After studying Jay Cutler's 2012 game tape, ESPN's Ron Jaworski believes Cutler has "plateaued" and failed to get better "from year to year."

Jaws left the door open for Cutler to improve under new coach Marc Trestman, and still loves his willingness to "pull the trigger" versus tight man coverage. But Jaworski believes Cutler's sometimes overly aggressive mentality has made him an oft-undisciplined player prone to "reckless, undisciplined plays, bad decisions, scattershot throws." Added Jaws, "Marc Trestman will coach him hard. It is now up to Jay Cutler to accept that coaching."

Carlos Hyde returned to the Week 3 game against the Rams in the second quarter.

Sep 21 - 9:11 PM

Carlos Hyde (hip) is questionable to return to Week 3 against the Rams.

He was talking to the trainer during the second drive, but he did go back in after that to return for one play. After that play, Hyde was shaking his head as he went to the sideline and was considered questionable to return about five minutes later in real time. If he's limited or out, there should be more Matt Breida in the running game.
Sep 21 - 8:45 PM

Jimmy Graham (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.

That makes it two missed practices in a row and he's shaping up to be very questionable for Week 3 against the Titans. The Seahawks have listed him on the injury report with an ankle injury, but the team did say he banged his knee in Week 2. If Graham can't play, Luke Wilson and Nick Vannett would likely fill in while the Seahawks run with more three-wide sets.
Sep 21 - 7:18 PM

Melvin Gordon was added to the Chargers' injury report on Thursday, getting in a limited session with a knee issue.

Not what you want to see, but there's a strong chance it's simply the Chargers playing it safe with a back who has a history of knee issues. At this point, there's zero reason to believe Gordon won't be out there against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Sep 21 - 6:53 PM

Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Thomas is ready to rock for Sunday's trip to Buffalo. He's camped out on the WR1/2 borderline.
Sep 21 - 6:20 PM

Jordan Howard (shoulder) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice.

The Bears haven't spoken much on Howard's status, but the back-to-back limited sessions suggest he will suit up against the Steelers. At less than 100 percent with Tarik Cohen monopolizing passing-game work, Howard will be an RB3 if he manages to play against the Steelers' tough defense.
Sep 21 - 5:32 PM

Patriots RCB Malcolm Butler is unsure if he will start in Week 3.

Butler came off the bench in Week 2, but ended up playing 49-of-65 snaps. Coach Bill Belichick has made it clear he hasn't been happy with Butler's play. He had a rough Week 1 in the Chiefs' beatdown of the Pats, but was better against the Saints. Eagles castoff Eric Rowe is the Pats' No. 3 corner.
Sep 21 - 5:28 PM

J.J. Nelson was limited with a hamstring injury in Thursday's practice.

It's a new injury for Nelson, though the "limited" practice suggests it's not serious. He has an extra day to get healthy with the Cardinals playing on Monday Night Football. Any sort of hamstring issue is still not something you want to see for a burner such as Nelson. His status will be updated on Friday.
Sep 21 - 5:24 PM

A study of deceased ex-Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez's brain revealed a case of Stage 3 CTE.

Stage 3 CTE is associated with "cognitive impairment and trouble with executive functions like planning and organizing." Hernandez was one of the youngest ex-players to be diagnosed with the brain disorder, which is the result of repeated head trauma. Serving a life sentence for murder, Hernandez committed suicide in April.
Sep 21 - 4:39 PM

Sam Bradford (knee) was officially "limited" in Thursday's practice.

It would appear Bradford is on track to return against the Bucs. If he does indeed suit up, he will be a mid-range QB2 at less than 100 percent against a feisty defense.
Sep 21 - 4:20 PM

Rob Gronkowski (groin) was officially "limited" in Thursday's practice.

It puts Gronk on track to play against the Texans. He will likely remain limited on Friday. Perhaps the Patriots will create the impression he's a game-time decision, but Pats/Texans kick off at 1ET. Fantasy owners will have clarity when setting their lineups.
