Cardinals agreed to terms with S Jonathon Amaya, formerly of the Dolphins, on a one-year contract.

The last we heard of the special teamer, he was getting arrested for choking a cab driver in November. The charges were later dropped. Amaya played just four snaps on defense last season. That's unlikely to change in the desert.

Robert Griffin III completed 27-of-41 passes for 336 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Washington's 44-17, Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.

He added six carries for 19 yards and a second touchdown, but also lost a fumble which Cowboys DE Anthony Spencer housed for a score. Both of RGIII's picks were tossed into too tight of coverage, while his fumble came on a play where he should have gone down earlier. He never got in rhythm as a passer, with big chunks of his yardage coming after the catch from DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Griffin closes the book on 2014 having committed eight turnovers while accounting for just five touchdowns. He's not a fit for coach Jay Gruden's conservative, pass-happy offense, and Gruden doesn't appear particularly interested in making him one. It will be a disaster waiting to happen if RGIII is back as Washington's starter in 2015. A trade would be best for his fantasy future, but clueless owner Daniel Snyder likely won't be willing to sell low on someone he believes is his franchise player.

DeMarco Murray rushed 20 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' Week 17 win over the Redskins, adding three receptions for an additional 21 yards.

Murray finishes 2014 with 1,845 yards rushing, and having surpassed 100 yards on the ground in 12-of-16 contests. His 2,261 yards from scrimmage are 13th most all time, while his raw rushing total is 17th. Murray's 1,845 yards on the ground are a new Cowboys record. Perhaps most impressively, Murray took the rock 392 times, more than all but six players in NFL history. He'll look to carry the Cowboys to their second playoff victory of the Tony Romo era.
Dec 28 - 4:42 PM

Joe Flacco completed 22-of-36 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' playoff-clinching win against the Browns.

Flacco and the Ravens' offense struggled mightily through three quarters of this contest, but Flacco completed two big passes to Torrey Smith midway through the fourth to give the Ravens the lead and then capped off another scoring drive with a two-yard pass to Kamar Aiken to put the game to bed. The two touchdown passes give Flacco a career-high 27 this season, and his 3,986 passing yards are also a career high. The Ravens will travel to face either the Bengals or Steelers in the first round of the playoffs next week.
Dec 28 - 4:25 PM

Matt Forte gained 51 yards on 17 carries and caught eight passes for 23 yards in the Bears' Week 17 loss to the Vikings.

With 102 receptions, Forte broke Larry Centers' record (101) for running back catches, which had stood since 1995. On the ground, Forte finished with 1,038 yards on 266 carries (3.90 YPC). He scored ten all-purpose touchdowns. Although his rushing numbers diminished this year, nothing on Forte's tape suggests he's in decline. He is 29 years old, however, and the Bears may need to begin thinking about a running back of the future. Forte will enter his 2015 contract year owed nearly $8 million. He's worth it.
Dec 28 - 4:16 PM

Drew Brees completed 24-of-38 passes for 281 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in New Orleans' 23-20, Week 17 win over the Bucs.

Had the Saints been facing any other opponent, they would have closed the book on their miserable 2014 with a defeat. As it is, Brees' three picks and lack of big plays was a microcosm of his season. Brees finishes with 4,952 yards, putting him below 5,000 for the first time since 2010. His 33 touchdowns tie for his fewest since 2007, while his 17 picks were his second most since 2010. All in all, it was not a bad season, but enough below Brees' lofty standards that concerns about him entering his decline phase will have to be put to rest on the field in 2015. Despite all that, Brees will enter next season as an obvious top-five fantasy quarterback.
Dec 28 - 4:15 PM

Coby Fleener caught five passes for 56 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-10 Week 17 win a Tennessee.

Fleener once again ate with Dwayne Allen (knee) sidelined. He was featured in the red zone, working as the primary read on a back-side slip play for a 7-yard score and then coming down with a 8-yard jump ball from Matt Hasselbeck in the fourth quarter. Although Fleener lacks game awareness and physicality, he has wideout-like athletic ability in a tight end's frame. He finishes his third NFL season with 51 catches for 774 yards and eight touchdowns.
Dec 28 - 4:11 PM

Steven Jackson (quad) is inactive for Week 17 against the Panthers.

As expected. Julio Jones (oblique) is active in another non-surprise. Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start for the Falcons at running back, playing on passing downs and in high-pressure situations. Devonta Freeman is the better bet for early-down carries. Also inactive for the Falcons are QB Sean Renfree, C Charles Godfrey, CB Ricardo Allen, LB Tyler Starr, OT Jonathan Scott, and DE Stansly Maponga.
Dec 28 - 3:07 PM

DeAngelo Williams (hand) is inactive for Week 17 against the Falcons.

Williams was listed as probable, so he's essentially a healthy scratch. He's coming off a broken hand, but the Panthers expressed some concern over his ability to pick up the blitz. Jonathan Stewart will carry the load once again for Carolina. Also inactive for the Panthers are CB James Dockery, S Robert Lester, LB A.J. Klein, DT Kyle Love, OT David Foucault, and OG Amini Silatolu.
Dec 28 - 3:02 PM

Tom Brady was pulled from the Patriots' Week 17 matchup against the Bills after halftime.

Jimmy Garoppolo is in at quarterback for New England. Brady completed 8-of-16 passes for 80 yards and zero scores in one-half of work. Brady found Brandon LaFell and Brian Tyms for a couple long plays, but otherwise the Patriots' offense was stagnant against a stout Buffalo defense. The Patriots will get a week of rest before playing a home game in the Divisional Round.
Dec 28 - 2:38 PM

Arian Foster exited Week 17 against the Jaguars with a knee injury and will not return.

The Texans also announced a hamstring issue for Foster. He was injured near the end of the first quarter and missed the final series of the opening quarter before heading to the locker room after the break. Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes are handling backfield duties. Before leaving, Foster rushed for 23 yards on five carries and caught a 10-yard touchdown. He wraps up the regular season with 1,246 yards and eight touchdowns on 260 carries, adding 327 yards and five touchdowns on 38 catches. Foster missed three games and parts of a couple others with injuries, but stayed relatively healthy and was a dominant RB1 when in the lineup. Foster has two more years on his contract.
Dec 28 - 1:52 PM

Vincent Jackson was forced the Bucs' Week 17 game against the Saints with a groin injury, and is doubtful to return.

V-Jax went down midway through the first quarter, and the quick "doubtful" tag is a strong indication he will not return. V-Jax had one catch for 11 yards before going down, bringing his season line to an uninspiring 70/1,002/2. Jackson has now cleared 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons as a Buc, but watched his touchdown totals fall from eight to seven to two. Two weeks shy of his 32nd birthday, V-Jax is now clearly behind Mike Evans on the depth chart. V-Jax remains one of the league's best pure deep threats, but his days of no doubt WR1/2 status in fantasy are over. Jackson is due a hefty $9.777 million in 2015, but should remain in Tampa.
