Giants selected Ohio G Eric Herman with the No. 225 overall pick.

Herman (6-foot-4 1/8, 320) started 51 games for the Bobcats, mostly at right guard. Short arms (32 1/4") will keep Herman on the interior in the pros. At the Combine, Herman repped 225 pounds 36 times on the bench but was below average in athletic testing. The Giants continue to try to get younger on the interior of their line with Chris Snee entering his age-31 season.

Terrelle Pryor wasn't targeted in Thursday's preseason finale, but rushed twice for nine yards.

Limited by a hamstring issue for the past month, Pryor was making his preseason debut. The Browns have insisted all summer that Pryor is a strict wideout, but both of his touches came as the quarterback on read options. Pryor did do some blocking as a wideout, and even served as the punt protector. Although Pryor has barely practiced this summer, and tonight's work came with deep reserves, he's looking like a good bet for the Browns' 53-man roster. A team with this little talent can't afford to let a blue-chip athlete like Pryor go. Pryor is currently off the re-draft radar, but that could change over the season's first few games.

Falcons SLB Brooks Reed is will miss six weeks after undergoing groin surgery.

A second opinion on Reed's long-troublesome groin determined he needed the operation. Reed could be a candidate for the Falcons' injured reserve-designated for return list. Kroy Biermann figures to open the season as Atlanta's "Otto" strong-side linebacker. It's going to be another long year for the Falcons' defense.

Chris Johnson rushed 11 times for 45 yards and caught one pass for 10 yards in the Cardinals' fourth preseason game.

He ripped off several chain-moving runs against the Broncos' second- and third-team defenses, showing nice cutback vision and acceleration. Johnson put a move on a defender and gained 10 yards on a swing pass early in the game, and busted through the line on a draw play to pick up 16 yards on a 3rd-and-11. Johnson should be expected to look good against second-team talent, but his acceleration appeared to be intact after an offseason away from football. Johnson should put pressure on Andre Ellington and David Johnson for snaps.

Cardinals' team reporter Jody Jackson said Michael Floyd's (dislocated fingers) status for Week 1 is still "up in the air."

Floyd started catching soft passes this week, but Jackson said no one from the organization has said they expect Floyd to play. With just 10 days until the season opener, Floyd has yet to return to live drills. We will not have a great feel for Floyd's status until the Cardinals publish an official practice report next week, but right now he appears to be questionable at best for Week 1.

Packers second-year WR Jeff Janis caught two balls for 21 yards and a touchdown in Thursday night's preseason finale.

Just another preseason touchdown for Janis, who now has FIVE touchdowns through two NFL preseasons. Janis' 14-yard score was delivered by rookie quarterback Brett Hundley in this one. Aaron Rodgers apparently still lacks trust in Janis, a size-speed SPARQ freak out of Saginaw Valley State. For now, rookie Ty Montgomery is penciled in ahead of Janis as Green Bay's third receiver.

Saints WR Brandon Coleman caught four balls for 82 yards in New Orleans' preseason finale against the Packers.

It was refreshing to see Coleman make some plays after he went the Saints' first three exhibition games with just one catch. With Luke McCown starting Thursday night's game, Coleman got loose for a 45-yard reception on New Orleans' opening drive, setting up Willie Snead's seven-yard score. Coleman is expected to open the year as one of Drew Brees' top-three wide receivers.

DeVante Parker caught an 11-yard pass in the Dolphins' preseason finale Thursday night.

He played eight snaps. Recovered from June foot surgery, Parker was healthy enough to start Thursday night's game, although his quarterback was someone named McLeod Bethel-Thompson, or "MBT." MBT completed an 11-yard pass to Parker on Miami's second drive. Later, Parker got open deep downfield but was overthrown by Bethel-Thompson. Parker's participation in this game bodes well for his chances of having a role in Week 1 against the Redskins, even if it won't be as a starter. He figures to open the season as Miami's fourth or fifth receiver and should ascend as the year moves along.

Zach Ertz (groin surgery) remains unsure of his Week 1 status.

Ertz said he's feeling better every day, but that his status for the opener could come down to a game-time decision. It's a massive disappointment for a player who has breakout potential this season. Ertz was already going to have trouble weaning Chip Kelly off of Brent Celek, but now Celek could establish a stranglehold on starting duties. Ertz is worth keeping around as an upside bench option, but his TE1 candidacy is on thin ice.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) is playing in Thursday's preseason finale.

It will be the No. 14 overall pick's preseason debut, and means he's officially on track for Week 1. Still getting up to speed on his conditioning, Parker will likely be limited to only a few series. He's not a recommended preseason DFS option.

Browns preseason broadcaster Solomon Wilcots believes Dwayne Bowe is on the roster bubble.

Wilcots came to that conclusion after speaking with Browns coaches. Per Wilcots, Bowe "needs to deliver" in Thursday's preseason finale to ensure his spot on the 53-man roster. Perhaps it's just a motivational tactic from Bowe's coaches, but it speaks volumes that he's playing at all on Thursday. Bowe has been active for just one preseason game, and was held without a catch.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports unsigned franchise player Jason Pierre-Paul plans to report to the Giants next week, and expects to play "early in the season."

It's the first time anyone has attached a date to Pierre-Paul's return. JPP has been away from the team rehabbing on his own since blowing off one of his index fingers in a July 4 fireworks accident. The G-Men's undermanned defense could desperately use an early-season return from its best pass rusher.
