Seahawks signed TE Michael Palmer.

Palmer, 25, spent five days on the Giants' roster in May, but was later waived. He's appeared in 43 games for the Falcons over the last three seasons, mainly as a blocking tight end. Palmer will compete for a roster spot.

Doug Martin (ankle) remained sidelined at Bucs practice Thursday, but has shed his walking boot.

The fact that Martin has shed his boot offers a glimmer of hope for his Week 9 status, but most signs point toward him sitting out against the Browns. Reporter Greg Auman believes Bobby Rainey will lead the Bucs in touches in Martin's potential absence, but that rookie Charles Sims could earn a much bigger role going forward if he performs well. We'd consider Rainey a borderline RB2, and Sims a wait-and-see RB3.

Owen Daniels (knee) was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday.

Daniels was shockingly "limited" on Wednesday after getting his knee scoped last Friday, but isn't a good bet to suit up for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. Even if the Ravens try to make it appears as if he'll play, he can't be relied on as a TE1 at far less than 100 percent health.
Oct 30 - 1:58 PM

Justin Forsett (ankle) returned to Ravens practice Thursday.

Even if Forsett gets slapped with a "limited" tag, he's fully on track to suit up against the Steelers. The clear leader of the Ravens' committee, Forsett is safe to fire up as an RB2.
Oct 30 - 1:50 PM

Speaking Thursday, coach Jay Gruden confirmed Robert Griffin III (ankle) will be the Redskins' Week 9 starter, barring setbacks.

Gruden believes his quarterback is "100 percent" physically. Getting in a "full" practice on Thursday, RGIII took the "majority" of the first-team reps over Colt McCoy after splitting them on Wednesday. Griffin is a monster upgrade over McCoy and Kirk Cousins, but sidelined since Week 2 and a questionable fit for the offense Gruden insists on running, he should be considered a wait-and-see QB2 for Week 9 despite his considerable upside.
Oct 30 - 1:32 PM

A.J. Green (toe) participated in Thursday's practice.

It will likely be another "limited" session for the long-sidelined receiver, but it's another step in the direction for his Week 9 status. Even if Green practices again on Friday, he's likely trending toward a game-time decision, but owners can be cautiously optimistic he'll suit up. CIN/JAX kicks off at 1ET, so thankfully we'll have a Green answer no later than 11:30 AM ET.
Oct 30 - 1:26 PM

Giovani Bernard (hip) is not practicing again Thursday.

Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site says "you have to figure he's going to be out." That would leave Jeremy Hill as the feature back against the Jags Sunday, with Cedric Peerman and possibly Rex Burkhead mixing in. We have no details on the severity of Bernard's injury right now, other than that it's a hip pointer. All owners can do is sit tight and hope they were handcuffing properly with Hill, who could very well push for 20 touches Sunday.
Oct 30 - 1:01 PM

Chargers CB Jason Verrett has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Verrett, the first-round rookie who has been excellent opposite Brandon Flowers, is out 2-3 weeks. After that, he'll be reevaluated with surgery an option if inflammation doesn't go down. It's a bit troubling as Verrett also had a medical red flag on him during the draft process after a labrum repair. The Chargers defense is turning into one we'd attack more often than shy away from when evaluating matchups.
Oct 30 - 12:43 PM

RB Trent Richardson (hamstring) and CB Vontae Davis (knee) are practicing Thursday.

Richardson was active in Week 8, but only as an emergency back behind Ahmad Bradshaw and Boom Herron. This week, he's on track for a much bigger role in Monday night's game against the Giants. Richardson was averaging 17.1 touches per game through the first seven weeks. Davis' ability to practice is bad news for Eli Manning and the Giants' wideouts, as Davis has emerged as a legit dominator on the perimeter.
Oct 30 - 12:10 PM

Coach Jason Garrett said Thursday he's "certainly" optimistic Tony Romo (back) can play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Romo did not participate in the Thursday morning walkthrough and is unlikely to practice much -- if at all - this week. However, he doesn't have any structural damage in his back and we've seen him play through all kinds of pain before, often taking pre-game injections. Ultimately, owners should expect a game-time call ahead of the 1pm ET matchup against a leaky Cardinals secondary.
Oct 30 - 11:42 AM

Rashad Jennings (knee) will not play in Monday's game against the Colts.

Jennings rehab from a Week 5 MCL sprain is not going as expected -- he hasn't even resumed practicing yet. We'll consider him questionable for Week 10. In the meantime, rookie Andre Williams will try to rebound from two ineffective and disappointing starts prior to the bye. Showing a lack of vision and a tendency to run to contact, Williams will only be a borderline RB2.
Oct 30 - 11:04 AM

Bucs beat writer Greg Auman sees 10-plus touches for Charles Sims (ankle) Sunday.

It sounds like a lot for a rookie that has been on IR/return all season, but it speaks to the kind of role the Bucs want him to have. Doug Martin (ankle) is in a walking boot and highly questionable, possibly leaving Sims and Bobby Rainey as the top-two backs against the Browns' No. 30 run defense Sunday. "There's no doubt, when (Sims) is ready to go, he will give us a spark," coach Lovie Smith said. "I feel pretty confident in saying that."
