The Jets will work out free agent WR Austin Collie on Monday.

They're also working out Laurent Robinson. Collie has dealt with multiple concussions and a ruptured patellar tendon since entering the league in 2009, but recently said he's willing to sign a liability waiver for any NFL team. If healthy, he would provide an immediate upgrade to the Jets' receiver depth. Santonio Holmes (foot) is coming off a Grade 4 Lisfranc injury and may not be ready for the season opener. Robinson suffered four concussions in 2012.

Zach Ertz (groin surgery) remains unsure of his Week 1 status.

Ertz said he's feeling better every day, but that his status for the opener could come down to a game-time decision. It's a massive disappointment for a player who has breakout potential this season. Ertz was already going to have trouble weaning Chip Kelly off of Brent Celek, but now Celek could establish a stranglehold on starting duties. Ertz is worth keeping around as an upside bench option, but his TE1 candidacy is on thin ice.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) is playing in Thursday's preseason finale.

It will be the No. 14 overall pick's preseason debut, and means he's officially on track for Week 1. Still getting up to speed on his conditioning, Parker will likely be limited to only a few series. He's not a recommended preseason DFS option.

Browns preseason broadcaster Solomon Wilcots believes Dwayne Bowe is on the roster bubble.

Wilcots came to that conclusion after speaking with Browns coaches. Per Wilcots, Bowe "needs to deliver" in Thursday's preseason finale to ensure his spot on the 53-man roster. Perhaps it's just a motivational tactic from Bowe's coaches, but it speaks volumes that he's playing at all on Thursday. Bowe has been active for just one preseason game, and was held without a catch.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports unsigned franchise player Jason Pierre-Paul plans to report to the Giants next week, and expects to play "early in the season."

It's the first time anyone has attached a date to Pierre-Paul's return. JPP has been away from the team rehabbing on his own since blowing off one of his index fingers in a July 4 fireworks accident. The G-Men's undermanned defense could desperately use an early-season return from its best pass rusher.

NFL suspended Broncos SS T.J. Ward one game for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.

Ward was arrested following a strip club "scuffle" in May 2014. Ward was shaky in the first season of his four-year, $22.5 million contract last season, and missed Week 17 with a neck issue. He'll return in Week 2.

The league has formally appealed Judge Richard Berman's decision to vacate Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

However, as previously reported, the league will not seek an injunction to prevent Brady from playing as the appeals process plays out. It's expected to take several months, meaning Brady's 2015 status is in little doubt. It would seem to behoove the league to take the "L" and move on, but that has never been commissioner Roger Goodell's style.
Sep 3 - 2:53 PM

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) is expected to be "limited" in Thursday's preseason game.

Pryor could end up playing only a series or two. That would be his most action of the preseason, of course, but it's not going to offer anything meaningful to his roster odds. Pryor's 53-man chances live and die with what he did in pad-less offseason practices.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported several owners did not want the NFL to appeal the Deflategate decision.

Cole reports several owners want to see this saga "end once and for all." Goodell almost had to appeal the decision which blasted the league's handling of the Deflategate situation, but it is yet another decision which could strain his relationship with the owners. Cole reports the NFLPA and the owners agree the NFL needs to overhaul the disciplinary process.
Sep 3 - 12:34 PM

In a statement, Roger Goodell confirmed the NFL will appeal Judge Richard Berman's decision to nullify Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport does not expect the NFL to seek an injunction which would keep Brady from playing while the appeal process plays out. Judge Berman's decision was a clear and almost comprehensive win for Brady and the NFLPA, but Goodell likely feels he has to appeal in order to save face. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported multiple owners do not want the NFL to appeal and are wondering if Goodell has too much power in player discipline.
Sep 3 - 12:21 PM

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Cowboys DE Greg Hardy is considering an appeal of his four-game suspension in the wake of Tom Brady's appeal win.

Hardy saw his 10-game suspension reduced to four games in July, but he still feels hard done after being forced to sit out all but one game last year. Brady's win in federal court could give Hardy the confidence to seek out a similar result. If Hardy can earn a stay, the Cowboys' defensive line will be a position of strength entering the season.
Sep 3 - 10:45 AM

U.S. District Judge Richard Berman nullified Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

The NFL will likely appeal the decision, but Brady will be under center for the Patriots' opener on September 10. Most reports suggested Brady's team had the stronger case, and the NFL's decision not to pursue a settlement when Brady was reportedly open to one earlier this week is yet another puzzling decision from the NFL office. Brady should now be considered a top-five fantasy option and a solid DFS play in his tasty Week 1 matchup against the Steelers.
