "so far so good" with Newton's progress. Newton is a high-upside pick in fantasy drafts this season who will enjoy the addition of explosive first-round RB Christian McCaffrey.

Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (ankle) says he expects to be ready for Week 1.

This is a great sign for Lee, who was previously thought to have a high-ankle sprain. He is already out of a walking boot and no longer needs crutches. Lee was by far the most efficient player for the Jaguars on short passes last season and an important part of their offense.

ESPN Lions reporter Michael Rothstein believes Ameer Abdullah will top 1,000 yards rushing this season if he stays healthy.

The if he stays healthy sounds like a big qualifier after last season, but Abdullah played all 16 games as a rookie despite suffering a shoulder injury late in the year and did not have injury issues in college. Rothstein admits touchdowns could be a concern and Theo Riddick will steal work in the passing game, but 1,000 yards would still be an accomplishment after just 12 backs managed the feat last season. Abdullah does not have the upside of people like Doug Martin or Mark Ingram, but he is still a fine pick in the fifth round.
