NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DE John Abraham is not considering retirement.

Abraham hinted on his Twitter account Saturday that he was planning to retire, but the 35-year-old is reportedly just frustrated with the free-agent process. It appears Abraham has since deleted the tweets. To this point, Abraham's market has been stalled by an exorbitant asking price. If he really wants to play football again, Abraham has plenty of pass-rush juice left in his tank. He popped loose six fumbles and amassed ten sacks in 2012.

Jets placed RB Stevan Ridley (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

ESPN New York reported Thursday that Ridley would "probably say he's ready to roll," but the Jets have decided he'll be more valuable as a midseason replacement with seven more weeks of rehab under his belt. Chris Ivory begins the season with a stranglehold on No. 1 duties, with Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell fighting for scraps. How Ivory fares will determine what sort of role Ridley has upon his return. He's not worth stashing in re-draft leagues.

NFL.com reports the Browns are fielding trade offers for RB Terrance West.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Texans are one of the teams interested. It would be difficult for the Browns to cut a 2014 third-round pick outright, but they will almost certainly move on if they can get anything back in a trade. Coach Mike Pettine has been open about his disappointment with West's inconsistency. West would be the most talented back on the Texans' roster with Arian Foster sidelined.

Bengals placed WLB Vontaze Burfict (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

The Bengals had been hoping Burfict would avoid the PUP. Now he's not eligible to play before Week 8. Sub-replacement level veteran A.J. Hawk is holding down the fort in Burfict's absence. Coming off microfracture surgery, it's a legitimate question whether Burfict will ever recapture his early-career form.

Patriots waived RB Jonas Gray.

It's possible Gray is being waived/injured, as he missed the preseason finale with an undisclosed injury. Either way, it brings (a little) clarity to the Pats' jumbled backfield. Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White will mind the store during LeGarrette Blount's one-game suspension, while Blount will be the No. 1 upon his Week 2 return. Gray had a nice preseason, rolling up 107 yards on 19 carries (5.6 YPC), and averaged 4.6 yards on 89 totes a year ago. It's quite possible he'll be claimed on waivers.

Giants waived/injured WR Corey Washington.

Initial reports had Washington as merely waived. He missed the preseason finale with a shoulder injury. He'll revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers. Washington stuck with the Giants in 2014 after turning in a mammoth preseason, but couldn't match the feat this summer, catching just three passes for 25 yards in three games. Washington still has some upside, but there's no real reason to keep him around in Dynasty leagues.

Lions waived QB Kellen Moore.

Moore has been with the Lions since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He had a solid summer, but was never going to overcome his physical limitations. Moore is undersized, and lacks arm strength. Dan Orlovsky is Matthew Stafford's backup.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reported "there's a growing sense" Geno Smith could return sooner than expected.

That sense grew stronger after the Jets cut Matt Flynn and Josh Johnson on Saturday, leaving just rookie Bryce Petty behind starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. Smith is unlikely to return to a starting job, but he could be fit enough for backup duty in the first month of the season.

9 News Denver's Mike Klis reported RB Montee Ball is not among the Broncos' final cuts.

Ball's roster spot seemed all but gone after a disastrous showing in the fourth preseason game, but Denver will keep the former second-round pick around for at least another couple days. Ball could still be cut once waiver claims begin this afternoon. The Broncos may also be holding out hope they can get something back for Ball on the trade market.

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reported Browns RB Terrance West's roster spot "is not necessarily safe."

Pro Football Talk reports the Browns are in the market for a veteran back, and if they find one it could mean the end for West. The sophomore running back has earned the ire of coach Mike Pettine for his "ups and downs" and will begin the season behind at least Isaiah Crowell on the depth chart if he sticks with Cleveland. The Browns have reportedly discussed bringing in Ray Rice.

Eagles released QB Tim Tebow.

Tebow's apostles took Friday's trade of Matt Barkley as a sign that he'd be the Eagles' No. 3 quarterback, but the team has instead made the increasingly-common decision to go with only two signal callers. Mark Sanchez is one of the league's most experienced backups, making a third unnecessary for the time being. Tebow was impressive as a runner this summer while making some plays with his arm, but racked up stats against third- and fourth-string defenders, and hadn't appeared to make any meaningful progress on his previous form. A surprisingly great television presence, Tebow should be headed back to ESPN's SEC Network.

Colts placed DT Arthur Jones (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Jones underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments in his ankle on Friday. Jones has played just nine games since signing a five-year, $33 million contract last offseason, but was a difference maker versus the run when he was in the lineup last year. The Colts will rely on rookie DL Henry Anderson to step up in Jones' place, in addition to free agent pickup Kendall Langford. Expect another year of below-average run defense from Chuck Pagano's group.
