Seahawks placed RB Robert Turbin (foot) on the active/PUP list.

Coach Pete Carroll said the team has been monitoring soreness in Turbin's foot since the offseason program. It doesn't sound like a long-term concern. "He feels fine, doesn’t feel it at all," Carroll assured. "But again we’re just taking every precaution at this early time." Turbin is day to day.

Coach Ron Rivera announced Jonathan Stewart will start Week 16 against the Browns.

DeAngelo Williams (hand) will only be used in an "emergency," leaving Stewart to handle another 20-plus carries against a suspect Cleveland run defense. With Cam Newton back under center, it should open up more running lanes than Stewart saw with Derek Anderson in Week 15. Stewart is in the RB2 discussion.

T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Coach Chuck Pagano cautioned to not count Hilton out for Sunday despite him not practicing at all this week. Hilton worked off to the side with trainers on Friday. Beat writer Mike Chappell is "convinced" Hilton won't play, but we're unlikely to get a definitive answer before Sunday. The Colts have already clinched the AFC South and have little chance at a first-round bye. They may choose to play it safe with their No. 1 receiver. It wouldn't be smart to risk Hilton to further injury.

Cam Newton (back) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Browns.

He'll make the start and be a high-end QB2 with unlimited upside. Derek Anderson heads back to holding the clipboard with a 2-0 record across two spot starts.
Dec 19 - 12:45 PM

C.J. Spiller (collarbone) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Raiders.

It's unclear what Spiller's role will be in his return from I.R./recall due to a broken collarbone. Fred Jackson has been handling the vast majority of the work in the Buffalo backfield of late. Spiller can't be trusted in fantasy lineups during title week, even against a Raiders defense that gets gashed by running backs via the pass. Oakland has surrendered eight receiving touchdowns to running backs.

Seahawks signed DE Cliff Avril to a four-year, $28.5 million contract extension through 2018.

The deal includes $16 million guaranteed. After Avril accepted a discount from the Seahawks prior to the 2013 season on a two-year contract, it appears the 28-year-old pass rusher is taking another one to stay in Seattle. Avril has graded out as a top-seven pass-rushing 4-3 end at Pro Football Focus in 2014, as he currently sits fourth at the position with 38 quarterback hurries. He has 12.5 sacks across 29 regular-season games for the Seahawks. Seattle continues to lock up its talent.

Mike Chappell of RTV6 Indianapolis is "convinced" T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) will not play Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Chappell has been covering the Colts for 30 years. His opinion is worthy of taking note. Hilton hasn't practiced at all this week and wasn't present again Friday. If he sits, Donte Moncrief should see a major boost in snaps. With Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks lacking any semblance of separation skills, Moncrief and Coby Fleener could hog targets against the Cowboys' weak pass defense.
Dec 19 - 11:48 AM

Julio Jones (hip) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

He'll be listed as questionable. We're unlikely to know Julio's status for Week 16 until Sunday morning. If he can't go, Harry Douglas will make another start opposite Roddy White. Both Douglas (foot) and White (knee) will play.
Dec 19 - 11:46 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Cowboys have left the decision to play Week 16 against the Colts up to DeMarco Murray (hand), "in which case he will definitely opt to play."

Murray's going to give it a go Sunday. He has an outside shot at netting 2,000 rushing yards -- he currently sits at 1,687 -- and is said to have a high pain tolerance. Murray's broken bone is in his left (non-dominant) hand. If he suits up, owners have to play him. Murray is having an historic season and has a plus Week 16 matchup against a leaky Colts run defense. We can't expect Murray to carry it 30 times, but 20-plus touches is doable.
Dec 19 - 10:56 AM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Texans are leaning toward starting Case Keenum at quarterback for Week 16 against the Ravens.

As expected. Keenum simply knows the offense better as a whole than Thad Lewis. Keenum spent the summer with the Texans, while Lewis was signed just a few weeks ago. Neither Keenum nor Lewis would be on the fantasy radar. The Ravens may have a suspect secondary, but they have a dominant pass rush.

Toby Gerhart rushed 12 times for 53 yards and a touchdown before leaving the Jaguars' Week 16 win over the Titans with a rib injury.

He added a seven-yard reception. Shaken up in the second half, Gerhart briefly played through what was billed as a rib "contusion," but was then ruled out late in the fourth quarter. He operated as the Jags' clear lead back before going down, but ceded some touches to Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman. Gerhart was feisty between the tackles, shedding defenders and showing off some spin moves. He looked miserably slow when the Jags tried to send him around the edge, however. Gerhart should be considered questionable for next week's finale against the Texans.
Dec 18 - 11:27 PM

Blake Bortles completed 13-of-26 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 21-13, Week 16 win over the Titans, adding five rushes for 50 yards.

Bortles' sprained foot was not an issue. In the merciful end to an unimpressive slate of Thursday night games, Tennessee and Jacksonville put on a reasonably good show. Bortles got off to a painfully slow start, completing just four passes for 10 yards through the Jags' first four drives. He never exactly got in a groove, but finally started driving the ball and sustaining drives. He took "just" four sacks four days after getting walloped for eight by the Ravens. Bortles committed a fumble, but the Jags recovered. Bortles hasn't put a lot of positive things on tape, but has had abysmal protection and a revolving door at running back, receiver and tight end. The jury remains out.
