Bears TE/FB Evan Rodriguez was arrested on charges of resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication in Miami Thursday morning.

Rodriguez was booked on South Beach just after 5:30 a.m. following an incident related to a traffic accident. He's facing a $1,500 bond. As a fourth-round rookie out of Temple last year, Rodriguez had four catches for 21 yards. He finished the year out as a fullback. The police report states that when the officer asked Rodriguez for ID, he responded, "For what? I'm an NFL player. I don't need all that media stuff."

On Wednesday's GM Street podcast, The Ringer's Mike Lombardi reported the Broncos are "in love" with Ohio State CB Denzel Ward.

The Broncos previously hit on an Ohio State corner in Bradley Roby, and their loss of Aqib Talib has increased Denver's cornerback need. Ward is a man-coverage corner and ran 4.32 at the Combine. He is a sleeper to be the Broncos' pick at No. 5, or go to Denver if GM John Elway trades a few slots down the board.

Sam Darnold went No. 1 to the Browns in NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock's 2018 Mock Draft.

Mayock has the highest Mock Draft accuracy score among all "big media" draft analysts over the last five years. Mayock releases just one mock each draft season, and this year's came out Wednesday night. Mayock has the Giants taking Saquon Barkley at No. 2, the Jets taking Baker Mayfield at 3, the Browns taking Bradley Chubb at 4, and the Broncos grabbing Quenton Nelson at No. 5. Mayock then has the Bills trading up to draft Josh Allen at No. 6.

According to The Ringer's Mike Lombardi, NFL teams have concerns Georgia RB Sony Michel has a bone-on-bone condition in his knee.

It can be a career-shortening condition, and contributed to Jay Ajayi's fall in the 2015 draft. NFL Network's Mike Mayock has also alluded to medical concerns surrounding Michel, but still sent Michel to the Steelers in the first round in his mock draft on Thursday night. Lombardi said teams have concerns Michel won't last long enough to play out a second contract.

The attorney for the girlfriend of Reuben Foster, who accused Foster of domestic violence in February, is now saying Foster never injured her.

The woman says she fabricated the allegation, and pictures used as evidence against Foster actually came from another fight, with a woman. "(Foster) did not strike her, injure her or threaten her," said the woman's attorney. This is a huge break for the 49ers, and slightly lessens their linebacker need before the draft. Foster was one of the NFL's highest-impact rookies last year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Packers are "plotting" a move up in the first round.

The Packers have the No. 14 pick, but will likely need to move up to land Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick. They've also been linked to Florida State S Derwin James, Ohio State CB Denzel Ward and Iowa's Josh Jackson. Without much draft ammunition, Green Bay may have to trade future picks to get a deal done.

NFL reporter Ed Werder reports free agent Dez Bryant turned down a multi-year contract from the Ravens and wants a one-year, prove-it deal.

Werder, formerly of ESPN, is based out of the Dallas area and has big connections in the area. Once Bryant passed on Baltimore's offer, the Ravens likely turned their attention to Willie Snead and have moved on from Bryant. Bryant will be much more attractive to teams on a one-year contract as well. He's aiming for a big season in hopes of securing a multi-year deal in 2019.

9 News Denver's Mike Klis reports "eight teams" have expressed interest in free agent C.J. Anderson.

We don't have the identity of any of these supposed eight teams, and it sounds like an extremely agent-fueled report. Anderson has drawn zero known interest in the nine days since he was released by Denver but will assuredly find a job (likely rather quickly) after this weekend's draft.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots' interest in Louisville QB Lamar Jackson is "legit."

Jackson had two separate workouts with the Patriots this draft season, holding a private one in South Florida with OC Josh McDaniels and then visiting the organization on a top-30 visit in Foxboro. The Patriots, holding pick Nos. 23 and 31 in the first round, probably aren't going to have the desired firepower to move up to the top 10 of the draft, so they could be eyeing second-tier passers like Jackson and Mason Rudolph in the second half of the first round. Still, New England would probably have to come up some to take Jackson.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns "have cooled" on USC QB Sam Darnold "in recent days."

Many in the national media have pegged Darnold as the top choice for the Browns for much of the draft season, but word out of Cleveland is the Browns have "narrowed" it down to Baker Mayfield or Josh Allen at No. 1 overall. Darnold is widely considered the best overall passing prospect in this class, but the Browns front office has many Mayfield supporters, and the perceived upside of Allen is a big draw. If Cleveland passes on Darnold, teams will be scurrying to take him.
Apr 25 - 10:31 AM

Sources tell the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot that the Browns are believed to be down to Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield or Wyoming QB Josh Allen with the No. 1 overall pick.

Per those sources, the Browns have "cooled" on USC QB Sam Darnold in recent days for whatever reason. This falls in line with what some around the Browns have been saying for about a week now, as radio host and ex-Browns DB Dustin Fox reported last week that Cleveland was down to Mayfield and Allen. NBC's Dan Patrick reported the same on Monday. For what it's worth, GM John Dorsey's righthand man Scot McCloughan has said for a while that Mayfield is his No. 1.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent Dez Bryant is expected to wait until after this week's draft to sign with a team.

There's been little known interest in Bryant since his release from the Cowboys nearly two weeks ago. He's yet to make a visit, and there have been no concrete teams absolutely known to be involved in courting the 29-year-old. He's going to find it real tough to come close to the $12.5 million he was scheduled to earn in 2018 on his Dallas deal. We'll continue to wait.
