A team source tells the Boston Globe that Brandon Lloyd's "erratic behavior in the locker room and on the practice field" bothered the Patriots last season.

According to the Globe's Greg A. Bedard, the odds are "against" the Patriots exercising Lloyd's $3 million option bonus. It's not the first time Lloyd's behavior has been called into question, as a Broncos source told the Globe last March that Lloyd "wasn’t a good teammate," and there were times "people in the building thought he may be bipolar." Cutting Lloyd would clear $4.9 million in cap space, but leave behind $2 million in dead money.

Bryan Stork failed his physical with the Redskins and has reverted back to the Patriots.

In a saga which refuses to end, Stork has now been cut, traded, retired, and now reverted in the last week. Again the owners of his rights, the Patriots will almost certainly release Stork before tomorrow's deadline. Washington will have to look elsewhere for interior line depth.

Redskins rookie RB Keith Marshall (elbow) is expected to miss at least three weeks.

Marshall suffered a nasty looking elbow injury in the third preseason game, but the team says it is just a sprain. The timetable is "at least" because CSN Washington's Chick Hernandez reports he will be "re-evaluated" after three weeks. It is certainly possible the injury-crossed back misses more time. With Matt Jones (shoulder) questionable for Week 1, undrafted rookie Rob Kelley could open the season in the starting lineup.

Browns released OLB Paul Kruger.

Kruger started the third preseason game and played extensively with the first-team defense, so this is a shocking cut. Usage contributed to Kruger recording his lowest sack total since 2010 last season, but he was expected to bounce back in new DC Ray Horton's scheme. With plenty of teams desperate for pass rushers, Kruger should not be on the street long.

A.J. Green said he "banged knees" with Jaguars CB Davon House in Sunday night's preseason game.

"I'm fine now," he added. The injury originally looked like an ankle tweak, but it sounds like Green escaped with a knee bruise. The Bengals are counting on Green as much as ever this season after losing Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu to free agency, and Tyler Eifert (ankle) until Week 4 at the soonest.

Brandon LaFell caught his only target for eight yards Sunday night against the Jaguars.

LaFell worked as the starter in two-wide sets before A.J. Green went down with a minor injury. Rookie Tyler Boyd saw time in the slot in three-wide looks. LaFell did curiously see snaps with the second unit, but it was likely just to get him reps after he missed time with a hand injury. Looking likely to open the season as the No. 2 receiver, LaFell has some intriguing target upside.

Tyler Boyd caught his only target for nine yards in the Bengals' third preseason game Sunday night.

Boyd played behind Brandon LaFell, only seeing work in three-wide sets before A.J. Green left with a minor injury. He still has time to jump the veteran before Week 1, but the Bengals' plan throughout the entire offseason was to have LaFell start with the rookie operating from the slot, which is likely the approach they will use early in the season. With an uncertain workload in what could be a run-heavy attack, Boyd is nothing more than a late-round flier.

Giovani Bernard rushed three times for 27 yards and caught both of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' third preseason game.

While Jeremy Hill (8-21-1) was repeatedly stuffed at the line, Bernard impressed with his patience as a ball carrier and turned a tunnel screen at the edge of the red zone into a 19-yard touchdown. The beginning to the season sets up nicely for Gio, as the Bengals start at the Jets and Steelers before hosting the Broncos in Week 3. Those were three of the best run defenses in football last year. If Hill struggles, Bernard should get increased work.

A.J. Green limped off the field in the first quarter of the Bengals' third preseason game with a knee injury, but the team says the issue is not serious.

Green appeared to suffer the injury when he planted his right leg along the sideline. He did run a route after the injury, but he limped to the sidelines after the play. The training staff reportedly did not find any issues when testing the stability of the knee, and Green walked it off on the sideline. Even though he appears to have escaped without a serious injury, Green's night is done.

Rookie Tyler Ervin was the No. 2 back behind Lamar Miller in the Texans' third preseason game.

It's not the first time Ervin has worked second behind Miller this preseason, though we weren't sure the previous time was notable because Ervin's appearance was brief. He logged the second most playing time with the ones on Saturday night, seeing more work in the Brock Osweiler group than Alfred Blue. It's not inconceivable Ervin would lead the Texans in touches if Miller went down. That possibility makes Ervin worth consideration in deep re-draft leagues. On Sunday, Ervin rushed twice for 13 yards and had a 20-yard reception.

Will Fuller caught 3-of-4 targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in Houston's third preseason game.

Assuming he sits out Thursday's preseason finale, Fuller finishes the summer with eight catches for 144 yards (18.0 YPC) and two touchdowns. His fourth target today was a bad drop on what would have been a long gainer, but it was an otherwise mighty impressive performance from the No. 21 overall pick. Fuller was running right by Cardinals DBs (Patrick Peterson was held out), though he did get away with a bit of a push-off on his touchdown. Fuller's hands are a concern, but his role (starting) and skills (now evident on NFL film) are not. He's a WR5 who could give you some big weeks during byes.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported Colin Kaepernick faces an "uphill battle" to make the 49ers' roster.

Glazer said he would be "shocked" if Kaepernick lasted the entire season on the 49ers' 53, and suggested Kap "may not even be on (the roster) in the next two weeks." All of Kaepernick's $11.9 million salary is guaranteed, but he has created a toxic situation by refusing to stand for pre-game National Anthems, which is Kaepernick's right but is frowned upon to put it mildly by most observers.
