AWOL Patriots G Brian Waters' 2012 contract has officially tolled to 2013, but ESPN Boston considers it unlikely Waters plays for the Pats "ever again."

And by extension, football, since the Pats have thus far proved unwilling to trade Waters or relinquish his rights. It's possible the Pats will have a change of heart after making Waters sit out in 2012, but there would be little-to-no trade interest in a soon-to-be 36-year-old guard who hasn't played a down of football in over a year.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera admitted he is a "little concerned" about Kelvin Benjamin's (knee) Week 7 status.

Benjamin's knee "swelled up" after taking a shot in Week 6's loss to the Eagles. It's the same (left) knee he tweaked earlier this season. Yet to practice this week, Benjamin is looking more doubtful than questionable to suit up against the Bears. Rookie Curtis Samuel will be in for a bigger role behind Devin Funchess if Benjamin can't get cleared.

Delanie Walker was added to the Titans' injury report on Thursday, getting in a limited session with a calf issue.

You never like to see mid-week additions to the injury report, but Walker seems to always be playing through some sort of lower-body/soft-tissue injury. For now, his Week 7 status isn't a concern. What he's able to do on Friday will be the key.
Oct 19 - 2:43 PM

Updating an earlier report, Luke Kuechly (concussion) was listed DNP at Thursday's practice.

Kuechly was spotted at Thursday's practice but obviously wasn't able to do very much. Coach Ron Rivera said Kuechly is continuing to progress through the league's protocol but remained mum on his status for Sunday's game versus the Bears. Kuechly is arguably the league's best middle linebacker when healthy but has now been concussed three times in a span of three years.

Leonard Fournette (ankle) still expects to play against the Colts despite missing Wednesday and Thursday's practices.

Fournette ran on Thursday and expects to cut on Friday. Fournette was supposedly cleared to re-enter last Sunday's loss to the Rams after departing. Most signs point toward him suiting up against the Colts, but his status should not be taken for granted.
Oct 19 - 2:40 PM

Demaryius Thomas (calf) returned to Broncos practice Thursday.

Thomas is fully expected to suit up against the Chargers. He'll be in for a bigger workload than usual with Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) out. Even with Casey Hayward looming, Thomas is in the WR1 mix.
Oct 19 - 2:35 PM

Coach Sean McDermott said Jordan Matthews (thumb) hasn't taken as many team reps this week as the Bills would have liked.

Matthews is back practicing after undergoing thumb surgery a couple of weeks ago but it sounds like he isn't as far along as McDermott was hoping he'd be. The Bills are dangerously thin on pass-catchers right now with Matthews and Charles Clay (knee) both injured and second-round rookie Zay Jones playing poorly. Tyrod Taylor has a good on-paper matchup against the Bucs this week but it's hard to envision him having a big game with Clay out and Matthews (if he plays) at much less than 100 percent.
Oct 19 - 2:30 PM

DeMarco Murray (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday.

Speaking Tuesday, coach Mike Mularkey claimed he wasn't concerned about Murray's Week 7 status, but it's definitely in question after missing two practices. It's possible, if not likely, the Titans are just monitoring Murray's reps with an eye toward a Friday return, but it's become clear he's not close to 100 percent healthy. Derrick Henry is beginning to look like the better Week 7 fantasy bet.
Oct 19 - 2:24 PM

Stefon Diggs (groin) returned to Vikings practice Thursday.

Diggs himself labeled his Week 7 odds of suiting up as no better than 50-50, but this is a big step in the right direction. The key will be how Diggs' body responds on Friday. If Diggs does play, he'll be on the WR2/3 borderline instead of his customary WR1/2 borderline. He's at well less than full health, and has struggled to produce when banged up.
Oct 19 - 2:18 PM

Updating an earlier report, Bilal Powell (calf) returned to a full practice on Thursday.

He's been cleared to play Sunday against the Dolphins after sitting out one game with a strained calf. Powell should lead the Jets' backfield committee but faces workload concerns with Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire still occupying important roles. All three are risky fantasy bets.
Oct 19 - 2:07 PM

Luke Kuechly (concussion) was officially limited at Thursday's practice.

Kuechly's concussion, if he did indeed suffer one, does not appear to be as serious as the one that sidelined him for the final six games of 2016. With that said, the Panthers need to tread lightly here given Kuechly's lengthy history of brain injuries. It's unclear if he'll be cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Oct 19 - 1:55 PM

Josh Norman (ribs) took part in individual drills at Thursday's practice.

It's Norman's first appearance at practice since going down with a broken rib in Week 4. Bashaud Breeland, who left Sunday's game with a sprained MCL, was also present for the start of Thursday's practice. It would be a downgrade for Alshon Jeffery if Norman returns against the Eagles on Monday Night Football.
