Browns signed P T.J. Conley.

The Jets' 2011 punter, Conley joins a competition that currently includes Spencer Lanning and Jake Schum. The only player with NFL experience, Conley is the favorite, but Cleveland could still end up re-signing free agent Reggie Hodges.

In an interview with WGR 550 Buffalo, Bills GM Brandon Beane said Zay Jones will have to "earn his way" following a disappointing rookie season in 2017.

"He’s not just going to necessarily go right to the top of the line," said Beane. "He’ll have to earn his way." The 23-year-old sat out OTAs while recovering from knee surgery, meaning he has yet to catch passes from newcomers A.J. McCarron and Josh Allen. Jones won't face much competition at receiver in Buffalo, but it will be hard for fantasy owners to trust him after hauling in just 41.5 percent of his targets last year.

Rick Stroud of Tampa Bay Times expects second-round RB Ronald Jones to earn 15-20 touches per game this season.

This comes days after Stroud's colleague, Greg Auman, suggested Jones would share backfield work with power back Peyton Barber and pass-catcher Charles Sims. While 15-20 touches per game isn't quite bell-cow level, it's still a substantial workload. Even if Barber vultures some short yardage carries and Sims fills in the gaps on passing downs, there's no doubt Jones will be heavily involved as a rookie. In Tampa, he's the running back to own for fantasy purposes.

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, first-round QB Baker Mayfield has a "long way to go to unseat" starter Tyrod Taylor.

Mayfield has already surpassed Drew Stanton on the Browns' QB depth chart but remains a distant second to Taylor, who has handled all of Cleveland's first-team reps. "I made a commitment to [Taylor] and he has held up his end of the bargain with not just the way he works but the way he plays and the way he leads," said coach Hue Jackson. Obviously the contract-year Taylor is just a placeholder for Mayfield, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and first overall pick in April's draft. Tyrod will likely be the Week 1 starter but there's a good chance we'll see Mayfield at some point in 2018.

According to ESPN's Mike Rodak, Nathan Peterman is a "serious contender" for the Bills' starting quarterback job.

He impressed while rotating first-team reps with A.J. McCarron at Bills' minicamp, completing 10-of-13 passes with a touchdown during 11-on-11 drills at Tuesday's session. Peterman struggled mightily in his lone start last year—he threw five picks against the Chargers before coming out at halftime—but has cleaned up his mechanics after spending the offseason training with QB guru Tom House. The Bills traded up to draft Josh Allen seventh overall in April, but he mostly worked with the third team during spring practices.

SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reports the Giants aren’t close to an extension with Odell Beckham.

Beckham plans to attend training camp, but that could change if there’s no movement in contract talks. The Giants have "shown no signs" of meeting Beckham’s demands of being the highest paid receiver in the league. Playing on a fifth-year option, Beckham doesn’t have much leverage if he holds out. The Giants can franchise Beckham for $13 million in 2019.

The Philadelphia Inquirer expects second-round TE Dallas Goedert to be an immediate red-zone threat.

With Trey Burton gone, Goedert is stepping into to the No. 2 tight end role. He reportedly "didn't look like a rookie" in spring workouts and should open the year behind Zach Ertz. There's talk Goedert could get some slot snaps in three-wide sets. Goedert didn't do much blocking in college, so it's possible he'll lose work to Richard Rodgers on early downs.

Odell Beckham told reporters he plans to attend training camp.

Beckham's ankle injury limited him to individual drills during the offseason. There was concern he would hold out of training camp after Beckham said he wouldn't practice without a new deal. The Giants want to see Beckham on the field before extending him, so proving he's healthy could ramp up talks. Beckham should be full-go for the start of camp.

Cardinals EDGE Markus Golden (knee) is targeting a preseason return.

Golden was cleared to run in April and got in some limited side work this offseason. It's doubtful he'll be ready for the start of training camp, but Golden is trending in the right direction. With Arizona moving to a 4-3 scheme, Golden should bookend Chandler Jones when healthy.

Colts FS Malik Hooker (knee) has a chance to be cleared for training camp.

Hooker is eight months removed from ACL surgery. He did some off-field work at OTAs but has been without a concrete timetable. Returning for the start of training camp would likely be a best-case scenario, though it sounds like Hooker may avoid the active/PUP list. Barring setbacks, Hooker should be ready for Week 1.

Cardinals.com's Darren Urban believes it's "hard not to see" Sam Bradford as the opening day starter.

The Cardinals have moved Bradford slowly this offseason, but he's looked good when on the field. Barring setbacks, it sounds like Arizona won't stray from their plan to go into the year with him as their starter. Bradford hasn't played a full season since 2012 but is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league. It's a potentially bad situation for Josh Rosen if Bradford stays healthy.

NFL suspended Cowboys DL David Irving four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Irving will be eligible to return against Houston in Week 5. This is the second straight year he's served a four-game suspension after testing positive for PEDs in 2017. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, his latest ban stems from a series of missed drug tests. Irving logged a career-high seven sacks last season while earning PFF's No. 8 pass-rushing grade among 79 qualifiers at defensive tackle. His talent is undeniable but Irving needs to get his off-field life in order. The 24-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
