Sources tell ESPN the Dolphins and Chiefs are not close on a trade for LT Branden Albert.

The Chiefs won't accept a Day 3 pick for Albert, so any deal would have to involve 2014 picks. Therefore, there's no longer a sense of urgency. Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland tried to play it close to the vest Friday night, saying the trade "is not going to really amount to much, my personal opinion." He did select Tennessee G/T Dallas Thomas with the 77th pick. Still, the Chiefs don't have much leverage. Albert doesn't want to play on his $9.3M franchise tender, or move to right tackle. Eric Fisher will be the Chiefs' left tackle.

Coach Pete Carroll provided little update on Doug Baldwin (groin) Monday, saying the severity of the strain remains unclear.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the groin strain isn't believed to be serious, but Carroll and the team are still waiting for tests to come back. Baldwin was having a huge game against the Titans with a 10-105-1 line before leaving in the second half. Baldwin has a little extra time to get ready for Week 4, as the Seahawks host the Colts on Sunday night. We'll have plenty of updates.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tyler Eifert will miss "multiple weeks" with a back injury.

The good news is he does not need surgery. The bad news is Eifert's back is acting up again after an injury cost him Weeks 16-17 last season, then he underwent surgery after the year. Tyler Kroft will take over as the Bengals' starting tight end. Eifert looks droppable in 12-team fantasy leagues.

Andrew Luck (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 4 at Seattle.

NFL Network reported on Sunday morning that Luck is targeting Week 6 for his return. On Monday, coach Chuck Pagano suggested Luck could resume practicing this week, but stopped short of full-on predicting it. Jacoby Brissett played well in Weeks 2-3 against the Cardinals and Browns, but he's entering a trouble spot at CenturyLink Field. Seattle's D/ST should be a popular Week 4 play.

Melvin Gordon reportedly has a "minor" bone bruise on his knee.

Gordon played a season-low 42 percent of the Chargers' Week 3 offensive snaps due to this injury. Gordon apparently suffered the injury in practice last week. Gordon's Week 4 status against the Eagles is uncertain. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Gordon "wanted to go back in" to last week's loss to Kansas City.

The Bucs say WLB Lavonte David has a "medial" ankle sprain.

It beats a high ankle sprain, which would sideline David for at least a month. On Monday, coach Dirk Koetter said David's injury was "reevaluated," and after doing so the Bucs believe he's "week to week." We doubt he'll play in Week 4.

X-rays came back negative on Matt Forte's toe injury.

It doesn't mean he's out of the woods, but it does sound like a day-to-day injury. Forte never returned to Sunday's win over the Dolphins after rushing eight times for 25 yards. We'll have another update on him by Wednesday.

Tyler Eifert (back, knee) is uncertain when he will return.

Eifert isn't looking likely to be on the field in Week 4. Eifert's upside is tantalizing, but the downside is too prevalent. He's not a must hold in 10-12 team leagues if you're hurting for a roster spot.

Rob Kelley (ribs) remains day to day.

The same is true of Jordan Reed (various). Kelley's injury is a matter of pain management, which is easier said than done. It's an extremely painful injury. Kelley did seem reasonably close to playing in Week 3. At least initially, he should be considered on the positive side of questionable for next Monday's game against the Chiefs.
Sep 25 - 3:25 PM

Sam Bradford (knee) is uncertain for Week 4.

Coach Mike Zimmer called Bradford day to day. He also confirmed Bradford will remain the team's starter despite Case Keenum's explosive Week 3. That's hardly surprising, of course. The tea leaves suggest Bradford is going to miss another game, leaving Keenum to start against the Lions.

49ers placed OLB Tank Carradine on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain.

Carradine went down in last Thursday's loss to the Rams. He can resume practicing in six weeks and return to game action in eight. Elvis Dumervil is ticketed for the biggest uptick in snaps in Carradine's absence.

Julio Jones is dealing with a lower-back injury, and will be limited in practice this week.

Jones picked up the injury at some point in Sunday's narrow win over the Lions. Coach Dan Quinn didn't seem concerned about Jones' Week 4 status, but it's obviously something to monitory. Jones could be "DNP" on Wednesday.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Although Jones hasn’t scored yet, he's seen an increase in targets each week and he picked up three end zone looks this past weekend. He’ll try to find paint against the Bills but it could be a tough spot. He'll see a healthy dose of E.J. Gaines, who’s been solid. After being targeted 22 times through three weeks, he's limited receivers to a 10/79/0 line. However, Jones will also see Tre'Davious White, who's given up the 13th-most receiving yards (164) on 10 catches. Since Gaines doesn’t move, the Falcons could match up Jones with White near the end zone and provide him more scoring opportunities. The Falcons are implied to score 28.25 points.
