Appearing on FOX NFL Sunday, Jay Glazer said the Jets "can't give the position away" when talking about their general manager vacancy.

"They're calling back candidates who already turned them down," added Glazer. "Their cap situation, personnel, QB and the circus turned a lot of candidates off." One of those candidates could be 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble, who was once considered the odds-on-favorite for the job but may have spurned the Jets. ESPN's Adam Schefter mentioned earlier on Sunday that ex-Bears GM Jerry Angelo is a "name to watch."

Former agent Joel Corry confirms Trent Richardson's suspension voids the guarantees on his $3.18M 2015 base salary.

Richardson was suspended during the playoffs for conduct detrimental to the team. He'll likely file a grievance through the NFLPA, but if the suspension stands then the Colts can dump their inept running back without paying him the final year of his guaranteed rookie contract. It would be a tiny silver lining for the franchise, who gave the Browns a first-round pick to acquire Richardson early in the 2013 season. He's been outperformed badly by players named Boom Herron and Zurlon Tipton.

Colts re-signed Rob Chudzinski to a new contract under the title of associate head coach.

Chudzinski, who served as a "special assistant" to head coach Chuck Pagano in 2014, garnered interest from at least the 49ers and Rams over the last few weeks. It's interesting that he's passing on those offensive coordinator opportunities to stay in a background role with Indy. It's likely a financial promotion coupled with the presence of Andrew Luck (vs. Colin Kaepernick or Sam Bradford) swayed him. Regardless, arguably the top OC candidate that was still available is now off the board. Chud is a talent maximizer that loves to utilize the tight end in the pass game. His return is great news for Luck, Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener and the entire Colts offense that ranked No. 3 in the league.

ESPN Steelers reporter Scott Brown says free agent CB Ike Taylor is "unlikely" to be re-signed.

It's a sad day for matchup-savvy fantasy owners. Taylor was a weekly target for the last few seasons, giving up countless big plays to front-line receivers. Notable whippings in 2014 came at the hands of Kenny Stills in Week 13 (5-162-1) and A.J Green in Week 14 (11-224-1). Although the Steelers are razor-thin and severely lacking talent at corner, moving on from Taylor is their only move. At age 35 (in May), he could very well be at the end of the line.

The Broncos are interviewing Wade Phillips for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

67-year-old Phillips is the best candidate on the market. His most recent defensive coordinator work came in Houston under new Broncos coach Gary Kubiak, where Phillips inherited the league's No. 30 unit in 2011 and turned them into an annual top-7 group. Phillips was also John Elway's head coach from 1993-94. He should jump at the chance to work with a talented defense headlined by Von Miller, Chris Harris, Aqib Talib and DeMarcus Ware.

Raiders re-signed SS Charles Woodson to a one-year contract.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie has a curious affinity for declining veterans. Woodson remains a team leader at age 38, but his on-field play slipped precipitously as the 2014 season progressed. He wound up grading out 68th among 87 qualifiers in PFF's safety grades, but did rack up 113 tackles and four interceptions. Woodson is very likely to return as a 2015 starter.

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the NFL has identified a Patriots locker room attendant as a "strong person of interest" in the ball-deflation scandal.

The league finally has its Ollie North. Per Glazer, the attendant "allegedly took balls from the officials' locker room to another area on way to the field." There is reportedly video of the incident. Glazer says the league is "still gauging if any wrong doing occurred." It's been obvious from Day 1 the Pats were going to set up some sort of underling as the fall guy, the only question is if he'll sing. The entire "scandal" is long past played out. It would be a shame were it to dominate all pre-SB chatter.

A source tells NJ.com that the Rams have interest in Nick Foles if the Eagles decide to trade him this offseason.

Foles is 14-4 as a starter over the last two seasons, but there's plenty of reason to believe he is not Chip Kelly's guy for the long haul. Kelly inherited Foles, he prefers a mobile quarterback, Foles regressed sharply as a thrower in Year 2 and the Eagles could be plotting a move up in the draft for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. According to NJ.com, the QB-desperate Titans and Texans would also have interest in Foles, who has one year remaining on his rookie contract. The Rams have already said Sam Bradford (ACL surgery) will face competition in training camp.

J.J. Watt was named Defensive MVP as Team Michael Irvin defeated Team Cris Carter in Sunday's Pro Bowl, 32-28.

We meant to blurb this last night, but our on-duty blurber literally fell asleep during the game. Watt racked up one tackle, a leaping interception, a fumble recovery, and four pass breakups for Team Carter. Quarterbacking Team Irvin for seven possessions, Matthew Stafford was named the game's Offensive MVP, throwing for 316 yards and two touchdowns.

Bengals WLB Vontaze Burfict recently underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee.

Microfracture surgery is one of the most serious procedures an athlete can undergo, as it involves drilling tiny fractures into the bone in an effort to develop new cartilage. This knee can now be considered a chronic concern for Burfict, who underwent surgery on the same joint in late October and played in just five games all year. For what it's worth, Burfict's surgeon says it's still very possible his patient will be ready for 2015 training camp. Linebacker has become a big need area in Cincinnati with Burfict's health uncertain, and MLB Rey Maualuga and SLB Emmanuel Lamur's contracts both expiring.

FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports "lots of folks" inside the NFL are "optimistic" suspended WR Justin Blackmon will return to the Jaguars in 2015.

Just as Josh Gordon's Dynasty league owners get the worst news possible, Blackmon's get a ray of hope. The Jaguars hope to have an update on Blackmon's progress before May's draft, at which point they can begin planning for the 2015 season. Blackmon remains "suspended indefinitely," with no concrete date for potential reinstatement. At Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell's season-ending presser this past December, he said he'd "heard some good things" about Blackmon's recovery from substance abuse. Blackmon turned 25 two weeks ago. His return would be a huge boost for beleaguered Blake Bortles.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio confirms Josh Gordon's one-year suspension stems from a failed test for alcohol, a substance Gordon was prohibited from consuming following his July 2014 DUI.

Consuming alcohol seems minor to all of us, but it was explicitly banned for Gordon as part of his DUI treatment plan. As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted on Twitter, the NFL's substance abuse policy is "extremely strict and spelled out. He'll wait for 2016." Gordon will be 25 1/2 years old when the 2016 season kicks off. He led the NFL in receiving yards at age 22.
