Seahawks TE Anthony McCoy (Achilles' surgery) cleared waivers and was placed on injured reserve.

Barring an unlikely pre- or in-season injury settlement, McCoy will spend the year on injured reserve and hit unrestricted free agency next offseason.

Tom Brady (knee) has been removed from the Patriots' injury report.

As has Julian Edelman (foot). Brady appeared genuinely hobbled in Week 12 before looking better against the Rams in Week 13 (shocker). He'll be a top-five option against the Ravens on Monday Night Football.
Dec 8 - 4:23 PM

Mark Ingram (toe) was downgraded to "DNP" in Thursday's practice.

Ingram seems poised to play through his toe issue for the second straight game, but mid-week downgrades are always eye-catching. We wouldn't consider the matter settled. Ingram will probably suit up as a low-end RB2 against the Bucs, but owners need to keep checking his status.
Dec 8 - 4:18 PM

Marquess Wilson (groin) returned to Bears practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

It gives Wilson a chance to suit up against the Lions, but it's far from certain. Unfortunately, the Bears are a bottom-three team when it comes to injury truthfulness, so we could go into Sunday morning lacking a clear idea of Wilson's status. If Wilson does play, he'll be hard to trust as a WR4. He'll be at less than 100 percent with Matt Barkley playing quarterback.
Dec 8 - 4:10 PM

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jamaal Charles (knee) is doing well in his recovery from knee surgery and hopes to be back for the playoffs.

It's a nice thought, but it's probably not going to happen. Charles has had two knee surgeries this year on top of the torn ACL that caused him to miss most of last season. It doesn't make much sense for the Chiefs to rush Charles back when he isn't even going to be the starter. If Charles does return this year, it will be as a change-of-pace option behind workhorse Spencer Ware. With all the injuries he's suffered over the years, it's fair to wonder how much Charles has left in the tank.
Dec 8 - 3:51 PM

Updating an earlier report, Jordan Matthews (ankle) was upgraded to full at Thursday's practice.

There's no longer any doubt about his Week 14 status, not that there ever was. Matthews will be a WR3 Sunday in his return from a one-week ankle injury.
Dec 8 - 3:20 PM

Michael Thomas (foot) remained sidelined Thursday.

The Saints are arguably the league's most opaque team when it comes to injuries, but missing back-to-back practices is always an ominous sign. Thomas needs to get in at least a limited session on Friday to have a realistic shot at suiting up. Thomas will remain in the low-end WR1 mix if he can give it a go against Tampa. His absence would make Brandin Cooks a no-brainer WR1.
Dec 8 - 3:15 PM

Jordan Reed (shoulder) said he expects to play Week 14 against the Eagles.

We're not sure what to make of all this as ESPN's John Keim said Reed looked to be in "obvious pain" at Thursday's practice. Despite what Keim saw, Reed claims to have his full range of motion back and coach Jay Gruden said he "looked pretty good" on Thursday. This is shaping up as a classic game-time decision. Fortunately the Redskins play at 1 PM ET this week, so we'll know his status relatively early.
Dec 8 - 3:09 PM

Bills OC Anthony Lynn said Mike Gillislee will continue to get red-zone work.

"That's his role," said Lynn. Gillislee vultured a pair of goal-line touchdowns last week against the Raiders and now has six touchdowns over his last seven games. That might concern owners of LeSean McCoy, though Shady has still managed 10 touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving) in 11 games this year. McCoy is obviously the more well-established of the two, but the Bills are running the ball enough for both players to have fantasy success. Consider Gillislee an RB3/flex going forward.
Dec 8 - 2:25 PM

Derek Carr (thumb) is expected to continue operating exclusively out of the shotgun in Thursday's game against the Chiefs.

The Raiders' offense has been 100 percent shotgun since Carr injured his pinkie in Week 12. It wasn't an issue on Sunday against the Bills, and shouldn't be against the Chiefs on Thursday. Carr's main Week 14 concerns are Justin Houston and frigid temperatures.
Dec 8 - 2:21 PM

Trevor Siemian (foot) practiced for the second straight day Thursday.

Siemian was officially "limited" on Wednesday, and will probably remain so on Thursday. Right now, he's on track to start against the Titans, but it's not a certainty. The Broncos will probably make a final determination on Friday. Siemian's status is most important for how it affects Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.
Dec 8 - 2:15 PM

Jets C Nick Mangold (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 14, and could require surgery.

It's sounding like Mangold's season is most likely over. He could be headed to injured reserve before Sunday's game against the 49ers to free up a roster spot. Wesley Johnson is manning the pivot in Mangold's absence. One month shy of his 33rd birthday, Mangold is signed through 2017.
