Free agent FS Louis Delmas will leave Detroit on Friday night after a "pre-free agency checkup" on his knees, and he intends to test the open market.

"If something could get done today, something would have got done two months ago, during the season," Delmas said when asked about re-signing with the Lions. "The Lions are cheating on me. They’re going to the club every damn night and staying out late night, trying to come back home to Daddy." Delmas expects as many as eight teams to show interest in him when the tampering window opens.

Aaron Rodgers is working to build chemistry with his young receivers, especially Jeff Janis.

"He’ll go over after his set of reps and talk through it with them, especially with Jeff," quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt said. "They’re getting a good relationship now, working together and talking about what they expect from each other. So that’s been very positive." Janis is an athletic freak who has produced whenever given the chance, but he has never earned Rodgers' trust. Despite the extra attention, Janis has reportedly struggled early in camp. He is competing with Davante Adams for the No. 3 job.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley issued a "fantasy alert" for fourth-round WR Chris Moore.

Hensley reports Moore has generated "some early buzz" with his showing during the first two practices at training camp. It was only two practices, however, and Steve Smith Sr., Breshad Perriman, and Mike Wallace were not on the field. That said, it is possible two of those three are not ready for Week 1, and the Ravens do not have much behind Wallace and Kamar Aiken. A great deep threat in college, Moore could add an explosive element to an offense in desperate need of one if given the chance.

Raiders signed GM Reggie McKenzie to a four-year extension through 2020.

The laughing stock of the league when McKenzie took over in 2012 and through his first several years on the job, the Raiders are now legit playoff contenders with young stars at every important position and perhaps the best offensive line in the league. In the last three drafts alone, McKenzie has landed Derek Carr, Khalil Mack, Amari Cooper, Mario Edwards Jr., Clive Walford, and Gabe Jackson. He has absolutely transformed what was once the worst franchise in the league, making this extension more than deserved.

Bills GM Doug Whaley said the "lines of communication are open" between the team and walk-year QB Tyrod Taylor.

Whaley said the same thing about CB Stephon Gilmore, but a deal for Taylor seems more realistic after The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci reported it was possible the two sides reached a deal before the season. "It's free-flowing," Whaley said of the negotiations with Taylor. "Hopefully we'll get a resolution soon. Not sure though." If he can put another solid season together, Taylor will be a candidate for the franchise tag next spring if the two sides cannot work something out before then.

Markus Wheaton said he is not sure what his role will be following the year-long suspension to Martavis Bryant.

"Who knows how's it going to be without Martavis?" Wheaton said. "Maybe I'll get more work outside with (Bryant) out. It's really hard to say right now." Wheaton was expected to see more work when Bryant was suspended for the first four games of last season, but he only managed eight catches over that span. He is still the favorite for the No. 2 job behind Antonio Brown, but he needs to show well in camp to hold off sophomore Sammie Coates.

Redskins first-round WR Josh Doctson (Achilles') said he felt good after his first day of rehab.

Doctson took a month off to rest and treat his troublesome Achilles' tendon. He ramped up his activity on Thursday, and he said he woke up Friday feeling good. "Today was the real test," he said. "It’s been weeks since I felt this good." The rookie will still likely sit out a couple weeks, but it sounds like he is trending in the right direction. Doctson should open the year the Redskins' No. 4 receiver, but he has the talent to climb the depth chart quickly.

Patriots RBs coach Ivan Fears said he wants to see more consistency from LeGarrette Blount.

"I want to see the LeGarrette I know that can be a dominant player when he’s playing up to his stuff," Fears said. "He’s been hurt. He’s been away from us. There’s a lot of opportunity there for him. Let’s see what he can do." With the Patriots failing to add any backs of note over the offseason, Blount is in a great spot to retain the big-back carries, a role which could get more use with Tom Brady suspended the first four games. The reportedly "trimmed-down" Blount is a great value at his RB41 draft cost.

Anquan Boldin worked with the first-team offense during the first practice of Lions camp.

That did not take long. After signing a one-year deal on Thursday, Boldin was lining up between Golden Tate and Marvin Jones on Friday. If his $750,000 signing bonus was not proof enough, this clearly shows he is the favorite for the No. 3 job. T.J. Jones worked with the second-team on Friday.

Mark Sanchez was benched at Broncos practice on Friday after throwing a bad interception.

In a classic Sanchezian moment, he scrambled to his left, threw off target in the direction of Emmanuel Sanders, and was intercepted by Chris Harris. Sanchez was immediately pulled off the field, and Trevor Siemian closed out practice with the first-team offense. Coach Gary Kubiak insisted nothing should be read into it. "We're trying to go up there every night looking at an equal amount with each kid," said Kubiak. "That'll probably stay consistent here for a couple of weeks."

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Bills plan to turn Sammy Wakins (foot surgery) "loose" in a week.

Watkins opened camp on the active/PUP list but that was merely a precaution. The stud wideout claims his foot is 100 percent and he should be ready to roll in about a week or so. Obviously he'll be back in plenty of time for Week 1. Watkins could be a steal at his current ADP, though he won't be a bargain for much longer now that his health is no longer a question mark.

TMZ reports suspended Raiders OLB Aldon Smith has checked into a rehab clinic.

It's his second rehab stint after going in 2013 following two DUI arrests. Smith is currently serving a year-long substance abuse suspension. He also made headlines earlier this week after a Periscope video surfaced that may have showed Smith smoking an unknown substance. It's great that Smith is finally seeking help, but only time will tell if it's enough to resurrect his career.
