Alabama RB Eddie Lacy (hamstring) was not asked to return to Indianapolis for a medical recheck.

It's a good sign for Lacy's hamstring prognosis. Every year, players with lingering injury issues are sent back to Indianapolis if doctors deem their injuries long-term concerns at the Combine. Lacy and Star Lotulelei do not have to go back. Lacy remains on schedule to run the forty-yard dash on April 11.

Walk-year WR Emmanuel Sanders said he is not weighed down by ongoing contract negotiations.

"I don’t think it weighs on me," Sanders said. "For me, it’s going to come. If it’s meant for me, it’s meant for me. But I’m going to keep playing ball because I love to do it." Owed $5.6 million in the final year of his deal, Sanders is set to earn a big pay raise in the near future. A deal similar to Jeremy Maclin's five-year, $55-million pact is certainly within reason.

In an interview with ESPN's Vaughn McClure, Sammy Watkins (foot) was noncommittal about his status for training camp.

Last week Watkins was adamant he would be ready for the start of training camp. Now he seems to be backing off that assertion. "Hopefully I'll be back," said Watkins. "If not, then cool. Get ready for the first game." Watkins admitted he hasn't run in 3-4 weeks but said he's "just being safe." Watkins is still on track for Week 1 but that's only if he doesn't encounter any setbacks.

Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com believes Carson Wentz will watch his rookie year from the sidelines.

Sam Bradford looks to be the starter while Kempski sees the Eagles going with Chase Daniel as the backup. Taking a red-shirt year used to be commonplace for rookie signal-callers but lately we've seen more of them get thrown into the fire in year one. However, the Eagles seem to be taking a more patient approach with Wentz. Daniel is a favorite of new coach Doug Pederson but it's still hard to envision Wentz falling to third on the depth chart after going No. 2 overall in this year's draft.

Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times Union expects Julius Thomas to score double-digit touchdowns this season.

Per Carlyon, Thomas was "nearly unstoppable" at OTAs. Thomas got off to a slow start last year after missing the first month with a broken hand but finished the season strong by nabbing touchdowns in four of his last seven games. Thomas will have no trouble returning TE1 value as long as he stays healthy.

Calvin Johnson said he knew 2015 would be his last year in the NFL before the season began.

Johnson has not wavered in his retirement decision, but that will not stop the comeback questions from popping up every time he is in public. He was asked about the future at his "Catching Dreams" football camp on Saturday, and he swatted down any talk of unretiring. Unfortunately for people who like to watch elite receivers dominate, Johnson has played his last NFL snap.

ESPN's John Keim reports the Redskins "loved how [Jamison] Crowder looked" in the offseason program.

Keim thinks the sophomore will continue to have a role in three-wide sets despite the presence of first-round pick Josh Doctson. That will likely be true early, especially with Doctson missing time with Achilles' and foot injuries, but Crowder is at best the No. 4 passing-game option either way. A low point-per-target player with limited touchdown upside, Crowder does not need to be drafted in standard leagues.

Updating a previous item, Raiders suspended OLB Aldon Smith's Friday hearing for a probation violation did not stem from a new incident.

Smith was also in court Friday to dispute DUI charges picked up in August of 2015, charges which violated his probation. Although the violation does not stem from a new incident, it is a reminder of the amount of trouble Smith has found himself in throughout his career. He is not eligible for reinstatement until November.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto reports Robert Griffin III has been "coachable" this spring.

Pluto reports Griffin has at times battled impatience about the speed of his development, but he has been willing to work with the coaching staff. That is good considering the lackluster reports about his performance coming out of minicamp and coach Hue Jackson's assertion that Griffin is still "mastering the quarterback position." Griffin has undeniable upside, but his range of outcomes is as wide as any quarterback in the league this season.

Speaking to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Johnny Manziel's father said, "My son is a druggie and he needs help."

"Hopefully he doesn't die before he comes to his senses," said Paul Manziel. "I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him." This isn't the first time Manziel's father has publicly pleaded for Johnny to seek help and it probably won't be the last. Earlier this week, Manziel's lawyer Bob Hinton accidentally revealed to the Associated Press that he's seeking a plea deal in his domestic violence case. Things just keep getting worse for Johnny Football.

Saints placed CB Kyle Wilson on injured reserve.

The Saints haven't disclosed his injury. Wilson entered the league as a first-round pick in 2010 but hasn't lived up to expectations. He's logged just four interceptions over 95 career games including one in 15 contests last season. The 28-year-old is headed for free agency after this season.

According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the Broncos haven't engaged in contract discussions with franchise player Von Miller since early this month.

In other words, nothing has changed. The sides are still at an impasse with Miller angling for more guaranteed money. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has threatened to sit out the season if the Broncos don't meet his demands but that seems extremely unlikely. The deadline for the two sides to reach a long-term deal is July 15.
