Redskins signed ILB Nick Barnett, formerly of the Bills, to a one-year contract.

Barnett, 32, had been in the D.C. area for the last two days. He was cut by the Bills in February with a "failed physical" designation, so the Skins wanted to make sure his knee was good to go. Barnett started all 16 games last season, grading out as a top-ten 4-3 outside linebacker per Pro Football Focus. He'll provide depth behind starting inside 'backers London Fletcher and Perry Riley.

Doug Martin said after Sunday's win over the Chargers that he missed the Bucs' final three drives because he got "bent back" late in the game.

This is the extent of the information available on why Martin didn't play on the Bucs' final three drives. The Bucs turned to Jacquizz Rodgers, who finished with nine touches and handled all of Tampa Bay's clock-killing carries in Sunday's 28-21 road-game win. We suspect Martin will be fine for Week 14.

Cam Newton was benched for the start of Sunday night's game against Seattle.

Derek Anderson started and threw an interception on his first play of the game. Coach Ron Rivera benched Newton for breaking a "minor team rule." Newton came in on the second drive after missing only one snap.

Le'Veon Bell cruised to 118 yards on 29 carries while snagging six-of-seven targets for 64 yards Sunday in the Steelers' Week 13 win over the Giants.

He also threw an incomplete pass (don’t ask us how or why). Bell was stymied in the first half, producing just 31 yards on 11 rushes. But of course, Le’Veon saved the best for last. Bell went bonkers in the second half with 87 yards on 18 carries, though he did lose a fumble that eventually led to a Giants touchdown. As usual, he was heavily involved in the passing game. Even when he isn’t finding the end zone (Sunday broke his three-game touchdown streak), Bell continues to be a dominant force in PPR. Aside from possibly David Johnson, no running back has a higher weekly floor than Bell. Look for him to have another monster game next week at Buffalo.

ESPN Rams reporter Alden Gonzalez reports the team "still could part ways" with coach Jeff Fisher after the season despite him signing a two-year extension.

"7-9er" may be giving Fisher too much credit based on how this pitiful team has played this season. The Rams just lost by double-digits again on Sunday, falling to 4-8 with four games left to play and the Falcons coming to town next. According to various media outlets and Fisher himself, the extension was signed well before the season started. The Rams were expected to contend for a playoff spot in their first season back in L.A., but they're closer to being the worst team in football than being a playoff squad. Fisher is on his way to becoming the losingest coach in NFL history, and owner Stan Kroenke might be getting antsy after Fisher picked a fight with Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson earlier this week, causing the fan base to call for Fisher's head. It's not set in stone that Fisher will be back in 2017. Kroenke has deep enough pockets to pay him to leave.

Jamison Crowder suffered a hip pointer Week 13 against the Cardinals.

It is unclear when Crowder suffered the injury as he was in on the final offensive play of the game. Considering he played through the issue, he should be fine moving forward, but he could miss some practice time this week. Crowder had an inefficient game, but he looked healthy shaking Tony Jefferson down the seam on his 26-yard touchdown. He also could have had another long gain, but Kirk Cousins threw behind him on the game-sealing interception. Crowder finished with three catches for 42 yards and the score. If Jordan Reed remains out and Crowder is healthy, he will be a borderline WR2 against the Eagles.

Ladarius Green delivered six catches for a career-high 110 yards and one touchdown on 11 targets Sunday in the Steelers' Week 13 win over the Giants.

After seeing limited snaps in his first few games, the training wheels came off for Green on Sunday. With the Giants putting all their time and energy into shutting down Antonio Brown, Green had free reign on Sunday. He was seemingly wide open on every pass that was thrown to him, breaking off gains of 37, 33 and 20 yards. Landon Collins missed his assignment on Green’s only touchdown of the afternoon, which came late in the third quarter. We’ve been cautious not to overhype Green coming off a lengthy injury, but after Sunday’s explosion, it’s hard not to acknowledge his potential. Green will be in the TE1 conversation next week at Buffalo.

Tyrell Williams caught 2-of-4 targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 13 loss to the Bucs.

It was a quiet day for The Gazelle, who was catch-less until he caught a 40-yard touchdown bomb off play action in the fourth quarter, beating Bucs LCB Brent Grimes. Williams had a goose egg at halftime. Playing through a torn labrum in his shoulder, Williams may be a risky fantasy bet the rest of the way. He does draw a favorable matchup in Week 14 against the Panthers.
Dec 4 - 7:54 PM

Larry Fitzgerald hauled in 10-of-11 targets for 78 yards in the Cardinals' Week 13 win over the Redskins.

Fitzgerald was the only receiver doing anything early, racking up five catches for 59 yards including a great catch-and-run in the two-minute drill in the first half. He kept it going after the break, adding another five catches including some big third-down conversions. Fitz also drew a third-down-converting penalty on Josh Norman on the game-sealing touchdown drive. Still going strong at the back-end of a spectacular career, Fitzgerald became the youngest player to reach 1,100 catches in NFL history on Sunday while jumping both Cris Carter and Marvin Harrison for third on the all-time list. The Canton-bound receiver will be a back-end WR1 next week in Miami.
Dec 4 - 7:54 PM

Carson Palmer completed 30-of-46 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns in the Cardinals' Week 13 win over the Redskins.

Palmer had a quiet first half, throwing for 135 scoreless yards, but he did hook up with Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson a couple times on a successful two-minute drill before the break. He was still under routine pressure after halftime, but he managed to capitalize on a Kirk Cousins fumble with a tight-window laser to Michael Floyd from six yards out to help get the scoring going. That was not the end of the fireworks, either. Palmer hooked up with David Johnson on a 25-yard score to give the Cardinals the lead for good, and he found J.J. Nelson on a 42-yard bomb which put the game away. Palmer now has multiple touchdowns in four of his last five games, and he has topped 300 yards in three of those contests. He will be in the QB1 conversation next week against Miami.
Dec 4 - 7:48 PM

Doug Martin rushed 17 times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for a gain of 23 in the Bucs' Week 13 upset of San Diego.

Martin turned in a useful fantasy line thanks to a two-yard touchdown plunge, but he lost a ton of late-game playing time to Jacquizz Rodgers, who returned from a foot injury on Sunday. Martin did not play on the Bucs' final three drives. It's possible the Bucs were just managing Martin's reps following his return from a severe hamstring injury. It's also possible Martin suffered an injury of some sort. One beat writer suggested the Bucs simply prefer Rodgers as a late-game clock killer. Either way, it's a situation to monitor ahead of a Week 14 date with the visiting Saints.
Dec 4 - 7:47 PM

Cameron Brate caught 6-of-9 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs' Week 13 win over the Chargers.

As Chargers top CB Casey Hayward put clamps on Mike Evans (3-38-0), Brate stepped up as Jameis Winston's go-to receiver. Brate isn't a great athlete and doesn't do anything flashy, and has struggled to maintain a full-time role due to blocking deficiencies. But he is an adept possession target and one of Winston's favorite options in the red zone. Brate will be a low-end TE1 when the Bucs host the Saints in Week 14.
