Sources tell the New York Daily News that restricted free agent Victor Cruz has lowered his contract demands.

At one point, Cruz was asking for $10-11 million per season. Now he's reportedly seeking "much closer" to the $8 million annually the Giants are offering. It's a reminder that slot receivers just don't have the same clout as true No. 1 wideouts. The Daily News believes a deal will "probably" be done in time for Cruz to report to the full-team minicamp that begins on June 11. It's a great sign for both Cruz and Eli Manning's 2013 fantasy value.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports a "sizable gap" remains between Russell Wilson and the Seahawks ahead of Friday's artificial extension deadline.

Per Garafolo, "only significant concessions by one or both parties" will get a deal done. Garafolo reports the Seahawks have offered to make Wilson one of the three highest-paid quarterbacks in the league, and are willing to best Cam Newton's five-year, $103.8 million extension. That's not good enough for Wilson, who understands that historical precedent dictates he becomes the highest-paid player in the league, at least until Andrew Luck gets a new deal.

Free agent James Jones is visiting the Giants.

Per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the "hope for both sides" is a deal. A veteran of OC Ben McAdoo's system from their time together in Green Bay, Jones would provide insurance on an ineffective Rueben Randle and rehabbing Victor Cruz behind superstar Odell Beckham. Jones hadn't made any previously-known visits since getting released by the Raiders in May.

Victor Cruz (knee) has avoided the PUP list to begin training camp, but will be "eased in."

Cruz has made surprisingly-fast progress since tearing his patellar tendon last Week 6, and is tentatively expected to play in the preseason. He should be ready to go for Week 1. With Odell Beckham established as one of the best wideouts in the NFL, Cruz is no longer a WR1/2, but checks in as an upside WR3.

ESPN reports the Rams have had "continued dialogue" with contract-year QB Nick Foles about an extension.

Per reported Nick Wagoner, "nothing appears imminent," but GM Les Snead believes a deal is possible before the end of the season. Translation, talks won't be cut off after Week 1. Locking up Foles now would be a "buy low" on a player who could end up staying low.

Tyler Eifert declared himself 100 percent on the first day of Bengals camp.

He indeed avoided active/PUP and should be all systems go after suffering a year-ending elbow injury in Week 1 last season, and undergoing a shoulder surgery while he was on the shelf. The 21st overall pick in the 2013 draft, Eifert conceded he hasn't felt 100 percent since 2014 OTAs. Eifert offers some breakout potential and is priced reasonably in most forms of fantasy.

Cowboys placed RB Darren McFadden on the active/PUP list with a hamstring injury.

Act surprised. With his career running on fumes, McFadden has been battling a hamstring issue since OTAs. We'd like to say he's day to day for the start of camp, but you never know with someone who has suffered as many injuries as DMC. McFadden's roster spot is far from assured. It's possible he's eventually replaced by free agent Chris Johnson.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt has confirmed Marcus Mariota is the team's starter.

Speaking about the Titans' "quarterback competition," Whisenhunt was emphatic that it was "after Marcus." It's not in any way surprising, but the Titans aren't going to make the No. 2 overall pick jump through any artificial hoops on his way to No. 1 status.

Terrance West got the first rep in team drills as the Browns opened training camp Thursday.

Coach Mike Pettine said he will mix it up by day and by drill. But at the very least, West getting the first rep on the first day of camp shows he's not buried on the depth chart as previously speculated. Isaiah Crowell, who got the second rep Thursday, remains our favorite for early-down work. Rookie Duke Johnson will also push for a significant role in this muddled, hot-hand situation.

Ravens rookie WR Breshad Perriman ran with the starters as training camp opened Thursday.

The WR-needy Ravens didn't use the No. 26 overall pick on Perriman to have him sit. Although Kamar Aiken soaked up plenty of first-team reps during the spring, Perriman is the prototypical size/speed specimen that will have to fall flat on his face to lose the job. With only 36-year-old Steve Smith and unproven tight ends as competition for targets, Perriman has value at his ninth-round ADP.

A Minnesota judge has transferred the NFLPA's Tom Brady lawsuit back to New York.

The NFLPA filed the suit in Minnesota in an effort to get Judge David Doty, who has historically sided with the Player's Association. U.S. District Judge Richard Kyle saw through that, kicking the case back to Manhattan where the NFL preemptively filed. "The Court sees little reason for this action to have been commenced in Minnesota at all," Kyle wrote. "Brady plays for a team in Massachusetts; the Union is headquartered in Washington, D.C.; the NFL is headquartered in New York; the arbitration proceedings took place in New York; and the award was issued in New York." It's a win for the NFL as the real legal battle gets going.

The San Francisco Chronicle passes along "whispers" that the Raiders' reclamation flyer on Trent Richardson is "not going so well."

Beat writer Vic Tafur doesn't elaborate beyond that. In early July, OL coach Mike Tice stated T-Rich shed weight this offseason, helping some of his old quickness to return. More-objective observers of Raiders practice must not have seen much from Richardson in the way of positives. Owed only $600,000 in guaranteed money on his two-year, $3.85 million deal, Richardson would be easy to cut.
